@ra5hie I couldn't imagine how frustrating that is... I personally don't believe in doing that. I dont even like to acknowledge disabilities for that reason. Ragnar's first plan was to raid one last time. His best legacy was his son's, but his return showed him that he lost the power of a leader to his son's. So his second plan was to lure his son's to raid with him but they were all bitter and blamed him, the one that didn't blame him (Bjorn) was already too big a legend to even consider changing his plans( raiding the meditation) for Ragnar. But upon seeing himself in Bjorn he changed his entire plan. He realized he is to die in the hands of the Englishmen for his plan to work, so he came to his third plan how to die in a way that his sons would avenge him. He turned to Lagather to both hope to accompany him and bid farewell, after knowing Lagather would not follow he then saw his last hope in Ivar. He knew very well how impulsive Ivar was and he knew how easy Ivar could die if the enemy was seriously into killing him. But he also knew that the Englishmen will look down on a cripple, cause what can a cripple do. But that cripple was as to rangers plan, to set as a witness and messenger to his son's that he paid for his crimes against his people with his life, and a form of apology to all his son's for failing them. If Ragner loved his son's he loved them all equally. Only that Bjorn is a son he personally cultivated, Bjorn too came from a farmer's life like him, Bjorn fought alongside him in all his glorious expeditions and all his failures, that's why to all Ragners son's he is a Legend but to Bjorn he is a man. That's also the reason Ragner once told Bjorn what he sees when he sees katekat... And along that conversation he told him one day it will all be his. Same is true that he knew Bjorn will outshine him.
What a scene. It's Like Ragnar's stressing/worrying about whats ahead and to see Ivar prepared and ready to go changes his mindset completely. The will to carry on and not be broken by it all makes you one badass for sure.
Ivar was a bit smarter when it comes to taktics on the battlefield. But Ragnar high battle Intelligence and taktikel intelligence made him overall smarter then Ivar.
Don‘t forget on the beginning as Ragnar took Athelstan as a “slave“, while others were thinking why would you take some Cristian slave over so much treasure that they had… he was 10 steps in front of everyone else for choosing Aethelstan who could teach him about his enemy and make his raids so much easier and having advantage… thats IQ!!!
The scene where they attacked people in Church and him waiting for the bell’s to ring, while others were confused and had no idea what are they waiting for…😊
i think ragnar truly instilled all the confidence ivar needed to become who he was by the end of the series. when he told him to make everyone fear the name ivar the boneless before going off to his death was chilling, and from then on ivar did just that
@wipedfromexistence3693 I think it's just unfair to compare ragnar to any other medieval character depicted in a show or movie. he might be one of the most iconic performances honestly, dude is so cold
I know he's a horrible person. But, Ivar is my hero.I grew up with braces and forearm crutches. So he's kinda my hero. My parents treated me like a normal person. Because I was, my legs were jacked up
@every_username_is_taken I liked him. I never got into breaking bad. But I loved that he had the attitude towards his CP that he did. Bugged the crap out of me that lots of people thought oh crap, what's this kid going to do when his dad dies. Go to school, get a job ,get married, and have kids. Just like everyone else.
He wasn't impressed or noticing anything other than his legs played a lot on ivars mind thats why he gets rid of that weaknesses as soon as they get to England
I always liked Ivar's character as a strong, sharp-minded, and determined son of Ragnar. It's hard to say that he was cruel, but rather fought for what he believed in.
You can't really feel it until you start to realize that crutches weren't really a thing in the community. He did that on his own. That's the intelligence he's feeling and seeing.
that was not quite how Ragnar Lodbrok's saga was told. But the series was good. ivar (Ívarr inn beinlausi) was perhaps rather legless (impotent and childless, could not get his leg to stand)
Or he got his nickname because he was born with cartilage instead of bone; otherwise he was tall and handsome and the brightest of the couple's children.
Really? Isn't someone whose legs don't work a liability? Raids were brutal and needed to be swift. I mean I respect the hustle and all but battlefield conditions are chaotic, any number of things could decentralize him and expose him to a killing blow. Someone bumps into him? Shield bash? Trip and fall over a dead body? Someone knocks a crutch away from him? I'm not putting the guy down for being disabled, these are legitimate concerns 😂 Asking for trouble bro.
He was more of a commander and was almost always on horseback, concerns are valid and I’m 100% sure the Vikings would not of taken random disabled people with them.. however I could definitely see the leader of a battle party bringing his disabled yet tactically brilliant son with him 🤷♂️
Someone else already commented it but historically ivar 'the boneless' was probably called that for a personality or mental characteristic rather than literally being paralyzed. There was an English king named ethelred 'the unready' which meant 'ill advised',, so nicknames could have different meanings in old or middle English even if they still work in modern day.
That’s called believing in yourself and pure will power. Don’t let anyone make you think you’re dumb, you aren’t! You were created by a living God, act like it!
he didn't see intelligence he saw determination he ripped those off him in the next episode and said he shouldn't try to be like everyone else and made him crawl
It's probably his bravely he admired back then if was crippled was either killed or left alone but ivar was proving that he's strong also and he likely never expected him to grow into anything special and seeing his spirit to prove himself probably earned his respect
Yes but later in the next episode Ragnar strip them away from Ivar, he starts screaming at Ivar that he should accept who he is instead of trying to be like others.

Also the oracle prophesied it when Bjorn was around 12
God I miss ragnar
What a scene. It's Like Ragnar's stressing/worrying about whats ahead and to see Ivar prepared and ready to go changes his mindset completely. The will to carry on and not be broken by it all makes you one badass for sure.
Ivar was a bit smarter when it comes to taktics on the battlefield. But Ragnar high battle Intelligence and taktikel intelligence made him overall smarter then Ivar.
Ragnars coffin idea was the best one in the series
Don‘t forget on the beginning as Ragnar took Athelstan as a “slave“, while others were thinking why would you take some Cristian slave over so much treasure that they had… he was 10 steps in front of everyone else for choosing Aethelstan who could teach him about his enemy and make his raids so much easier and having advantage… thats IQ!!!
The scene where they attacked people in Church and him waiting for the bell’s to ring, while others were confused and had no idea what are they waiting for…😊
Taktikel 😂
@@fireraassassin3911 They kill oder slave too😅😂
We need that spinoff about where Ragnar was for them 9 yrs
A short film ❤️
And he never gave up
Ivar, the Boneless...
I like to hear his scream: I AM IVAR THE BONELESS 👌
i think ragnar truly instilled all the confidence ivar needed to become who he was by the end of the series. when he told him to make everyone fear the name ivar the boneless before going off to his death was chilling, and from then on ivar did just that
I’d say it’s more about determination than intelligence
Ivar has intellect and will of his father. The most important qualities of Ragnar
Ragnar one of the best characters in Vikings
Those 2 actors are untouchable. My favorite of all
After watching Vikings, we are watching The Last Kingdom…Vikings is at a whole different level.
but TDL is also very very good show, I love both tbh, Untried and his boys are all such good characters etc. TDL 9/10 show - Vikings 10/10 imo
i could never get into TLK.. literally none of the characters had that "catch" like soooo many characters from vikings have..
@wipedfromexistence3693 I think it's just unfair to compare ragnar to any other medieval character depicted in a show or movie. he might be one of the most iconic performances honestly, dude is so cold
Волю и дух воина ничто не сломит.
The 2 best actors in the entire show.
When you see your weakest son become the strongest son. A man's fear and pride takes over!!
If I had a kid or employee held back, I would tell him the same.
Keep up. We have a war to fight.
The exact father he needed. The superiority of fatherhood at its best.
He gave him the Dad approval by giving him a joke about it lol
I know he's a horrible person. But, Ivar is my hero.I grew up with braces and forearm crutches. So he's kinda my hero. My parents treated me like a normal person. Because I was, my legs were jacked up
Ummm Ivar is a very interesting and fascinating character...and at the end he really changed after Rus....but he was a maniac 😂
Serious question: what are your thoughts on Walter Jr? 😂😂
Your a warrior!👍🤟😎🙏
He wasn't impressed or noticing anything other than his legs played a lot on ivars mind thats why he gets rid of that weaknesses as soon as they get to England
I always liked Ivar's character as a strong, sharp-minded, and determined son of Ragnar. It's hard to say that he was cruel, but rather fought for what he believed in.
Ragnar recognized Ivar's will! Great scene 👏
Except for once they got to England he told him to crawl because he moved so slow with those
He was high as fuck manipulated by a Chinese women i dont think he thought about that😂😂😂
But what about his war stratagies
What???
He’s been off drugs for nearly a decade at this point. The woman is also long gone.
Dang, I really loved the seizure inducing flickering! Incredible aesthetic choice!
Great moment. Ivar was the only one of his sons willing to travel with him.
I don't really think ivar making crutches made him realise his intelligense but yeah
What's the background music, someone may please
Transgender crystal castle
@@ThrE3-GeS Thank you
You can't really feel it until you start to realize that crutches weren't really a thing in the community. He did that on his own. That's the intelligence he's feeling and seeing.
“Hurry up we got a tide to catch” 😂
never underestimate the power with in
Music name
Transgender crystal castle
Travis man he acts with his eyes fantastic
This is one of the best parts in the whole series...the Ivar and Ragnar bonding trip
Song name?
Transgender crystal castle
Music = nope.
when he realized Ivar was the missing piece for his last quest
" com on donkey. " 💀
that was not quite how Ragnar Lodbrok's saga was told. But the series was good. ivar (Ívarr inn beinlausi) was perhaps rather legless (impotent and childless, could not get his leg to stand)
Or he got his nickname because he was born with cartilage instead of bone; otherwise he was tall and handsome and the brightest of the couple's children.
@@danrrolland9389 you do realize this is fiction right? They weren't even related.
@@jeffposter6832 i know
He was more of a commander and was almost always on horseback, concerns are valid and I’m 100% sure the Vikings would not of taken random disabled people with them.. however I could definitely see the leader of a battle party bringing his disabled yet tactically brilliant son with him 🤷♂️
Wasn’t that basically an intended suicide raid?
Sir, this is Wendy's...
Because it’s a tv show
Someone else already commented it but historically ivar 'the boneless' was probably called that for a personality or mental characteristic rather than literally being paralyzed. There was an English king named ethelred 'the unready' which meant 'ill advised',, so nicknames could have different meanings in old or middle English even if they still work in modern day.
It's the "I knew you could do it" mindset for me
Travis truly embodied Ragnar so well. I had never heard of Travis before this show and he will ALWAYS be Ragnar.
That’s called believing in yourself and pure will power. Don’t let anyone make you think you’re dumb, you aren’t! You were created by a living God, act like it!
Were not created by a god.
Why do you people feel the need to bring God into everything? It's really annoying.
he didn't see intelligence he saw determination he ripped those off him in the next episode and said he shouldn't try to be like everyone else and made him crawl
Im am expert of TWD, Sopranos, Peaky Blinders from shorts. Guess its time for Vikings
