- MALAD - Abby Toone is an amazing woman and strong woman. She recently lost her husband, Jonathan, in a freak accident and is now a single mother to four young kids under the age of 10.
Jon was working on their Malad land in September when he was stung by three wasps. He began losing breath and his heart was racing. He called Abby and she dialed 911.
Jon drove as fast as he could to get help, but collapsed at a neighbor’s home when he could no longer drive. He died there in Abby’s arms at the age of 37. They took him to the hospital to try and revive him, but it was in vain.
Prior to this accident, Abby supported Jon as he joined the United States Army and served his country. He held the rank of a specialist and was in support of the 19th special forces group in conducting unconventional warfare during the global war on terror.
Abby is always unselfish and looking to help others. She is a cosmetologist and is known to give free haircuts and makeovers for those that need a hand and are unable to pay for it. Even when her own family was doing without, Abby would still reach out and help those around her.
Due to the freak nature of the incident, Abby is waiting for Jon’s life insurance policy to be settled as it is being investigated. She is struggling to pay bills for her family and provide Christmas while trying to adjust to being a single parent and widow of only a few months.
Secret Santa knew he wanted to do something to help Abby and he asked the EastIdahoNews.com elves to surprise her with an early Christmas gift. Santa’s sleigh was unavailable so the elves used the next best thing to deliver the present - the EastIdahoNews.com helicopter! Abby and her children even got to enjoy a ride on the chopper.
Watch the video above to see how it all turned out.
And they took the kids on a helicopter ride?! You guys are amazing
And how thrilled those children must have been!!! They were pretty stoked when they thought they were only going to get to take a look inside of it.
That is an experience those kids will NEVER forget!
Im 39 ive never been on a helicopter!! Always wanted to hahahahahahahahaha..great job secret santa..kids are happy
P/s: actually ive always wanted KITT from Knight Rider!! Hahahahahah
@L. Ron Hubbard Yeah I don't trust helicopters at all, there are more fatal crashes with them than with airplanes, because they just fall down from the sky like a rock, while some airplanes can glide well even if their engine has problem.
So I was thinking the same damn, if they fall down, that mother will just commit suicide right there... so in my opinion it was rahter bad idea. :D
Those kids.. So humble well mannered. I just melted when they said thank you.
@Linda - same here... it really bring me to tears
Yeah, They seem so well raised. That may be the only reason to give her such present.
Yeah my heart definitely exploded in awe of the munchkins
Agreed!
The little boy said Thank You immediately. Shows you good kids come from Good parents.
When the little boy said he didn’t want anything for Christmas...my heart 💔
I know right...
😭💞
He wants his dad.
He's the man of the house now. Got to be strong for others❤
Such a humble lil boy
I cried and cried over this one. All they wanted is their father back. Poor kids. Poor woman with 4 young kids to,feed and clothe. She needed this money.
What is there to investigate at length with the life insurance? He was military (decent cover) and it was a freak anaphylactic accident!! How can it be a complex case?
Oh my god me too because we all know what they really want for Christmas but it will hurt Mom if they keep calling and asking for him
If you look at his children, he must have been a great person and father
I lost my dad when i was 7 to suicide. I have 2 brothers one was 9 and one almost 3 I am the middle child. We wouldn't be the guys we are today without my momma. Looking back now I wouldn't change the way things went. Hands down to all the single moms and dads out there. HUGE JOB!
Sorry to hear that. I feel you on that one, I lost my father when I was 9 to suicide, as well. Shot himself in the head in the middle of the early morning while we slept in the other room and that woke us up. No life insurance that I know of, and even if he would have had it, they don't cover suicides. A $50 bill in his wallet. Very little in a checking, funeral bill, mortgage, two kids (my brother was about 12), my mother didn't have 'a' job, etc. She worked sometimes 2-3 jobs to provide a roof over our heads. My father had a couple of head injuries when he was younger. As a young kid, he somehow fell out of a car and split his head open and they put a metal plate in it to close the wound. I remember being able to touch a quarter-sized plate further down into his head below the scalp level. When he was older, some other teens or guys (we're not sure of the exact details) beat him over the head with a bad and he went home and vomited and slept for a couple of days. I think one or both of those contributed to him becoming schizophrenic and thinking "aliens" were out to get him and doing things to his body. Mom tried to get him help, but they wanted an affidavit from his family members and his sorry brothers and family weren't helpful. The psychiatrists weren't helpful and neither was the hospital. It's a shame that she didn't have more help from her husband. He was pretty aggressive and violent with family. The local welfare and such said the household "made too much money to qualify"...using his income that was already spent for the year as a basis.
💘
@@StephenLyons-tl8ie Man I needed a reply to jump me back to this message today. My step dad passed Sunday morning. He contributed more to the men we are today then I ever realized...
Those sad look on the kids' faces shows they're still mourning over their dad passing😭
Ya when nate asked what they wanted you could tell all they wanted was their dad, that broke my heart omg
@@Whynotcreate I saw it too. That’s the first thing I thought of. This was their first Christmas without their father. I bet that’s the only thing they wanted.
That is so very sad. My deepest condolences to the widow and her family.
When I forget to be human or get caught up in the hate that is so prevalent in our world, I watch these videos and other videos on acts of kindness. They remind that to be human is to empathize and show compassion to your fellow man.
they definitely spur altruism
notice how the comment sections here aren't as toxic as other videos too...this is the happy place of youtube!
Here I am, sitting in a Pennsylvania needing a dose of humanity. Whoever you are Secret Santa, thank you for helping out all of these deserving people.
@ caspian seas. We are all in the world now. We have opportunities to do bad. As for me, I trust the Bible to live and do good. I just wanted to share. Thank you.
so true
One of the best Secret Santas I've seen. The kids were so polite and love it how their eyes lit up when asked if they wanted to see the helicopter...and then ride in it!! Fabulous.
Those kids will remember the helicopter ride and that people cared about them.
Another tearjerker. What a brave, strong woman this is - her inner and outer beauty shines through in spite of having just had her wisdom teeth pulled. :-) She has the most beautiful four children! I hope she is doing well now, a year later, and that she has receive the insurance money. And, to the Secret Santa if you read this: your good heart touches not only the recipients of your kindness, but also all of us who watch this. Thank you! God bless!
Very well stated EMS! I'm in total agreement with everything you said!
Amen!
Oh My God those kids are adorable the little girl wanted a stuft animal and the Boy didn't want anything! All of them were saying Thank You! Those parents have done a good job raising those children!!
took my breath away. little 😇 Angel
More kids today should be like that....
Steely Dan 5000 You are just hilarious. 🤓
They know they have no money for gifts.
I could see that the kids were unselfish and knew of the struggles that their Mom was having. It shows a lot about the parenting of these children. This is an AMAZING MOM! The gratefulness in her eyes was clear. Thank you for these great Secret Santa surprises. It changes lives! Thank you Secret Santa!
I am single 🎄🎁😍😍❤❤🌷🌷
Do you have anything on your wish list?
The older boy was thinking "I want my dad back." I could see it in his eyes.
ye i saw it too, but then he taught if i say that my mom will broke, so he dident.
Yep. I saw that also. He wanted to say it but knew he couldn't have that wish. 😔
I've need wishing that for 30 years...
It did look like that, I was thinking the same thing.
Who ever secret Santa is what a blessing you are to so many people! Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to you and your family!

East Idaho News is the best I swear. The helicopter ride for the kids to top if off and give them a treat for christmas? AMAZING. The little girl just asking for a stuffed animal and the boy saying he doesn't need anything was so sweet, I bet they enjoyed that ride so much! What a horrible horrible situation they've been left in, I hope this brightens their day a little, and lets hope the future brings them some happiness.
If dad is looking down he must be so proud of his family - humbleness is such an endearing quality - i hope they never lose that x
"What do you want for Christmas?" "A stuffed animal" That's when the tears started. Those children were all under ten and maybe not grasping how hard things are for their mother and all she wanted was a stuffed animal.
Everyone, if you don't have an Epi-Pen and find yourself having an allergic reaction, have some benadryl in your home, in your purse, or in your car. You will still need emergency treatment, but it will give you time to get to the hospital. I am so sorry for this woman and her family and her dear husband who died. Thank you, Secret Santa, for giving this woman a boost. Merry Christmas to you and your lovely children, Abby. Hang in there. xo
Good idea! I don't know if he knew he was allergic so that's where it gets tricky. My brother learned he was allergic to wasp stings this year after he took a bat to a nest in his yard (yeah bad idea lol) and ended up in the ER after a bad reaction. He lived thank goodness.
You can only get that through prescription where I live, but still good to let people know who can get it.
@@Aega1107 Hiya! I don't know if I am allergic to wasps or bees or hornets or whatever, but I was told by a nurse that IN CASE I ever had an allergic reaction to anything, that once I started experiencing symptoms to take some Benadryl. Again, it won't stop the attack, but it will buy a person time in order to get to a hospital for treatment.
@@Missditabomb or an antihistamine if you don't have Benadryl
@@Brucev7 Yes, Benadryl is an anti-histamine. Benadryl is the Brand Name, but you can find generic anti-histamine on the shelves or with the pharmacist. In fact, Nytol and Sominex, (sleeping aids) are anti-histamines with the drowsy property kept in. Claritin is an anti-histamine. Most of these products come in a drowsy, (the drug advertisers call it "Night-time") or non-drowsy formulations.
Very proud dad looking down on his children. They are very polite. Saying thank you so quick. Helicopter ride is just a big bonus. 🚁
Crying like a baby right now. What a complete tragedy, and yet she and their kids were dealing with the loss of their husband/father better than I deal with a bit of a bad day! Total respect for them!!
Darn darn, life can be so unfair. He look like he was a good man just by his smile. Thank God they still have their Mom, bless them. 🙏😊
The kids are so calm and polite, they're adorable 🥺
You guys are wonderful! Please tell your Secret Santa that they are much loved and appreciated. I know by the work being done that Santa doesn't want a lot of applause but a lot of lives are being touched and even changed because of your tender heart and generosity. Thank you so much.
She's beautiful...
Too sad she's alone.
Hope she finds happiness again.
Oh, WOW...Here this woman loses her husband..and she keeps on keeping on...has her wisdom teeth pulled, and still keeps smiling...she's a real trooper. This gift doesn't heal any of her problems, but eases the financial burdens... God bless this woman..she's a testimonial to strength.
those children will forever remember their first helicopter ride. Merry Christmas.
We all need more videos like these on here. The hate that is out there today is unbelievable. It’s a shame we all can’t go back to the way it was in the early 70’s and just care about one another. It’s something that our country truly needs right now.
I hope she’s doing ok now. What a freak accident. I’m so glad this was done for her.
It’s amazing that someone anonymously donates to these families.

I was so shocked and thrilled to tears when they got to ride in the helicopter...magnificent! Geez...wasps!?!? Horrible thing to hav happen to anyone, much less a hearty, healthy looking soldier that probably had no clue he was allergic to wasp/hornet stings. It didn’t say, but I hope they have strong family and community support in addition to our favorite Secret Santa. Best wishes to this beautiful family going forward.

Giving the kids a ride was the best part of the clip. Something they otherwise would probably never get to do. That was awesome!!
“Just a stuffed animal” that’s so precious 🥺
I really love this one. This one impressed me for the fact that Nate took the initiative to give the kids a helicopter ride.I mean i almost think even before Nate got the full question out of asking the kids if they wanted to see inside the helicopter the little girl was saying yes.I can watch her doing that, her eyes lit up as she said yes.The secret santa part was touching as well because im sure seeing her face it lifted a major financial burden from her even if for only a while.Truly a great pick for receiving a wonderful blessing.
What is there for the insurance company to investigate??? Allergic reaction to insect stings is a pre-existing condition??? Gimme a break....
@Chana Bayla and then again they probably didn't even know he was allergic to bee stings. SMH. Get your facts straight before you Yap pure BS. I was never allergic to bee stings and then one time I got stung by a bee and I started going into anaphylactic shock.
And as usual, the insurance company will happily take your payments every month, but as soon as it's time for them to payout, now that's a whole nother story.

Sometimes I wonder how much The Secret Santa cries from watching these.
I'm sure he/she does with every one of them, probably more than once, probably just reading the letters that get submitted is bad enough, and knowing he/she cannot help everyone would be even harder for me. I couldn't imagine being able to do stuff like this for people, I'd love it, but at the same time, you would continually have that feeling of hurt, loss, helplessness, even not being a part of the family, you'd still have feelings for the people/families involved.
That’s so sad for that beautiful family, to lose their husband and father so early. Lot’s of prayers being said for them all. I hope they can remain a tight knit family and go on strong. She’s a wonderful mother and the kiddos are so humble and well behaved. I hope they are blessed many more times.
Bee sting allergies are nothing to mess around with. I became deathly allergic last summer. Eyes swelled shut. Couldn't breathe. Lips swelled up like a ducks bill. Got through it and now have eppie pens to inject the moment I get stung next time. I wasn't allergic until last summer. So sad her husband didn't have life saving eppie pen. May be he didn't know he was allergic.
Two stories: 1) Woman at a donut shop, asked for a plain donut, asked about nuts, was assured that there were no nuts on or in the donut. She didn't ask about the oil it was cooked in. Peanut oil. She dropped dead at the cash register, as she took a bite of the donut while paying for it. 2) We offered a chocolate to a friend of ours, he chose the chocolate covered brazil nut. Immediately, his throat swelled, we just barely got him to the hospital in time (it was close by). Doctor cut a hole in his throat so he could breathe. He had no idea he was allergic to anything. Allergies can happen at anytime in your life. Best to carry an epi-pen just in case.
Silli Lilli Someone here in Canada allergic to nuts died because he was sandblasting and they used walnut shells as the medium. Very sad.

I really like the way you include photos of the deceased loved ones at the end of the applicable family episode. On the one hand, it may seem to be deepening the sorrow ; on the other hand, it makes the departed one seem to be still part of the family and not too too far away from their loved ones. It seems to really help the family to be able to talk about the one they lost on a familiar basis and to keep them in their 'midst' in a much familial way.
I think of the relationship I have with my father, and it makes me sad for these children. The mother seems like a very good, strong woman though, you can tell by the way she responded. I hope life is good for them.
