Great interview. Thoroughly enjoyed it because it sounded more like an informal chat than an interview which made it more interesting. Hopeful for the Deadwing movie and nice mention of the Bond theme. I've been pushing this idea for ages.
This is a great interview. And i've seen and heard lots of interviews with SW. Good questions. A very open SW too. I guess all these parameters have to be there in a good way to get this result. Good work, i enjoyed listening to it.
Wow! Great interview! Exactly talking about all those things I am very interested in! I am completely in love with Steven' s love affair and would love to listen to him anytime...😉😉😉❤
I think this was a great interview. And it brings out many things about him. (All my opinions. Don't get offended) He manages to avoid a lot of questions and doesn't really answer to the point now which is unlike his earlier interviews. And as much as he says that he doesn't care about stardom, fame or money - I do think he does now. He dismisses them but strangely knows about all these mainstream things which he (apparently) had no idea about. And that's fine as well. Nothing wrong with that.
Steven's extremely popular in India.. especially among the college circles.. but he's the sort of guy you might not stumble upon otherwise.. Somehow, porcupine tree and modern prog rock has caught up in a big way..
You can make music on a shoe string budget these days. For example a Presonus sound module with Studio One will be enough to record a hit (musical and production talent permitting).
Hey there, I have no way to contact Steve. I am from India. Steven had come to India for HCE tour but his tour dates for the first leg do not show India currently. Please can you somehow ( you might have his email or something..) convey him that there are quite a lot of fans here and he needs to do a show here again. It will be of great help. thank you.
Oh for fuck sake! Do you think he has the time and energy to go everywhere in the world? Check his tour schedule. He's busy as hell. Do him a favour and don't press him that hard. He is a human being you fucking idiots.
Calm the fuck down mate. There's nothing wrong with wishing and wanting to see your favourite artist perform. We will patiently wait to lose our shit when he announces that he'd play in India again.
I just had a thought--why I still look younger than I am--I think bc My body stopped replacing cells with new ones around the age 12-13 and so it's no wonder my brain still resides back there! Mckenna thinks our memories are in our genes...but he could be wrong.
I'm very sad. My brother won't talk to me and I know he is mad at me therefore. I wish he'd communicate with me better! What is it with my family not communicating??? We are in America now--let's act like Americans!!!
Quinn Downton - while SW’s solos are excellent, Guthrie’s solo in Drive Home is both technically proficient and emotionally raw. While rare, I don’t think the two are mutually exclusive.
Steven's solo on Halflight live version (Anesthetize dvd), is one of the best things you'll hear from a guitar, and there's many more he's played that are that good. Anyways comparisons between musicians are always silly.
This is one of the best SW interviews I've heard in a very long time. Thanks!
What a terrific interview. Compare and contrast with the half-wits on BBC breakfast. really insightful. Thanks for sharing
At first I read terrifying instead of terrific...
more of these please
Excellent interview, thanks for sharing!
Great interview.
I'll be seeing him at the Royal Albert Hall.
*I really cannot wait.*
It'll be my first time in that iconic venue.

Great interview RAW! Thanks 😀

Great questions all around!
great interview...great questions too...better than many pro hacks!
Great interview!
I'm there in Warwick on 15th, then going to see Joe Bonamassa the day after. What a weekend!
Fantastic interview,

Top questions mate.

I would love to see him score a Christopher nolan film. A movie like Momento or inception with a score by steven wilson could be powerful.
Hey Steven!, what's your favorite Metallica album? Hahaha
I see you tomorow in Frankfurt Alte Oper .-)

I bet he knows already, don't worry
SW does not book gigs, you need to contact the promoter of the Indian HCE tour and get all these fans to contact them.
Many times I've heard him convey that he goes where he's formally invited.

Personally. Those solos are NOT better than "anything Guthrie Govan has even written".
But you are entitled to your opinion
I agree with him. SW's solos are way more honest and emotional than any of the technical "guitar hero" prog solos Guthrie can come up with. imo

Agree, and also 'that' solo on Hand Cannot erase is one of the greatest ever. However, there is far more to an album than 'a' solo!
