    I am just a few minutes into this video and I have never seen your videos before and you just took the zipper pull off of the zipper and now I am a little horrified and also fascinated to see how you resolve this fatal dilemma. I know it must be resolvable, but I don’t know how.
    I am going to be making one of these bags for my husband and I’m planning on using denim from a pair of jeans that I made him give me after he ripped them in an unfortunate area that was not repairable. I already used the top part to make myself a skirt so we’ll see how the rest of this goes.

    Nice video. Just a word of advice. Keep an eye on that stamp. You really should grind the mushrooming off where you hit it with the hammer. Otherwise eventually a piece will break off, usually at very high speed, like a bullet.

    • @RightOnJonCrane
      @RightOnJonCrane  Год назад

      Very true! That does need a trim. It got a lot of use stamping over 400 steel bunk bed parts I did for a big job. Hasn’t gotten touch up in a while. And come to think of it, I’ll cut that whole handle off and weld on a new solid bar. The piece on there now is hollow. It was just what I had around in the scrap bin when I made it. Thanks for watching!

  • @chucklenz9011

    #1. Use a roller to apply double sided tape. It will stick better.
    #2. When sewing over the handles and pulls take piece of material folded over twice and sew a box “x” making a ramp so your walking can and put it under the rear of the walking foot (lifting the walking foot)and you will be able to sew those bulky areas and when coming down slip it under the toe of the walking foot and keep it moving towards you. But be careful you don’t sew your ramp to the project.

    I noticed several questions about zipper placement, I wasn’t clear whether the zip teeth were placed facing up on the outer fabric. Zip teeth are always placed down toward the outside of the fabric so that when it’s sewn and flipped, the teeth are up and the outside of fabric is up.

    From 🇨🇦 thank you, bought a sewing machine, never sewed before; I'm on a rookie on a learning curve and you shortened it. Great demonstration....beautiful shop.

    How do I make my bags taller? I know it has to do with the corner cutouts but I cant seem to figure it out.
