Maybe make the Hot Shots sign dual-sided, so that you can see what it is from either side. The back of the building looks fine, just need the sign fixed up, and maybe another big rifle if you have the parts.
I was thinking the same! You can imagine the other side is there to advertise parts of the park to the rest of the city
I think your first attempt with the accent colors on the path tiling was on the right track. Although, I'd try keeping the accent color pattern constant, meaning don't shift it when the path curves. So, when the path moves, the color tiles with get "cut off" and need to become 1x2s, etc.
I'd agree. I'm not sure about the light blue contrasting with the grey though, it might not be the right color.
Or a bordure but with a 1x2 tile.
I do love following your city builds, watch you everyday, but, but, but…
I have to say that train station (and I know it’s brand new) is just not worth the effort!
It’s an odd size for the baseplates, doesn’t fit the Disney train, and IMHO, takes up space that would be better utilized for the park.
There, rant over.
I totally agree
i really am not fond of that rollercoaster right there in the back... it looks like its in a different section of the city. The Haunted House looked great there... oh well..
I know trains are cool but you could get so much space for the park if you would get rid of that Disney train line. An additional amount of space would you get when you put the both other lines above each other. Just my oppinion.
Awesome job
17:25 I think you should make at least one of the plate a parking lot for guests.
Nice to see the Amusement Park coming along!!!
We're all living vicariously through Simon from now on. What a dream job!
Looks amazing sooo many details and stories to depict. The best part is only your imagination and not having the exact bricks on had will hold you back! Press on it looks great! Cant wait to see the details added in! The Disney Castle will be EPIC.
Looking Great. Dark grey tiles would make the bright colours in park pop for more depth.
for the "street" tiling in the park you could use 2x1 colored plates on the border then a mix of 2x2 grey plates and 2x1 grey plates on the inside so that the 2x2 colored plates on the inside went around the curves better in the middle.
The amusement park looks awesome! Would love to see the Disney train station added to the park if possible. A good location might be where you currently have the shops (by the Ferris wheel) along the train track. (and maybe move the shops to the blue bench by the scrambler). Regardless, the park looks ready to amuse. Looking forward to the next update!
Something to think about, once minifigures have entered the park, there's actually no station for them to ride the park's train. They'd have to exit the park and then go inside that large city station.
I love the layout... but in my opinion. I'd turn the Disney castle 90 degrees to it's right. It looks a bit out of place and would look better seeing it head on throughout most of the viewing space.
Agree. The castle looks kind of weird and out of place with the way it’s facing
It will look better when it's doubled
@@generalobi3669 it’ll still look goofy, the front of it won’t be facing the right way
We shall see how the spacing is once it's doubled
@@Bricksie You should add a side entrance near the red roller coaster. So minifigures can enter the park for a different part of the city. Also you should use black cheese slopes to put either side of the rail road crossing to stop visitors from going on the track.
With my red and white roller coaster you could put stuff inside the open area in the middle of the coaster. For my coaster I put a quick service restaurant with seating inside.
Great idea! One of my old layouts incorporated games inside the coaster
Great work on the new layout! I think this is a much better look than the first attempt.
I love the way you build those things!!! These look amazing!!!
Congrats on 100% MILS, nice work Simon! Love the layout and details you are planning!
The Haunted House and Haunted Mansion , really look great together . The whole area is fantastic !! Later , Dreamer
Yay I can’t wait to see the castle finished .
So glad to see this on my birthday 🥳
The droopy palm trees would make a cool archway path cover.
Would be cool to see the coasters running
With all your spare dots you could make small mosaics of Disney stuff. Not large. Just like the Mickey head and ears as a 9x9 stud mosaic. So you could sprinkle those throughout the park on the ground to break it up and tile. Idk if it would get too busy doing that
Your separation wall actually looks pretty great…..I know you complained that it looked “synthetic”, but that is actually what a theme park would do, manufacture a wall to look like natural stone. It just needs a topping layer of tiles/bricks to cover studs.
Looks great! Appreciate your hard work on making it look good!
Just an idea, I don´t know if there is enough space for it but if there is, it could look cool. You plan to add water to the surrounding area of the disney castle, wouldn´t it be cool to add like a lazy river type ride or a log flume or something like that.
Oh wow, that sounds like a set the LEGO Group should get on! Instead of a new rollercoaster, they should build a log flume!
Looking a LOT better, glad your helper, Simon; was there…you’re so talented…keep up the great work!!!
Love the new layout a lot. Happy you change the little shop that didn't look that good from the back.
One thing though, I'm not super hype by the rebrickable haunted mansion. Why not have the Disney costume shop inside the amusement park?
Thank a lot for the divertissement you offer us Jordan !
Great job on the Amusement Park... a tip for the tile job, could you create different sticker sheets that are transparent, with black lining to show the effect of stamped concrete. I think it would elevate the look of the Pathways for the Amusement Park.
If you design say 10 1x2 tile size, 20 2x4 tile size, you would be able to create unique and fascinating walkways. I suggest several designs as not all should be a perfect square, some should be designed as curves, slight curves, and 90 turns.
I know it would be tedious to design, but once the 30 or so designs are made, it is simple to cut and paste to fill a sticker sheet. Printing on transparent sheets would allow the effect to be across several color tiles.
I used to have dreams where there was a tram line that went all the way from my town to Legoland
The way I see it, that second train takes people from all around the city to the park
Looking awesome!
Awesome city
awesome video jordan the amusement park is looking amazing great job
17:54 lol, that does look bad, but what I thought you were gonna do was add a border of different colored tiles only 1 stud width. because 2 studs wide definitely looks awful. you should maybe try it 1 stud width, might look better than one solid color.
Maybe for the HOT SHOT game you can add the name to the back side of the sign so it can be seen so you aren't just looking at the back of a building and sign.
A tiny flat head screw driver from one of those multi small screw drivers sets or the tiny screw driver from an eye glass repair kit are good for getting in to pop off a lego piece.
What about a parking garage for the amusement park on those 2 green base plates next to the train station? Train stations and amusement parks typically have large parking lots and/or huge parking structures.
Also, will Tinker Bell be flying again? 😁🤞🤞
I really admire your perseverance with the amusement park. Your willingness to ideate and continuously try different layouts until you get a solution you are satisfied with is part of what makes your city terrific!
Maybe tiling would look interesting if it’s stripes instead of grids. This way even with all the winding paths the stripes can stay straight. (Maybe 2-3 tiles of blue, one tile grey, repeat.) or just 1x2 grey tiles so the stripes are minimal.
Love your updates! Keep up the great content! 🙂
Maybe you could tile the amusement park in a solid colour and have your theme colours on benches and planters.
I would double the sign on hot shoots. Then you could see it from the other side. It is looking great.
Very cool!
Looks great!
As a custom train builder I’d recommend modifying the train rather than modifying the station. Works better for the loading gauge
Hey Jordan! I was thinking, maybe the Ferris wheel could go over by the boardwalk? Maybe behind the beach strip. Its very common to have them near beaches or water IRL and it would then really help with spacing in the park! The carousel could then move to a more comfortable spot as well . Also maybe you could drop the train tracks down into the mils plate under the stud gate to help the Disney-train fit. Love the channel!
He has the 3in1 Ferris wheel on the boardwalk, it’s a much better fit.
Hi, just a thought on the path if you could raise up the green plate and overlap it over the tiles might make it easier to create a pattern, only downside is the extra plate needed, love the channel
The path should be colorful, maybe use Disney World for inspiration, the paths could be brownish-red
The creator mini modulars would work well in the amusement park.
The haunted house shouldn't be raised up so it won't block the raised platform.
What baseplates do you use for the odd shaped MILS plates? Off brand baseplates?
You should make a video about tips for building a set mirrored.
there’s always so much excitement when these videos come out! keep it up mannn
Looking fantastic Jordan
haunted mansion looks dope
I think re Haunted MOC needs to be raised up on a small hill by one or two bricks as it kind of gets lost back there. Also have you considered using different size tiles for the pathways as I feel all the tiling is very similar. ❤
Or swap it and the Haunted House around so we can see the Blacksmiths House
On your walkway near red/white coaster, perhaps try using your accent color as a curb/border using 1x tiles instead of the 2x2s…….also a more intense color (either darker or bright) would look better than that sky blue color.
Hey Bricksie looking great ...some parks I have been to have a gift shop you have to go through to get out of the park. What about customizing the costume shop into a gift shop and putting it behind the train station as the exit
Cobblestone tiling looks amazing if you have the parts for it. Brickcraft has a simple pattern he posted in a recent video
1x1 round or quarter round tiles on the walkway with vegetation covering the transition from the walkway to the grass looks good.
As always everything looks great! Since you were dressed as a banana building that you should put the banana suit minifig nearby in honor of it
You and Simon should apply to be on LEGO Masters USA, they had a lot teams from Canada last season!
Thanks for all your hard work man we all really appreciate everything that you do
Mixer with bumper cars underneath
“Sorta like Lego masters” you say eh Bricksie? Is that our teaser of what’s to come in the future? 👀 A wild Bricksie appears on the next season of Lego Masters.
Looks great - admire your perseverance! For dividing the roller coaster from the Home Alone house, what would you think about adding a row of tall, slender trees just on the roller coaster side of the stone barrier? If you made them with flex tubing, the trunks could bend slightly towards the HA house, so the leaf canopies wouldn't interfere with the coaster.
Maybe finally take the plunge and start using Studio? You could work out the tile pattern without having to pry them up every five minutes.
You should put a big restaurant by the Disney castle if there’s room
Make the stain glass back on the Disney castle!
You need to add your own Easter egg to the haunted mansion. Add a banana lego character in the scene.
Not sure if you are able to do it but would be great if you could connect a small camera to the rollercoasters for a minifig view of them working.
I think you should add some sort of fence around the roller coaster.
awesome update :)
I think you should add a hidden mickey in the circular tiles of the haunted manner
This is awesome…
Love your channel! Thank you. Do you have enough colored tile to do a checkerboard pattern on paths and open areas with a color and light blueish gray?
It took a lot to get there but the new park layout looks very good!
For the path start alternating colours and then keep it the same as it goes down the street don't change the distance just switch to smaller plates when it gets to the edge and stick with the 2x2 in the positions that they are in and adapt tile around it
I would make the tiles the same color as the rides they are next to complete the colors
I just googled “amusement park walkways” and saw a couple of interesting ideas. Might be helpful.
nice toilet there.. i have opinion about the empty space, why don't you a gift store and the exit on the same base plate? it will make better from what i thinking..
Don’t forget the rides from bricktober at toysrus
Don't underestimate the difficulty of duplicating the disney castle. Those 'rock' curved bricks at the base will require a new solution and the entire top half sticks out further than the end towers so you will have to expand the wall and/or reduce the size of the upper layer with your second build. I can't wait to see it finished though, then it will look amazing from all sides.
I think the amusement park would work better where the camp ground is. Pop culture, where the amusement park is. Camp ground where the farm is
You know you should put a little parking lot by the theme park.
How about 1x2 accent tiles for that windy path?
When are you going to finish the mansion?
Rather than use 2x2 colour tiles for edges use 1 x tiles would look the best I reckon
Looking great. While there is a Disney feel to it, how about some other IP like WB and HP for photo ops.
For the tiles I don’t think solid colors is the best idea, I think just random blue and gray would actually look good, OR, stripes or blue and gray 18:12
You're going to get that double Disney Castle built just in time for a new Disney Castle set to come out :D
What happens if you like the look of the new set more? A 2023 double Disney upgrade?
for the path ways use 1 x 2 tile and do a cobble stone pattern
This year will come out new Disney Castle, so maybe its better to wait for it? instead of making double version of old one, as maybe new one will fit old one, or they could be combined etc.
Is there space to copy/double-side the Hotshot sign so you have something camera facing?
Also try adding some more games and I get the idea for the 2 story shops in which could be Main Street U.S.A. buildings and then you can have a hub of magic kingdom when it opened which had trees
Very curious. Where do u get a baseplate from that’s 4x48 to make a mils plate in the first place? Does Lego sell baseplates in a large variety of shapes and sizes?
I personally don't like the roller coaster outside the amusement park area. It spoils the look of the raised platform and the town area. I would move on from the amusement park and have a commercial and industry area instead. Just my thoughts, great content, enjoying the development.
You could reintegrate the Disney train station if needed on the far side of the city to the left of the Disney castle where the vendors currently are
In front of the Disney castle looks a bit empty the 80’s diner would look cool
What set is the Haunted Mansion a rebrickable of?
You should use 1 wide blue tiles along the edges of the paths
I had an idea for your paths, instead of using a 2 stud wide line along the edges, why not reduce it to a 1 stud wide line?
Having just mirror-imaged the Boutique hotel, it's not always as clear as it looks. Sometimes parts aren't reversable. I thought I'd ordered everything I'd need for that but no, I've had to make a second order.
I wasn’t loving the new look of the amusement but right now it is definitely coming together
