    I like to think of the ocean sounds that bookend this song as meaning nature was here before us and it will be here after us. It’s up to us what we do in the time we have.

    If you're interested in another song from this album, I highly highly recommend "7empest" (Tempest). It won a Grammy, yeah, it's that good! "7empest" is 15 minutes of the best musicians in the world jamming out together, it's the heaviest and most progressive song on the album! I guarantee you will be blown away, you made my day Kurtis!!! 🤘🤘🤙🤙

    Tool does such a great job with their effects; the panning and putting sounds in the back or more up front. I think doing that really helps almost physically placing you in the middle of their sound so it feels like you’re in it and a part of it rather than just hearing it, which only adds to their ability of musically creating an atmosphere and experience.

      @@PongGod wow crazy. Disgustipated I get...but I think it falls within non-song track. But Hook with a penis, Third Eye, Rosetta Stoned...mmmmmm. Tasty. haha. I didn't really mean to imply that EVERY single fan of tool will love every song. But I don't think there is a consensus song that fan base dislikes. Unlike other bands that have entire albums that suck or even multiple albums that suck. Tool is much more consistent and above average in this regard. I think many reviewers expect a few good songs not an entire collection of great songs.

      @@jokergreeting Yeah, I would agree with you that there doesn't seem to be any Tool songs that are largely disliked by the fan base. I'm sure some of the ones I love aren't favorites of other Tool fans. I guess when you take as long as Tool does to finish an album you can expect them not to throw in a bunch of worthless filler tracks LOL.

    Okay here it is Maynard James Keenan is in three bands tool, puscifer and a perfect circle. He states that he "lays down lyrical riffs" for these bands, otherwise these bands operate mostly autonomous without him. Also Tool albums have a general flow through them if you listen to them and chronological order. Spiral out. OGT

  • @anttikahkonen1957
    @anttikahkonen1957 Год назад +1

    Thank you for the reaction, I enjoy your attention to detail and understanding of how to build up tension in music.
    I am a 46 year old Tool fan, in a ridiculous amount. Seen them multiple times, their music should be sent as beacon to other worlds.
    That said, this is probably their best, most relevant and urgent song. Maynards lyrics are a rallying cry for us all to unite in the fight against our own madness, the climate issue we created and refuse to acknowledge.
    The song starts and ends at sea for a reason. There's a human plea in the middle but the instrumentals of doom take over it and it all ends in ocean drowned noises.
    The lyrics to me are obvious, others might disagree. "Falling isn't flying, Falling isn't infinite"....yeah, there's an expiry date to this fall, destroying the ecosystem we are depending on. We are so dumb.
    "Come our end....suddenly. All hail our lethargy"
    Yeah, it all ends quick for our species when all the species we eat or otherwise depend on die out of hunger or lack of water or out of heat. We're just last link in the chain to go. We knew better, but haven't done much. I have known for 30 years and haven't done much. Lethargy, apathy.
    Concede suddenly...we have no option because we've screwed the chessboard so badly against our favor.
    Calling all to arms and order...yeah, we need universal coalition and understanding of our immediate "grim reaper" to have a chance in hell to mitigate some of the chaos coming.
    But the song is as realistic and pessimistic as I am. Our ignorance and dependence on our ways will end or nearly end our species.
    "Stay the reading of our swansong and epilogue" meaning "delay/do something to avoid our ending so suddenly". Mobilize. Stay alive.
    Get it?

    • @anttikahkonen1957
      @anttikahkonen1957 Год назад +1

      Also "stir us from our wanton slumber". We've been pretending the real issue away for decades. Now it's coming to a head. Ignorance is certain death , something can be saved by being knowledgeable, adaptable
