maybe it's just an opinion, but I think grid street layouts look great! I live in a major city that's laid out as a grid because it was built on top of what used to be an enormous stretch of farmland, so it's not an unnatural layout by any means(barring that all human infrastructure can be considered unnatural). Humans build their cities based on what the land was like before - whether that's building a road that curves along a mountainside, twists between houses that existed before the industrial era, or repurposing organized farmland. So your grid isn't unrealistic!
something I've been experimenting with in my own city is a 2x2 mils plate that I swap out seasonally. What I mean by that is I made 4 2x2 mils plates and I have one for spring, summer, fall, and winter. this way I'm able to use my holiday themed sets for my city and not just for display
If you did want to cover the access holes, you could add a hinged trap door to cover the hole and glue some base plates to it and make a large lake which would look good when closed and shouldn't be more that a brick high so won't get in the way when you open it. Just a thought.
I was going to say some kind of curtain (like they put around conference tables). That way he can still get to the storage behind the hole. Would probably be the easiest/cheapest option. I like your idea too, but I think it would be logistically difficult to execute well.
I 100% agree that the grid looks pretty good! It unlocks mire space and adds nice camera shots! Also, it adds more realism if you're looking for that because lots of big cities have grids like yours so I think it's awesome.
Minifig Parents: The Great Chasms are the portals through which The Man Upstairs enters our land. He greebles the hills and MILS the earth. Microfig kids: How is he upstairs if comes from below the city? Parents: Only the Masterbuilders know.
Hey there, so excited I had to write. I just left the Lego store in Berlin ( Germany) that usually gets items in the PAB wall before they are on the wall in Canada. The new items they have are great . Brown ladders, pre-molded pine trees! Dark grey rock faces. Plus dark green (tree house) leaves. Finally great stuff for landscaping. So keep your eyes open. ( don’t recall seeing them the last time you shopped)
About the holes, what about adding some "fake modulars" around the edges of it? Something like just the façade of buildings, similar to those you had on the elevated platform before, but with less floors, so they're easy to be removed when you need to work there, and to avoid (re)moving your existing buildings.
Jordan, your city is great the way that you build it. Don't let others'negative opinions or critiques get you to second guess your great designs. Positive suggestions can be helpful but ultimately you drive the Bricksie bus. One thought you can take or leave is to make Lego Movie type backdrops for your access holes like the Infinite Abyss that Lord Business has in his evil lair. Or maybe the Kitty poster... Whatever you come up with will be great though because your Lego room is amazing because of your designs. Keep up the good work with work and family life! 😁🙌
Love the changes! I think the Dino exhibit fits perfectly in that spot and makes that whole area a great tourist destination. It’s also super smart to spend time planning the residential area/street since you’ve been talking about expanding the train station back there and any road building you do will effect that. I’m so excited to see how it all works out!
Please don’t remove any shelving. Not only is it just a bandaid for the city it’ll only create more issues in trying to find homes for the collection. A big part of collecting anything is cycling out old to make room for new. Just did this myself. As far as the opening go I love the residential houses around them. If you can keep them all facing out you can put trees in the backyard and imply a wooded area in that opening. I do also have a recommendation for the amusement park. I know it’s a lot to move but swapping the park and the campground would make more sense. The park itself would be an extension to the beach. Many beaches have amusement park rides on their boardwalks or piers. It would also put the park next to the zoo and act as an animal kingdom to go with your Disney castle. The train tracks would also be less intrusive to the campground.
I agree I think it looks better, the residential houses surrounding the kwike mart looks great, and the view down the pop culture streets ending with a clear view of the simpsons house and home alone house is just perfect!
For The holes, get some blue fabric and velcro. You can theme the holes to be water and then you can easily take one side down with the velcro to access it easily. Just an idea! :)
This video was a ton of fun to watch. I love how you described your decision making for what you are doing to the city. Looking forward to waking up each day, brewing a cup of coffee and watching a new Bricksie video!
City is looking great man. An idea for hiding the holes. Especially the amusement park one. What if you built a facade of a parkade? You can still pop in and out but it cleans up the space and definitely not out of place to have a large parking structure near the park.
So Bricksie, when the new Disney Castle is done, will you use it'd blueprints in order to upgrade your Double one? Or is it too big for that location? As for the Diner, what if you fused it with the Bowling alley? That way you can add in a main entrance for the Alley it's top floor. I think you have several ways you can go about it, but it might mean you have to give the Alley a second floor, as well. So think it over, maybe it can save you a 1/2 baseplate.
you can just tile of baseplates with trans blue tiles for the 3 holes in the city, make them look like big lakes. They wont be much of a trouble removing and will definitely make the city look nice and more "complete".
Hi Bricksie, if you had a hinged flap or door that is painted or made to look like a Lego lake in the middle of the park. if closed, it fills the gap and can be open from the bottom, opening back under the table when you need access.
Great call with the Dino Exibition! Students love to chillax between classes; maybe try that fountain that came out of the amusement park next to the University.
How about some blue fabric with a water effect print of sorts that you can simply unclip when you need access? Just a thought. Thanks as always for the awesome content!
What u need to do is to get some elevated board to cover that hole. Even on line, u could just pull it and get it up so u can still hav eaccess to stufff, but when done u just close it and puff, all covered :D
I think pop culture street would look good moved next to the amusement park and become part of the park, something like pop culture land or something. Since it's fantasy, it would be a good addition to combine with the amusement park.
Jordan i done this before, but only do those two areas it’s gonna look worse if it’s only grids Keep some or most unique it look better with curves in the street. Keep the city growing👍
I appreciate all the hard work, as always. Random thoughts As the biggest fan of the forest areas and it's future huge warehouse expansion 😁 I think either the hocus pocus set of the haunted mansion set could be moved there. Those two residential building could go and make room for more amusement park Until "we" get more room with a warehouse you could start working on making the areas more cohesive with sections; matching building facades, lamp posts; different themed areas of the amusement park (jungle themed, space theme, medieval) What about plexiglass sections with a water Lego lake over it for the cut out covers? They could be easily lifted Just random thought and keep up all the hard work.
Have you thought of using some 1x1 light grey tiles to smooth out the corners of the path? Sometimes the 2x2s look a bit pixelated when the path curves.
The Lego promo is very cool, I got two coming too add to my collection. I be so jealous seeing your room, got work going on at home then will be getting my room done and starting my own mini city fingers crossed !!
Love the changes the angle when u look straight down the roads is soo cool I love the home alone house its gonna be my first big buy!! I'm so excited to get it on the 14th I really hope its still in the lego store 💜💜💜
That’s great that you were able to get a second promo set! I tried to order another one online a soon as I got home from the Lego store on the 1st…and they were already sold out. Called back my Lego store and they were gone there too. Happy I grabbed 1 but def wanted an extra!
I like the long roads, great long when video from the front. Your channel is the only channel I keep up with every single day. Thanks for all the great content!
Alright, from a few videos ago, turn Eldorado Fortress into a historical site that campers and pedestrians can visit, perfect spot is on the hill over looking the water. New idea that isn't in your city yet at this point.
You could make a building inspired by lego friends arcitecture to go beside the university building - I thought something like Emma's art school may look pretty cool and tie the block together with similar structures
Great video as always Jordan! That Haunted Mansion build was very repetitive for us lol. Nice thing is at Disneyland with our pass we got the set in the Park for 20% off immediately, couldn’t say no to that lol! Kinda cool! 🙏🤗
I would open up space for at least one base plate in front of the Brisie Land entrance. Tall modular buildings blocking the view of the sign always annoys me. Maybe switch it with the diner with the parking lot.
I just thought of something that would be ridiculous. Imagine if you had a train line running for the collector’s Hogwarts express 😅 ( not suggesting you do it but it’s just a random image in my head 😂)
I think just looking at the new Disney castle, when I eventually get it I might try to complete the back by making an Ice castle so you can see through to the interior.
What if you removed the stuff under the table and built kind of underground scenes. Maybe caves, sewage, crab people, TMNT? Stuff like that. Or even underwater scenery.
Maybe a modified modular botanical garden + university could make for a great 'learning area'. The botanical garden could even have some extra outside gardens and a nice fountain.
The residential area might look good near the beach, zoo and camping, as far as possible of the park and train lines, leaving space for more busy "transport dependent" buildings
I trying to do some landscaping and loved building the Sanderson Sisters cottage just got it done ty for tell me it was coming out was the first in line at my little lego store
If u need to reduce shelf space y not put the small rebrickable models of the Disney park attractions around your theme park as small statues for the people to see
You could have a chapel for the LEGO city, space permitting. I'm not sure of the religious status of the local minifigs. I'd expect that many would be agnostic or atheist on pop culture street. Then again, in Harry Potter they do celebrate Christmas, despite practicing witchcraft. Those LEGO Creator families surely believe in the 3-in-1 trinity of God. Probably the beach-goers aren't mostly church-goers. The forest and city dwellers are a toss-up. And the medieval guys seem religious. Perhaps there is a LEGO religion: "In the beginning was the LEGO duck, and Ole Kirk Anderson. And the brick was not yet, but in wood. In the forty and some year LEGO created minifigure. In the image of LEGO created they them."
Today’ comments: 1. Yes to the black fabric to hide the stuff you can see around the holes. Easy to do and easy to remove if you want to change it up. 2. New space in the city vs expansion? Yay, new space! (I’m an expansion denier.😏) 3. And in case I haven’t said it, the raised train line and it’s stations look great. So does the beach area.👍👍 4. Do you think you could raise the Disney Castle a little? Or maybe that’s the plan…
I usally dont comment on your videos. but maybe this is an idea... move the rollercoaster forward so it covers the hole for the eyesite. keep up the contend. greetingz from the Netherlands/Rotterdam
I don't understand why 2x2 LBG Tile is not a "bestseller" online for the pick a brick. Waiting for 2 months almost to get in LBG tile really sucks. Especially since so many people use so much of it.
Looks great! I was thinking with all the open spaces now , you have room to really try some of the ideas from Chicago. Like the different levels for buildings . Or maybe even the subterranean levels , it would be kinda fun to see that under those openings , so you don’t have to use the fabric!
maybe it's just an opinion, but I think grid street layouts look great! I live in a major city that's laid out as a grid because it was built on top of what used to be an enormous stretch of farmland, so it's not an unnatural layout by any means(barring that all human infrastructure can be considered unnatural). I would do that to, if my city wasn’t so small 😂
@@JOSHSLEGOso relatable. 😢
Wait you guys have lego citys?
I think the campgrounds might be the best candidate for this. Not many people camping come winter time.
If you did want to cover the access holes, you could add a hinged trap door to cover the hole and glue some base plates to it and make a large lake which would look good when closed and shouldn't be more that a brick high so won't get in the way when you open it. Just a thought.
my thoughts exactly...lol
I was going to say some kind of curtain (like they put around conference tables). That way he can still get to the storage behind the hole. Would probably be the easiest/cheapest option. I like your idea too, but I think it would be logistically difficult to execute well.
@@lvidmar yeah, that would work too. Just figured the lake idea would blend well with the amusement park
I 100% agree that the grid looks pretty good! It unlocks mire space and adds nice camera shots! Also, it adds more realism if you're looking for that because lots of big cities have grids like yours so I think it's awesome.
I like the idea of having large open chasms throughout the city that the people just accepted and built around.
Minifig Parents: The Great Chasms are the portals through which The Man Upstairs enters our land. He greebles the hills and MILS the earth.
Microfig kids: How is he upstairs if comes from below the city?
Parents: Only the Masterbuilders know.
Maybe all it needs is some construction signs surrounding it, warning that citizens to not fall in the sinkhole.

Put the new Bat Cave in that hole opening!!
FYI - 'Steamboat Willie' is the name of the big cat guy that bosses Mickey around. Just in case you didn't know. 👍
For the big holes hung up some fabric to hide the plastic storage units
I'm fine with the holes in the city. Maybe hang a curtain with Velcro for the under side.

I think just looking at the new Disney castle, when I eventually get it I might try to complete the back by making an Ice castle so you can see through to the interior.
Someone should really make a compilation of him accidentally knocking things over while filming. 😂
If you leave the left-hand hole as it is, you could do an underwater scene on the bottom shelf, which could be seen through the hole.
Sorry, I meant the middle hole.
What if you removed the stuff under the table and built kind of underground scenes. Maybe caves, sewage, crab people, TMNT? Stuff like that. Or even underwater scenery.
Have you thought about getting a car mechanic's scooter? You can scoot around on your back on wheels so you don't have to crawl anymore.
Great video as always Jordan! That said, I was distracted for half of it when I realised you look exactly like my old English teacher! Spooky stuff! 😅
Maybe a modified modular botanical garden + university could make for a great 'learning area'. The botanical garden could even have some extra outside gardens and a nice fountain.
Quite the busy day
amazing thanks
The two houses next to the hole should be switched? Would make more sense for cars pulling into the garages
You should create a map with details once you are finally done with the city
You should make a double mini castle
Haunted mansion is the only other Disney movie I’ll see in the theaters this year. Guardians was the only other one.
The residential area might look good near the beach, zoo and camping, as far as possible of the park and train lines, leaving space for more busy "transport dependent" buildings
Their is a new Lego disney 100 set coming on September 1 and it is Walt Disney Lego person with dumbo and Bambi in the set.
I trying to do some landscaping and loved building the Sanderson Sisters cottage just got it done ty for tell me it was coming out was the first in line at my little lego store
Straight grid roads looks great, and there's still some curved roaf in the city
I would buy your second disney 100 gwp for $25
If u need to reduce shelf space y not put the small rebrickable models of the Disney park attractions around your theme park as small statues for the people to see
Love new video 🎉❤
Amazing 🤩

Have u seen if beyond the brick would to a video on your stuff? (If your interested) guess would make more sense when it's done, but w/e lol
Hey Jordan nice to see you're kids are doing well
I don't understand why 2x2 LBG Tile is not a "bestseller" online for the pick a brick. Waiting for 2 months almost to get in LBG tile really sucks. Especially since so many people use so much of it.
Hey Bricksie! Just a question, why don't you go to the Brick Yard anymore? You could look for tiles there!
You could run 4/2” underneath and run modules along them
How would you access the back area if you filled those holes? looks like some great changes you made
Change to two houses around the hole to have the driveways side by side so they can share an entrance
Did you watched Transformers Rise of the Beasts?
You should I do Lego playground.
Nice
Will you add Polish subtitles to your videos in the future?
id swap the mcallister house with the other one so the driveways aren't on the corner of the street. the driveways would end up 5 studs apart I think?
The thumbnail got me thinking how cool it'd be if you could get your hands on a probe lens and explore the city with that
Your city is missing one thing, a road to let cars in and out of the city cause now the roads just dont go anywhere
I hope you have a quiet lawnmower
Lol it's pretty quiet
👍
Why don't you just put a curtain across the back to hide the boxes. You can use velcro and a neutral color fabric.
Do you get a lot of weird looks when you are at stores by yourself and you have your camera out recording and talking to the camera?
Have not been able to find the gwp here in Australia 😞
