      Do it before you even say it in the vid. Especially for this Tool ride. You got me. I may end up checking out some more if you delve more into the genre. Rage against the machine, System of a Down, Maynard's other band's, Puscifer, A Perfect Circle. etc etc. Cheers.

      There are definitely other bands that have a similar sound. Check out Soen, Karnivool, Dredg, and maybe Tesseract.

      @@EiriUesugiKun Oh yea. You're right. I was a skateboard punk in the 80s/90's. I suppose you could throw Rage against the machine in there as well. Hell quite a few bands back then straight created their own original sound! I miss the 90s :(

      Can’t say they invented prog rock, but they do it on another level to anyone else. Tool stand apart from anyone else for their time signatures

    I say all the time, the correct way to listen to Tool is to Hear the song first, then play again with the Lyrics to read and understand, lastly, then play the song for the 3rd time to Experience the Whole Journey!!!

    Kurtis i came for TOOL. I subscribed to watch you go down this rabbit hole to Wonderland. You'd be hard pressed to find a bad TOOL track. TOOL is a once in a lifetime band like Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd. Deep lyrics, insane vocals, mind blowing musicianship. Welcome to the TOOL ARMY.

    You have to listen to "Lateralus" it's written after the fibonacci sequence, a f.... masterpiece and to me, one of the greatest Rock Songs ever written.

    Great video man, Tool always delivers lol. Lateralus title track will blow you away, the wrote it with the Fibonacci sequence, even down the the count of the syllables in the words. But beware, you may not be ready...

    Adam Jones's coldest riff, IMHO, is toward the back end of Pushit, after the breakdown sort of as a secondary chorus - it gives me the same kind of chills that Kirk Hammett's work (Metallica) on Welcome Home Sanitarium or Slash (GNR) on Estranged.

    Check out Lateralus. Definitely one of their masterworks. It goes way deeper than you might think. It's heavily influenced by a mathematical sequence of numbers known as the Fibonacci Sequence. The sequence goes..
    0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, ... The next number is found by adding up the two numbers before it. Interestingly, this can also be plotted out graphically, as a spiral which can be found literally everywhere in nature. For example, the curl in a chameleon's tail, the seed pattern in the middle of a sunflower and many other plants follow this spiral as well. Even the way hurricanes are shaped, all the way up to the Spiral Arms of our Milky Way Galaxy.

    Yes. Definitely a Power Ranger vibe. And yes that other main RIFF is what'll be stuck in the he. The unique part is that this riff is played in both verses and choruses, as well as the intro, bridge, breakdown AND outro. Usually a riff is just a tiny guitar lick that's barely 5 seconds, then repeated, usually with little to no change... Tool's rare ability to expand on the simplest idea to strait unfathomable insanity are what make them the absolute G.O.A.T.s greatests of all time. Forever. And no one comes close. Don't believe me. You'll see. Ask any tool fan. Lol

    Maynard isn’t a vocalist, per se. He’s another instrument. Truly. Not trying to sound some kind of woo woo BS. He truly tries to blend with the band here. Wanna hear him as front man? Go to A Perfect Circle or Puscifer. And I’d do Pet and then Momma Sed, respectively.

    FYI, yes that's a guitar riff, and a riff is not just a guitar thing, there's bass riffs, keyboard riffs, sax riffs, even synth riffs. The word seems to be falling out of popularity strangely... except in metal. Metal is ALL ABOUT THE RIFFS!

      Hell a hip hop "beat" is essentially a riff. Well, most of them, I shouldn't generalize. But it seems odd to me how in hip hop, even melodic elements are considered part of the "beat".

      @@richardroberts957 If the videos didn't have a catchy title or thumbnail they wouldn't get any views. It's sad but necessary lol. That's the way the RUclips algorithm works. For me personally, it makes sense to title my videos "rapper reacts to..." because 1. I am a rapper and 2. I want people to know that I'm brand new to the rock/metal scene.
