      I know that at some distance (example, just throwing out a number, 75 yds.), the unique rds can vere off course by a few feet.

    Thank you so much for these tests. I was glad to see that the results of the xtreme penetrator near the fixture versus the top of the sheet were similar. I thought the difference in shot location "would matter" more. Great accidental sanity check. This test deserves WAAYYYYYYY more thumbs up and views !!!! Well done !!!!

    The metal sheets have a lot of flex since they are only secured on the bottom, try the same test with a board on the top securing all of the sheets and then you’ll get more realistic results. If you’re using these in real life car doors, windshield and body’s aren’t going to flex that way

      Thanks for running these tests and posting the results. I do agree that there is a lot of flex on the top of the plates. This might have an influence on things, depending on where the bullet enters the sheet top to bottom. Maybe supporting the tops would be something to try and see if the results vary. Thanks again!

      I'd guess there would be deeper penetration on rigid sheet metal. All that "give" is wasted energy.

    • @Radvous
      @Radvous 29 дней назад +1

      The problem with a lot of these more powerful calibers is the wasted case space. They seat those bullets so far that they take up over half the case, such a waste. If they loaded those rounds like 9mm where a smaller portion of the bullet is actually sitting in the case, leaving lots of room for powder, these would be much more efficient rounds.

    Interesting to note about how much energy it takes to put a dent into some 16ga steel. It would take a good size hammer, and a good swing to make a dent like that in one go. I have used hardcasts with the factory Glock barrel with no problem. Just make sure you clean the barrel more frequently and are using a high brinell hardness hardcast not a mediumcast or soft cast. You want a true hardcast. I got the upgraded barrel for better accuracy and for the threaded barrel so I can use my suppressor and slightly longer. It has a tighter chamber too.

    The thing about 10 mm ammo is finding a load worthy of the gun which isn't easy. I've seen other videos where most factory loaded 10 mm struggle to stay on par with a standard 40 cal s&w round over a chronograph and in gel. It's also odd how some people would have totally differing results using the same ammo. Also I have noticed that I have yet to see a round nose fmj in either 40 cal or 10mm. I don't have a 10 mm, I just have a 9mm. I have seen gel penetration tests where average 115 gr 9mm range ammo and again in gel, out penetrate both hard cast and extreme penetrator. The ammo inc is the real deal. I have both 115 gr jhp, 115 gr fmj, as well as some 124 gr fmj ammo inc for my 9mm. The jhp as only nine bucks for a box of 20. Compared to sometimes nearly thirty buck for a box of 25 hornady critical defense or duty it's a no brainer. And the ammo inc fmj box of 50 9mm was only 13 a box.

    • @shawnsanders9450
      @shawnsanders9450 4 месяца назад

      I don't know. I think the Xtreme penetrator is better for Grizzlies. Brown bear have so much mass and the skull is so thick you want to go through as much as you can as deep as you can and the last thing you want is bullets skipping off the skull rather than going through it and if you don't hit head think about how thick everything is until you get to the vitals? Velocity is more important than weight. Just my opinion though. Recently watched The Revenent and man. That would be one of the worst ways to go in the world. Got me thinking what would I want in case of that situation. I'm thinking chest rig with a Glock model 40 and 3 15 round mags of Underwood extreme penetrators and that's just my backup. Primary I would want a Ruger SFAR 16" in .308 with 5 20rd mags because it would be the lightest package to carry with the most firepower for something like that. Heck I mean a AR in 338 Lapua would be best but I can't afford one of those and that's really heavy to go hiking with. I don't have either of those yet but I'm gonna get both and see how they handle on a long hike.

    Why do some people have kkm barrels for 10mm glocks?

    • @shawnsanders9450
      @shawnsanders9450 4 месяца назад +1

      For longer barrels and to use compensaters and suppressors. Also caliber changes. For instance a Glock model 22 or 35 will get you like over 6 guns. For instance if you buy a Glock model 35 you can get a KKM barrel for 357 sig and 9mm. You can also put a Glock model 22 slide on it and then do the same. 9mm barrel and 357 sig barrel. When you change calibers all you really need is the conversion barrel and a new magazine for that caliber. Its why when I buy Glocks I get them in .40 cal so I can have MANY different guns out of 1 frame.
