The was very helpful. I don’t where this was when I was pulling my hair out a few months ago trying to create an intro for my podcast! Lol happy I found it. Going to experiment with it now.
Thank you for your kind comments. I am glad you found it useful. It is amazing what is possible pretty easily. It is amazing to see how close garageband on an iPad or iPhone is to the laptop version. Thanks again, Rolfe
argghhh This was set as youtube for kids and I lost all my comments! Sorry to to folks who had commented and shown your appreciation! Let's start again!
This is so helpful, thank you! But I have a question, let's say that it was only for intro, and then I want to record for the main content, how do I connect the two different files? I mean, do you have any tutorial video dedicated for further process and editing? Thank you in advance!
Sorry i missed this comment at the time. You can connect the two if they are on different tracks in your project and you can adjust their individual volumes. I don't have a tutorial for it though sorry.
I have a question- my issue is when I go to lengthen recording time (past 8 measures) i click on the + button- and I can add up to a total of 26 measures- but i do not have an “automatic” choice in order to get the one hour length I need..???
katie rice Hi Katie, just check that you started the new project as a “track” instead of a live loop. That is the only thing I can think of if you are so limited. Let’s us know if that solves the problem. Kind regards, Rolfe
Hi Skip, sorry I missed this. To import music it is in the "loops" icon up top. Go to tracks view (the one with the horizontal lines up top) then loops to move between Apple Loops, Files and Music. Fins what you want and drag it into your track. Voila. Hope it works for you.
Very basic tutorial that left me quite a bit on my appetite, would have been nice to know what the compressor, presence and other settings do - basically besides the mic how can we make our voices better and eliminate noise
Hi Karell, I hope you found some use int he video. The tutorial is a deliberate simple and short overview of key elements in GarageBand on iPhones or iPads. It was made for made for training students in years 5, 6 and 7. To have all the features would have blown out to a long video and there is great content on RUclips for specific features. Kind regards, Rolfe
Sorry I had missed this comment. I use a lapel mic if I am moving around or a vocal mic (very directional) if I am in a loud area. It will only pick up what is directly in front of the mic. The one I have has an iRig pre www.ikmultimedia.com/products/irigpre/ to be able to use a normal vocal mic you would see in a band. Fun stuff!
Hi Jane, the echo in my video was because I was recording my screen that had audio in it while I was also narrating. I have not had the problem when just recording normally. I hope this helps. Kind regards, Rolfe
@@Jane_R_CH hi Jane. I was fortunate in that I did not actually have any echo in my recordings. You could try an external microphone or even the apple earphones so you are sure the recording input is away from any possible outputs. Sorry I am not much help. Kind regards, Rolfe
Hey! So I put the length on automatic. And I still got cut off. I need about an hour!! I recorded my podcast in two sections. Can I link them together? And where do you save your recordings so yo can send them to folks? Thanks in advance! You’re awesome.
katie rice hi Katie. I did a bit of a Google and it looks like if you leave your settings as they Are then it will be limited to around 30-32 minutes. There is a solution if you change them before you start recording. forums.macrumors.com/threads/garageband-help.189813/ You could try to adjust settings before or make a new project after with adjusted settings and drop both your two 30 min bits in and save them together? Once you have done uploading to something like soundcloud works well for sharing. I have done this in the past but not for that length recording. Alternatively putting it in a OneDrive or Drive folder and making it public could work for you as you will have a link to share. Hopefully you have some luck. All the best Rolfe.
Life saver. I was on the brink of tears.
Great stuff! that makes my day! Glad it was useful. Kind regards, Rolfe.

Thanks so much, this was very helpful. I was wondering if you could tell me how to import music I already have for the intro?

Anyway to adjust microphone sensitivity down it picks up the ice maker! Very sensitive

How do you export it into Spotify?
To remove the echo ?

I had the same question regarding length. Thanks Rolfe for the forum link, great workaround.
