It's kind of funny how, last q&a, he was like "I don't watch television or play videogames, I think those things are a waste of time"
And now he's like: "The new Twin Peaks is so good! and The Last Day of June - Wow! Who knew videogames can actually tell a story!"
It's like he's slowly discovering the world around him. Next thing you know he's gonna start wearing shoes
Last Day of June is a game based on his song "Drive Home" its not his game per say but I would say he was involved in some aspects.
According to this Q&A, his only involvement was giving them the go-ahead to make it. Of course he's still gonna be biased towards a game he's gonna make money off of, but it's nice to see him opening up to the idea of video games as a form of art
To be fair, He WATCHED someone play those games lol

I'm a new fan of Steven Wilson. Also love that he is accessible on RUclips with interviews. I found The To The Bone documentary very interesting. After watching the documentary, I immediately bought the album on vinyl and CD.
Amazing interview! Steven is the one of the few musicians that make his music from the heart without looknig for public's approval, but his.
Steve is awesome, he always has something insteresting to say. He's the kind of person, with which even if you don't quite see eye to eye on every subject. you are still excited to here his opinion.
It took me awhile to get into this album. Pariah was an instant favorite, but the rest took some time to absorb. Now, I think it's one of his very best. So happy I gave it the time it deserves.

Porcupine Tree deserve a documentary, or a road movie as well. This band left a legacy for a thousands of prog rock bands which was influenced due the band.
Steven Wilson doesn't like drugs and he hates playlists. So I smoke weed and listen to playlists with his music in them. Haha love you Steve.

I like that he's a fan of Jóhann Jóhannson. His film scores on many of Denis Villeneuve's films have been exemplary so far, and so original too - which is why Denis continues to recruit him for his films. Sicario and Arrival indeed where phenomenal. And I love his rendition of the Vangelis Blade Runner theme as well while watching the current trailer. Can't WAIT for Blade Runner 2049 - and I'm sure Jóhann will score the new Dune adaptation too! :)
As for the new record - I haven't listened to any of the songs revealed thus far. I'm aware of the criticisms leading up to the album's release - and I do credit him for not retreading his material, however, my expectations for the album aren't high either.

Doesn't really work like that. I know lifelong vegetarians that look older than dirt and have health issues. And then there's my grandmother that is 101 that hasn't really ever done anything unusual diet wise and she's got nothing wrong with her other than getting senile. There are a lot of things that affect our health and many of them are in our genetics.

I was an original pessimist after hearing the 1st 3 poppy videos upon release, and was wondering whether I made a mistake of shelving 57 euro on a concert ticket for March 2018. However, the To the Bone album grows on you, and the only song I cannot and will not accept is Song of I. He didn't tour Ireland for the HCE, which I would have loved to see, as that album was pure beauty. I got to see the Joyce Carol Vincent Dreams of a Life which inspired him to write HCE, and after watching that, my faith has been restored. To be honest, I don't want to know the list of songs he plays and the surprise songs he includes, because he usually tours with the same setlist for the whole tour. Hopefully, Nick Beggs, Adam Holzman etc will be in the lineup too

Felipe Díaz Bo I'm not entirely sure but I believe it was due to a different record company having released them, or something like that. I think SW addressed it in his last live Q&A or a somewhat recent interview.
When he gets asked what the defining trait of his sound is, I expected him to say 'trains'.

Didn't think he would be that talkative and nice... Never seen him beeing interviewed before. By his stageprensence and how he moves and looks on stage(PT and solo shows) I always thought he's authistic in some way. Turns out he's a competly normal human being.

I do think it's rather smart of him to keep his private life private. we really don't have the right to know more than any human wants us to know about them, and he is one of those independent thinkers. not everybody wants a family, either. or even a partner. I think its sad when women or men, but especially women I know, will do anything just to have a partner in life. we are born alone, we die alone, and most of our darkest nights of the soul are struggled with in solitude...its just natural. I can't imagine him being all chummy with his fans or revealing too much. I think most writers reveal what they want to in their writing. not to mention, he doesn't need stalkers, and a good way to get one is to reveal too much. its a crazy world.

I had a bit of an emotional rollercoaster, first wow he's a vegetarian and then oh no he talks about cheese after saying we don't have the right to eat (meaning: kill) other animals for our taste buds. I love Steven Wilson, I really do, but to say that he doesn't agree with 'repeating a winning formula' its hypocritical of him. Just listen to The Same Asylum As Before for example. Is the same music he has been done trough all these years. Aside from that, very good initiative these Q&A Sessions!
Isn't that part of the point of the song though? It's called The Same Asylum as Before, so I assumed the similarities to past PT songs (in particular Stranger By the Minute and Prodigal) were deliberate in this case as they suited the meaning behind the song.
It's just one song. Wait until you see how it fits on the whole record.
You can't make every single song sound different and unique in every way!

God this album is turning me off already just the way Steven talks....he's kinda hokey and snobby.
He can write some good songs but oh man is he an annoying, egotistical phony.. Even Guthrie Govan, though he's a polite enough gent to not blatantly say so, thinks Wilson's a right musical snob and rather up himself.
