Woman who's been teaching over 40 years gets a big Secret Santa surprise in front of her students

The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local Secret Santa give $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season. Every day, from now until Christmas, we will post videos of the recipients being surprised with these life-changing gifts.
Lesa is truly one of a kind. She is always looking at the bright side of things in everything she does. She believes there is good in everyone and she treats everyone like they are part of her family.
She has been a teacher for over 40 years. She is constantly looking for new ways to improve the school and her own classroom. She takes extra classes on her own time frequently just to learn, is always the last to leave the school and she’s the one most teachers go to for help.
Lesa believes in the importance of human contact. She calls her students' parents to share everyday triumphs and struggles along with school updates. You see a student crying in the hallway and nine times out of ten, Lesa will be there comforting that student. Her love for people and her drive to help people carry over to the community as well. She is a long-time translator for the Spanish community in her church and for the local police department.
The past six months have been rough for Lesa. A tree fell on her front porch which they use mainly to get into their house. Her husband has some major medical issues and will possibly be wheelchair-bound sooner than later.
Almost all of her appliances are either broken, halfway broken or on their last leg. She is wringing out her laundry right now because something is wrong with her washer and they can’t figure out what is wrong. Her oven doesn’t work anymore also.
In October, while they were out visiting one of their sons, someone came and stole all of their chickens which they rely on for eggs. It’s been one thing after another and it’s to the point where they just don’t have the money to fix it all.
Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves to pay Lesa a visit and bring her an early Christmas gift. Watch the video above to see the surprise!

And through all that strife, she smiles and has kept her sense of humor. What a wonderful woman. She definitely puts out positive energy. So happy she was a recipient of Secret 🎅🏼’s giving.
I couldn't have said it better! She is indeed remarkable and so deserving of a break, a much needed gift. I'm happy that her students were able to witness it. I hope she spends every penny of that gift on herself and her husband.
Oh I am crying…I hope someone gets her front porch all fixed for her and with a wheelchair ramp if her husband is going to need one in the future. And the new appliances what a blessing will that be for her. Thank you Secret Santa because this teacher truly needed you this year and now with these two stresses off of her I hope she can get some new chickens too 🥰

She looked stunned, surprised and am sure as soon as the cameras stopped she cried. Had to believe when money like that is gifted to you. Such a deserving 40 years teaching woman. All that has happened to her & her husband, yet you were greeted warmly and with such laughter. Strong woman, impressive. I didn't know her name until now, however, she glows knowing how much their lives are going to change in just a few minutes time. The teacher was full of joy and enthusiasm. She was also immensely grateful for all the help.

Peggy is my friend and she am absolutely lovely human. I watch her and don't know how she's not bawling her eyes because I know how much she loves and cares for all. She really is an amazing human. I wouldn't be in the career I am without her love and encouragement when I was 20 years old. Love you Peggy!
I’m in England, but seeing all of these really restores my hope in humanity. That Santa is doing a really wonderful thing giving back a little hope to these amazing people. What a lovely way to share your wealth

I'm nearly 40 now. I still remember the kindest teachers getting me through real hardships in life. One fav memory is Ms. Kaminski picking a weed in the yard and letting my tears water it 😢. Childhood full with hospitals etc. I'll never forget her kindness.
I live in india, southern state kerala, the highest literated state... But people in kerala carrying a bad reputation about american life style, personal, family, community, whenever i tried to tell about the positive side, most of them never agrees with me, so stopped it
Instead I myself started to elevate by watching these videos🙏
So many properly good people quietly suffering while they devote their lives to helping others. Then along comes Nate on behalf of the wonderful Secret Santa.

I am so glad Secret Santa could help her and her husband. To whomever stole their chickens........give them back. Whether you were in need when you took them makes no difference. This kind lady would probably have shared the eggs, if you just asked!
1 thing I realized from binge watching all these: just because a person doesn't sob uncontrollably doesn't mean they don't appreciate it. You could tell she really appreciated it but probably has had to build up a tough exterior being around these dang kids for 41 years. Happy for her. Life always has a funny way of working out and these go to show you that not having enemies and just being a kind person goes a long way. After all...its probably her neighbors or people she works with at that very school that wrote in about her. Happy Holidays.
Wow, Secret Santa really went above and beyond in this one; not only much needed, new appliances, but the 10G in cash on top of it. That extra dough will come in handy, no doubt, once her husband becomes wheelchair-bound, which I'm hoping was just speculation and not factual, fingers crossed.

Yes, her expression when Nate said that changed. It's the only moment she looked exasperated and then she looked that way about the thief.
It would be great if her students from the past who are still in the area get together to fix her porch and build the ramp for her husband.

What a dedicated teacher, she clearly loves what she does to still be teaching and such a lovely happy woman, even with all the issues they have had she still has a smile on her face so deserving of this gift Secret Santa !!! Not having a working oven …it’s amazing how much more difficult it makes life, you tend to take it for granted, AND a washing machine, I wouldn’t be able to wring out anything, my hands have no strength. Life will definitely be better with all new appliances plus the cash to help with whatever they need, a very deserving woman.

Ms. Lesa seems like such a caring, giving person. New appliances and home repairs are so expensive and I know having the ability to purchase what she needs will make her life so much easier ‼️

What a valuable teacher and great person! Her humor and her obvious dedication to her children and there is something very notable and genuine about her tone and interactions. Every single SS video brings us a deserving person for different reasons........ but you know what... Nate is correct - no way does she looks like she’s in her 60s. She is truly a deserving person.
We definitely need to take care of teachers like her they're rare breed of people far and few between they are so the ones we have that are like her need to be taken care of they're shaping the minds of our future and we need a good person to shape those little minds so thank you for teaching children how to be good humans! I’m experiencing similar issues in My 40 year old home, that I’ve been in 30years, with 30(move in buys)-40(original to house!)year old Done home appliances, & some rooms still sporting original carpet, but I Thankfully Just got my heat pump worries bandaged, with some duct work & insolation Still an issue, bc of raccoons tearing out a bunch,& who also rendered my fire place Useless as well, that insurance covers None of. I live on SS Disability that I’m Also thankful to receive, & my disabled Doxie & I are now warm, & we have food, enjoy our Treats, are dry, & have a Cozy completely paid off roof over our heads, with Many Family & Friend Memories made here,& Internet to watch these Amazing Stories every day, & I feel Extremely Blessed!!! For many like me, which seems to include this Awesome & Loved teacher, it’s Very difficult, actually 99.99% Impossible(we Are human!)to throw oneself a Pity Party, when we Know we have sooooo much more than too many people, who have Far Greater Needs than us. Joy comes from giving others the things we no longer need, that someone else Does,& give to those as we can. It’s Amazing what a Basic, Simple, & Free “Hello!”&”How are ya today?”or”Love your Outfit!”& “Let me help with that!”,can do for neighbors, or busy people you are passing in stores. Things on the Societal Whole, haven’t changed much for The Better in my Lifetime, especially with the sad disconnect to those we call our neighbors & Community, but beams of sunshine Are making it through the clouds,& adding up to HOPE,& This channel is Proof of that!!! More Are “paying it forward”around the World, bc of this One channel,& reconnecting with GOD as well!!! Merry Christmas, with prayers up for a Fantastic, Giving,& Loving New Year for All!!!🙏
