    Just wanted to post an update: Sean's Moza Air 2 crapped out after a little over a year worth of use, while the Ronin S is still going strong! Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

  • @BlownMacTruck

    Having used both, the Moza wins out for the mounting threads, the integrated tripod, and most importantly, the interface; the ability to change *everything* on the fly without busting out your phone and an app can't be understated enough. Also it can handle more weight, and the price with the follow focus is the same as the Ronin by itself. If you don't like using FF on gimbals (I've always found it kind of weird), it's cheaper.
    For the lack of horizontal balancing built into the plate (it's on the arm instead on the Moza), I think that's a little strange you guys are harping on it. Neither is better or worse; you just adjust the balance in a different place on each gimbal. Also you guys were putting it under underslung mode kind of strangely - the motor should be behind the camera, not in front, because you'll probably hit your lens that way. Oh and you having difficulty taking out the batteries? That's just embarrassing. Lift them from the side.

    I’ve owned both and while I own a bunch of DJI products I actually like the MOZA Air 2 better, if you’re on the fence between the 2 I would definitely test out the MOZA if nothing else because it handles amazingly and gets killer footage.

  • @arturaszaleskis8907

    Did you purposely forget to tell that Ronin S has NON removable battery which to many is a huge deal breaker

  • @Holtenstein
    @Holtenstein 5 лет назад +1

    On the Moza Follow focus motor with the cinema lens, You can remove and flip the clamp so it faces the other direction. That should give you enough clearance.

    • @Allpromedia
      @Allpromedia  5 лет назад

      Thanks for the info! We did figure that out and it does fix that issue, but our cinema glass was too heavy to balance effectively without using counterweights. The little arm you attach to the front of the plate to then attach the rail and follow focus, restricts how far you can slide the plate backwards. And that makes it difficult to balance heavy lenses without the weights.

    • @Holtenstein
      @Holtenstein 5 лет назад +1

      @@Allpromedia Interesting. I'm trying to use a small anamorphic set up but it is about 5lbs and front heavy. I hope it works. I'm leaning towards the Moza Air 2 because of the apps. Both Moza and DJI have terrible apps that are spotty at best. The Moza seems to be less reliant on the app as you can preform all setting changes without it. Also looks like I can get the Moza for less than the DJI too. Now does the Ronin S Smallrig cheese plate fit the Moza as well? I would be adding a monitor and handle. That one 1/4-20 isn't enough. Thanks guys!

    • @Allpromedia
      @Allpromedia  5 лет назад

      @@Holtenstein, Ok, I just figured out (stupidly because I should have seen this before) that if you raise the plate with a raiser, then you can add any lens because you won't get restricted from the plate movement. Also, we just installed the follow focus motor on the Ronin, and I prefer how they did that compared to the Moza. Question: Are you talking about the repurposed Russian anamorphic lenses from Iron Glass Adapters?

    • @Holtenstein
      @Holtenstein 5 лет назад +1

      @@Allpromedia No, I have a custom built anamorphic lens. True 2x stretch. I also am using the Tilta Nucleus Nano follow focus that seems much lighter than the Moza version. So it should help it balance. The Camera are GH5s and BlackMagic pocket 4k both Speedboosted. I just hope they work.

    Great video! no one seems to be commenting on the use of the DC out on the Moza air 2. Thats a pretty decent advantage if you are using cameras that need that extra battery life. eg early A7's Blackmagic, Xt3 . did you guys have a chance to try that out?

We want to hear about the performance of the gimbals and actual real cons... not how hard it is for you to take the batteries out. There were a lot of features you both missed to mention. However, still a decent video. Thank you for doing a review.

    I am about to buy one of these but trying to decide between Moza Air 2 or Ronin S or a Crane in the same price point. The Moza seems to have a lot of amazing features but according to some comments and reviews it has issues and shaky footage when walking/running? Does anyone know more about this or have an opinion. It seems like Ronin S has less features but maybe better footage?

    • @houseofphotography9261

      I am having the same problem. When I walk or run i see that my footage is very shaky as if i am not using the gimbal. Also when I cant have a roll axis perfectly balanced properly which is why i sent my moza air 2 to technician after one replacement. This time I am not gonna replace but rather shift to Ronin S. Sadly the sellers in my city Chandigarh India don't what I am talking about.

    • @Allpromedia
      @Allpromedia  5 лет назад +1

      Moza definitely took some notes from the Ronin S, but both are great. The Ronin S is heavier, but once you shoot with a gimbal like this, it doesn't take long to build the muscles to acclimate. The Moza and your AK4000 weigh about the same before a camera is mounted. Glad you like it! We watched a few reviews on it and are also impressed. I like the Ronin S the most, personally. Hey guys I was wondering if you think the moza air 2 would be a good option with BMCC2.5k. I am seriously considering getting it because it’s seems to fit my camera without any modifications. It is also in my budget. I like the fact that it has lighter and a heavier payload than the ronin s? What is your thoughts. Guys I’m also in the Burlington NC area 😎😀

      The BMPCC 4K? The Ronin and the Moza Air 2 work well with it, but you need either a cheese plate or cage to offset the mount; otherwise it will not fit on either where the mount is currently.

      You don't need to calibrate, balance test and autotune every time you use the Ronin, so no, you don't need the app every time. It is recommended when you alter the weight or balance. FYI! In case you have a underslung shakiness problem with the Moza Air 2, here some information, after a long conversation with this company (months), the conclusion is GUDSEN sells some gimbals that work 100%, and some than don't work 100%, so if you have a faulty one, kindly reduce your motor strength or wait for firmware update, they are sorry, they know you have paid the same amount than others who have no problems with their devices, but still they won't send you a proper replacement.... the reason is unknown (most likely they don't have more "good ones") if you want a refund, no problem, just tell them, they will refund you. They know this makes no sense, and is totally unfair, but please don't leave them a bad feedback.... advice, buy it in a shop, try it first...
