i was just curious why you don't build any modular type building on MILS plates initially rather than having to transfer it later? especially the ninjago city sets with all the plates and tiles making up the water...also, could you do a video showing this set together with the other 3?

Funny, I was just about to ask the same question. I just started building my first modular building this week (Sanctum Sanctorum) and opted to build a MILS plate first, and boy was I happy about that decision. Inquiring minds want to know 😊

Aren't the ninjago sets technically MILS plated already? Brickie has most of the water in his city, the sea, the canal, the stream at the same level, 1 plate 1 tile, and then the buildings themselves are MILS level, 1 brick 1 plate. If you put a full MILS under the ninjago sets they would be a full brick and plate higher than all the others. I would say ninjago sets are the only ones you don't need to build a MILS plate for, but otherwise I agree, build straight onto a MILS plate for other modular sets, I also did that with sanctum sanctorum.
These sets are based on water. My city water is only 1 plate and 1 tile off the baseplate, so they don't need to be on MILS plated. A placing video that includes the other 3 will be out soon 😁

At first, when I saw first images - I hated it comparing to previous Ninjago sets, but the more I look at it the more it grows on me!
Personally I don't like the overall look and color of it as much as the gardens but the individual sections of it are nice not to mention the cable car.
agreed, I own the city gardens and it's definitely my favourite set at this current time, but the markets has also grown on me and I will definitely purchase it soon as it will go perfectly with the gardens!

Yeah I wasn't impressed and the gaps in the middle made me feel underwhelmed. But the karaoke bar, minifgures, lift mechanisms and arched bridges still make it good enough to grow on me the more I see it
I think you're right about Ninjago City being wasted up on a shelf. I think you need to figure out a way to incorporate them into the city itself, like a sort of futuristic chinatown district. Its prob no easy task but bricksie can find a way. 😅
I really hope this happens. They are my favourite sets ever and the highlight of a lego City. Leaving them out feels like missing out the best part
This set is absolutely phenomenal! I love the unique buildings and the way all the colours come together. It's super well done. And I'm also super hyped on the gondola as well. That's pretty cool! The one critique I have is that the top section of the set looks a little empty. But honestly no big deal.
The little "oven" is a forge.
These Ninjago sets are soo nice, i love the creativity and randomness that is added to them
Also Bricksie, the Gondola part might actually be something worth looking into for the city, like another way to get up to the raised platform, that would not require going into the train station

Yeah if he added a gondola it would be epic. Imagine a massive one across the whole city that ran on power functions to match the trains going along

The set really cool, but was the toilet flushing needed great that Lego wanted to add that but is really needed. lmao
Lots of great details and techniques! I still think there's too much grey on the first floor and the bridge. I could probably just expand the water area down below though.
I like how the bakery and bedroom slide out so you can see the interior better. A great idea and it would be nice of more of that was done.
Who cares if that lift doesn't work to well as long as the toilet does.....LOL

That is a really cool set, you could so use the same technique for a ski lift in a City, or even as an overground transport system.
All 4 of the Ninjago ' big sets ' look really nice . I love all the colors , but I can only imagine the nervous / anxious moments sticking on the stickers !! , but still looks so fun !! Later , Dreamer

Jordan, I noticed the same problem with my lift so it's nothing to do on your part just a tiny bit of poor engineering

I think you need to integrate the NINJAGO sets into the Lego city almost like a cultural hub within a large city. Perhaps by the farm in place of the Venetian houses.

Awesome video as always! I have a couple questions I would appreciate if you could answer. First, do you leave the Ninjago sets off of MILS plates? I just bought city gardens and city markets at the same time I started without MILS but I’m starting to think that was a mistake. Second, I was surprised you didn’t show placing this with the other sets. That’s one of the most important things I was hoping to see from your video. How do you move the markets? Are you able to detach the two base plates? This is another question which makes me wonder if mils is the way to do it again. Anyway, I look forward to your answers!

my only issue with set again is tight building spaces in the rooms otherwise nice set, wish lego would do more room to put in figures in the rooms easier for these ninjago modular's, somthing which city modular are good at!

I love how we get clutch powers again. In Ninjago city gardens he hid behind an eyepatch, and here he’s pretending to be a cowboy or something

I just finished book two and noticed the bridge has a strange aligning issue. It fits nicely on the two circle plates, but when looking at how it lines up against the grey plates by the steps, it’s a bit off center. Did you notice this? I’ve tried reconstructing and keep finding the same issue
I just ordered this set just waiting for it to come in the mail. And I know for sure it’s going to be a long build

I think youre taking the suspended hotdog bun too literally. The designer just liked the shape of it, you supposed to pretend its just the bottom part of that hanging lantern thing 😅
I assumed it was meant to be a sort of bun since it is hanging above the bakery.
In my opinion it's my favorite Ninjago set so far. It looks epic 😍. How are the twins getting on Jordan.

If anyone is interested in lay out of a ninjago city with only the sets Lego has made .. I suggest the following. Docks up against Markets and City and. Garden with Zane’s statue right in the middle of the two sets
With that said it’s hard to get ALL the sets to line up in a way that feels right and naturalistic ..( that good flow )
The classic combo of City and dock is still great ..but city and market not as good .. so far the best is the docks up against the Market ..
What we need from Lego are some small filler sets stuff like Zane statue and temple island Sets ( small) sets that fill in the gaps ..$100-200.
The pathway line up more .. docks and market there’s a good flow going between both sets

This set is awesome, the minifigures are awesome, many of them are ones Ninjago fans have wanted for years.
The working Lego toilet is cool, I would rather use a trans clear stud.

Hi I'm just surprised everytime I see your mixer....the platform to enter a mixer is always as low as possible and bigger than the circle of the mixer. Maybe it's a better idea to create a so called "around the world" attraction where the seats are elevated half or same height as the Loop and swing around in a circle.

A Gondola is a boat in venice, I'm confused.
Got mine on Fri day didn’t get done until the following Monday .. I took my time and suggest that anyone who’s building this does the same had a few miss steps and they ( Lego ) made a printing error on one of the sticker sheets, they have two # 36 one of those is the #34 sticker. What else had to rebuild steps # 613 through steps 651 ..( not ever one just the part that was given me a problem .. bags 29-31
One of the biggest problems with this set is the they’re have a hard time staying on top of each other when stacked on each other it’s almost like the jumpers aren’t lining up
And with 20 something min figures you kind of expect a duds here and there but.. .. so here the short list of ones I didn’t like ..the old lady in overalls and the chef .. and white shirt blue dragon guy .. oh and blacksmith Kai ..only because no way would his hair look like that ..really I can honestly say after the ungodly amount of hours of watching both travel and the Food Network I’ve never seen a person of Asian / pacific descent where one of those kinds of hats only on American and European cooking shows ..
Love getting min figures like the raft guy .. I’ll take more of that. Than say the overall wearing granny .. always great getting Named characters .. need more than just one Named “ villain “ Shop workers are always great and civilian in Graphic Designer T Shirt .. of other Lego products…
