A last minute Secret Santa Christmas Eve surprise for a teenager battling cancer

The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy this holiday season helping a local man gift $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho. Secret Santa is a real person who wants to remain anonymous and hopes to bless as many individuals in our community as he can.
Audrey is a friendly, enthusiastic 7th-grade student in Rigby who recently began having leg pain. Her parents took her to doctors, and after a variety of tests, she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma - an aggressive form of bone cancer.
Audrey has spent the past two months going back and forth to Salt Lake City with her mom for cancer treatment, including chemotherapy. She has many surgeries and appointments ahead of her as she deals with this diagnosis.
She has been in the hospital the past few weeks and was not expected to be home for Christmas, but late Friday evening she was released to return to eastern Idaho!
The East Idaho News elves made a last minute emergency trip to make sure Audrey could receive the gifts from Secret Santa. Watch the video above to see the surprise!

Not only did Nate and his family spend their Christmas Eve making the night special for a lovely family, so did the people who edited and published this video. Massive appreciation to the entire crew for your dedication this season.
Cancer is a dreaded diagnosis for anyone but when it hits your child, it can be devastating. I'm so happy that Secret Santa gave them gifts that will take some of the financial stress and worry off of their minds. I pray she has a complete recovery.

I like the "adult elves" but the elves in training are so delightful. Nate is teaching his elves some good things each time they go along

Still so young for this heck of a cancer. Mum seems so touched, knowing someone cared for her baby girl. What a way to spent Christmas, not knowing if your child is going to make it through. Great choice, great season Swcret Santa.

@Ray & J's L.G.S given Nate’s job, there’s no doubt in my mind he has to get tested and is vaxxed already. I know that doesn’t mean he couldn’t be Asymptomatic and might pass it on to others, but he probably also does an antigen test daily.

Those of us who are feeling sad and frustrated, because the Omicron virus has shut down many of our Christmas plans, need to count our blessings. Having our social events limited is such a small sacrifice, compared to all this family is shouldering. Thank you Nate for working on Christmas Eve.
