Ok, I made this! I used vinyl for the inside in one continuous piece. The part I couldn’t stitch on the machine when I put in the lining, I glued in place instead. I just gave it as a birthday present. It was perfect!
I used vinyl as well! very perfect for durability and easy to wipe down

I have watched this a few times started out with a leather bag, didn't work, so trying again tonight with brown canvas, see if I can get it to work with canvas, the leather was too thick for the folds. So trying again.

I’m using that same fabric and canvas as the inside for the duffel bag, the toiletries bag I want to make it a little firmer so maybe fleece and canvas for the inside
If you want stability, the best thing to use is sew-in foam. Something like soft n stable

That’s a very nice bag, turned out well. This is the first tutorial I’ve seen where the lining is sewn separately. Is there an advantage to doing it this way that I missed?
I’ve found there are a few types of preferences with bag making. Drop lining (this tutorial), turning right side out, and raw edge. It’s all a matter of preference. 💕

hi Nicole, i love your shaving bag, have made a few! I have a question? Have you every made the exterior fabric measurements larger, ie: 15" x 19.5". Obviously I would have to enlarge the interior fabric too.Titch (Australia)
I’ve taken the same design and made it several different sizes. My pattern will only give you the instructions to make this specific size but feel confident in playing around with adjusting a size to suit your own needs.

Hello, what are the measurements for this shaving/makeup bag???

Try using a denim needle.

That is a different type of pattern. This is a drop in lining.

The seam allowances are not clear...the lining zipper edge is too big without folding over the 1/4", then fold over another 1/4"...other than that...a beautiful bag and video instruction!

What is the inches on little cardboard for the corners?
That is really up to you, but all the sea summers are listed in the PDF pattern ❤️

I would sew the lining with the main together the first pouch I did I sew the pouch first and put the zipper total disaster a bit what you did
Francoise Thepot that is certainly an option. Your seams would se exposed in the inside, so that is why I showed the drop lining. 💝
I don't really get to know how do you add the big white strap also the hand stichin by the sipper don't quite get to understand.

Sew Much Moore In Store I also didn’t see any seam allowances. I have the printed cutting measurements but there isn’t any seam allowances on that. I also didn’t see a reference to the seam allowances on your blog photos? Do I need to look elsewhere? Thanks so much. Great tutorial but I was curious about how you tacked the lining down. I understand how you did it in the video but you added that you tack it down so it doesn’t shift. That was a step you mentioned but didn’t show. Thank you
rockin' Robin thanks for your question! To prevent the lining from shifting, I will flip the finished bag inside out and add a couple stitches to each corner, ensuring that each stitch goes thru the batting. Hope that helps!

@@janidemaree9704 I recommend doing an inside zipper. Check out my video on the diva wallet. I’ll show you how to insert a zipper on that video.

@@janidemaree9704 I was thinking you could do an instant zippered pocket on one of the sides. Or even both sides. I don’t think you’re inner pocket would be obstructed by the box ends.
