This video is a gift. Thank you for giving it to us from the heart. As someone who can no longer attend concerts due to physical ailments, I felt like I was able to be there through your commentary. And I hope you get blessed for being such a blessing to us. Thank you and God bless you.
Thank you so much for watching. I'm so glad that the video is able to help you and make you feel included. Music should be enjoyed by all no matter what the circumstances are. I'm so grateful for all the amazing live footage that was captured! I hope that you continue to enjoy music to the fullest no matter what ❤️
Wonderful and very touching video -- thank you for opening up and sharing. I'm a widower who got to go to Beat's first show with my new love, so hang in there.
Thank you for opening yourself and sharing your experience. Don't worry about "being entertaining" please. We were all at the concert being challenged musicians ourselves. Did more of you senced like the musicians on stage all felt proud to be able to make this music with those other three awesome musicians? And so much fun and joy was expressed while performing! Also huge respect for the sound engineers doing their job at the Massey Hall concert. The sound was exceptionally excellent, and this is judging from the side balcony near the stage, often in the shadows of the PA System. Indeed a concert that could not be missed. Worth all the commitment one had taken to be able to be there. Maybe even better than Crimsons last performance in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.....if those things are comparable.
thank you sir. This was very powerful. Your comments and thoughts are good medicine. I am looking forward to seeing 'Beat' in Vancouver later this month with the same friends i saw KC with in 1984. Travel well friend.
For live presentation of the three studio albums recorded in the early 80’s I think BEAT outshines the King. I saw the show in Indianapolis on 10/30/2024. These guys are playing some complicated music and having a lot of fun at the same time! I liked how the lights were on the musicians while playing and then the house lights came on while the audience did their thing. IT WAS SUCH A TREAT. I hope this band will keep things together, maybe create some new music as well
I saw King Crimson at Massey Hall in '94 (THRAK Tour). This video brought back some good memories. And BTW, after watching all the interviews with Steve Vai leading up to this tour, I was SO VERY impressed with how he did things. How he absolutely nailed Fripp's tones and phrasing while giving an equal measure of his own involvement (as "the incomparable Steve Vai") in performing the songs; He did a real bang-up job! I've rarely been so blown away.
I just saw them a few days ago. What a great show. Best concert I've seen in ages. And, yeah Steve Vai is really amazing with them. Also, you're a cutie, hope you feel better.
Thanks for this video. The best way to overcome your down beat is to take your guitar and play, play, play. My most creative pieces came about while playing with a heavy heart. Greetings from Buenos Aires.
The structure of the first set was a treat at the Cleveland show. It kept building in intensity, very satisfying. Danny's solos live really pop. Set two was a celebration of the band's better known tracks. Thank you Adrian and company for making this happen.
I have two favorites. My sentimental favorite is ‘In The Court of The Crimson King’, and the other is an instrumental called ‘Level 5’, but I have so many favorites with the band King Crimson that it’s virtually impossible for me to really give two songs from the group. I did get to see BEAT at Dallas, Tx. It was definitely a well rehearsed set that kept the audience engaged from start to finish. I felt blessed to have been able to see them. They were a treat to watch and listen.
I saw the first Discipline show in in 1981 at the Savoy in NYC and a fair number of Crimson shows the following years. I also just saw Beat in Fort Lauderdale. While the soul of KC, Robert Fripp, may be absent, the spirit of KC is alive and well in Beat. I'll be honest, I really wanted to see Danny Carey and Steve Vai so I can check them off my list. I've seen Adrian and Tony many times but honestly thank goodness they were in this configuration. There are only so many pieces you can replace and still keep it authentic. Regarding Lark's Tongue at 12:30, it must have taken Steve a few shows to get it to that point because when we saw him, he was doing a tapping technique which was fine but I guess it bugged him enough to figure out Fripp's technique. Just imagine how difficult it must be to adapt your style to one that is so radically different from your own. Also, it was fun watching Adrien fight with 40 year old technology. How any of that stuff is still working is beyond me.
Wasn't sure what I was getting into here. I'm glad I stopped by. (button clicked) [edit] Hey. I added my comment just as the 'post concert' portion of the video began. I guess I thought the video was over or something. Anyway, I just wanted to say that however many people you think cares about you, add one to that number. Cheers.
Did they play "3 of a Perfect Pair"? Probably my favorite song, then "Starless", "Red", and "Matte Kudesai". Oh, how was the volume? Did you need earplugs?
They did play 3 of a Perfect Pair! I always put on earplugs just in case unless it's for acoustic, classical, or jazz shows. I think the volume was really nice from what I remember. Drums hit very hard in a smaller venue like Massey Hall
What's your favourite King Crimson song and album?
Starless
@alisoncoppola2643 same!

@gregjones861 the band is having an online concert on the 10th

This music is seminal to so many musicians. What a blessing for it to FINALLY get the airing it deserves.

Can't believe there's a video of this level already about Beat (the band), props to you, easy sub.
Thanks so much for watching!

Fantastic video on the band and the music and thank you for having me in this!
Thank you so much for your video and for watching. You're so casually talented and I learned a lot from your lesson!

Saw them on the first night of the tout on September 12 in San Jose. It was amazing. Great video..thank you 😊

Ohh level 5 along with the other Larks songs are so cool together! I'm glad you got to see them too!!
Great video!
Thanks!
It’s only a means to an end

I saw Beat recently in Cincinnati. Amazing show.
I didn't care much for "dig me" until I saw the Beat gig. I love it now!
Two og members one of which was the main writer and bro still calling it a cover band 😭
It’s not at cover band!
Just saw the show in Nashville, such an amazing show,, my drummer friend called it " life changing"
As a drummer, I agree. Seeing Danny often has that affect on drummers!
If only wetton were here today, I would’ve loved to have seen a setup like this with wetton in front. R.I.P
Not really a cover band when you have two of the originators of the music in the band.
The latest incarnation of Dutch band Focus is half original members and half tribute band guys
Hard agree

You're really sweet, thank you so much for stopping by :)
I consider them to be King Crimson

Adrian as you know plays guitar. Would that qualify him as a multi-instrumentalist?
Sincer there are original performers beatis not a cover band
Lol
Beat is BETTER THAN King Crimson
