      I'm on a fixed income so it's very difficult for me to make any kind of meaningful financial contribution. Having said that I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate these lessons. What goes around comes around. You're the best. Thanks man. :)

      I've been looking a lot at the shure 215's and the headphones youve mentioned. I have apple airpod pros that I use to mix but I just bought some drum triggers and want to be able to hear them in my garage when i play so I'm trying to find decent headphones to listen to the triggers. Would you think one is better than the other?

    WAYY more informative than most of the other tutorials out there- your knowledge as a drummer puts you in a whole other class. You pack a lot of detail in yet its very easy to follow along what your doing. Really appreciate it.

    Glad I found this. I use the the arrangements like you do to split out the drummer however dropping that into a midi section is next level. Thanks for the great tip.

    Bruh, you helped me so much. I didn't know you could copy the drum part onto a software instrument track and it ACTUALLY sets the midi notes. Thats just awesome.

    Hi Colin - I use scratch tracks for two reasons: as a guide track (the reason shown in your great video above) AND to help teach my band new songs. I do quick exports as .mp3s so they can listen to them wherever in advance of going into a professional studio or before rehearsal.

    A year late to this video 😮 but it's extremely helpful since I'm an iOS Garageband guy and this applies to the drummers there as well. For me, I find the rhythm in a song can be (or is) the most integral part of what reels you in when you first hear a recording. Now, I must go experimenting! Thanks 👍🏻😎

    Great video series. Someone posted about it in one of the guitar groups. Do you cover the "follow" function for the drummer anywhere? I've had trouble getting that sorted out and thought one of your vids might cover it. So far I haven't found it. Either way, thanks for these!

    • @TheBandGuide
      @TheBandGuide  Год назад +1

      Thanks, man! I haven't. I find it to be hit or miss with most things. But one trick my bandmate uses with it is that he'll actually tap out the rhythm he wants on his guitar strings and uses that as a guide track to get the drums in the ballpark he's looking for

    Lucky the GarageBand Drummer's tempo matched what you're guitar/vocal track so nicely. When I record guitar and vocals, then try to add a drum track it is never even close. Even if I try to use the keyboard to drum, GB keeps adjusting it so it does not fit the song I am writing. Grrr.

    • @TheBandGuide
      @TheBandGuide  8 месяцев назад +2

      I feel your pain! SUPER important to record to the metronome from the beginning. It means you have to figure out the tempo for your song from the start- which is frustrating, but will save SO many headaches down the road. You can just listen to your current recording and search "tap tempo" on google and go to one of their sites to just tap the tempo of the song you recorded and it will give you the bpm to set in GB. Hope this helps!

    Still nothing on the automation in the midi instrument. You can change so much in there for the individual notes like velocity, expression, panning etc etc. really adds more texture into the drums.
