    The Tool army will be swarming in here in droves. We come in waves, we love to talk about the band, we love to give information and some of us are way too excited all the time. I am sure you have noticed.... the army is marching. We go where the Tool reacts are and we know what you're in for. The anticipation to watch you cover so many songs opens up to us and we will all be here for it. I say this not because we're easy to please, but Tool is worth *every* *single* *song* , and watching someone you enjoy already take this journey is still one of my absolute favorite things in life.

    If you’re into drums, Danny Carey is one of the best ever. He has a live drum cam video of their song Pneuma 🖤

    • @knoxvol7512

      He has to see it - would love it

    • @garypointer3496
      @garypointer3496 3 года назад +4

      But I feel like it would do him well to react to the overall song first so he’s no simply focused on Danny as his initial step into Pneuma. Agreed he needs to see that video but he needs to hear Pneuma blind first IMO.

    • @dan.j.boydzkreationz
      @dan.j.boydzkreationz 3 года назад +1

      It was their first time playing it after the studio. They're known to not even practice. You can hear the singer testing out his vocals

    • @dan.j.boydzkreationz
      @dan.j.boydzkreationz 3 года назад +1

      So, when you see Pneuma/Danny Drumcam, he's wearing Larry Bird's number 33 shirt (Boston Celtics), but it has "Carey" on the back.
      Now, the most accurate time signature I've heard for it, is 33/8, but it's sometimes 6/4 and others it's 4/4.

    TOOL are they’re own genre....I swear....Other songs for a “beginner”.....Sober, Schism, The Pot, Pneuma. The first,,,the live performance. The last, the drum cam performance. Just my suggestion as a fairly new fan myself.....Their works are challenging, but in the best possible way.....

    Oh man, how beautiful it is to see someone listen to TOOL for the first time and REALLY get it! I love it! Best band on the planet. And you were talking about wondering if they are counting? 100 percent they are. Adam, the guitar player, said in an interview once that people always ask him "Why do you always just stand there the whole show? Why don't you get into your riffs and jump around like a lot of guitars do? And I always answer "I'm too busy counting!" haha Enjoy the journey. You MUST check out some live footage

    The Grudge: if we are talking the most extreme example of "the Tool Count" check out The Grudge, that one moves!!!!!,
    There are bits in there I still don't quite get how Danny manages to do it (the last outro section springs to mind its crazy) and I have been a Tool fan since 94 and mad into them since Aenima, I remember hearing Lateralus for the first time, and it was like "how the fuck have they done this again?" The Grudge is the first track on that album, if you react to it, bear that in mind, its an introduction to the Lateralus album. It really is to me a great song to sum up what Tool do, it goes most places that Tool go as a band in that track, and demo's their sheer brilliance at the technical. They have kept on "doing it again" the 2 albums that followed.
    I also think "Jambi" is another one of these tracks, its very different in many ways to "The Grudge" but also demostrates Tools dynamic and technical range as well as their writing and it again goes to a variety of places that sum up Tools sound well.
    I do prefer the Aenima album to all the others though. Its possibly a little simpler than the ones that followed, but is still immense in its technicality, but the feel of that album is a moment in time and a true ground breaker sonically, more so than Lateralus, even though Lateralus gets more praise for it.
    The writing n that album is unique, each song feels to me more like its own thing, the albums that came after seemed more universally themed throughout (nothing wrong with that, I do it with my own music). Each track on Aenima to me feels like a different world or reality, like a collection of novels,like Disc world or something, where each track is a only loosely related to the others, and with that album it works so well, Where as the albums after feel more like one big world self contained world with different chapters, and they are equally good at that too, but I prefer the Aenima approach when it comes to Tool, Hope that makes sense to people. (I totally recognise Tool have evolved since Aenima, and part of the writing process was due to a line up change and that bedding in, so a new process evolved over time that moved away from the initial Aenima process slightly)
    Regardless, Aenima on wards they produced pure gold. Undertow and Opiate are decent, but to me its a different sound, so much so they might as well be a different band. Much more of a raw sound and far more middle of the road pre Aenima (and pre Justin)
    I saw them live in 2000...and it was spot on...like to the sound, pitch, tightness, you name it, it was like hearing the Album at awesome volume in terms of their sound, amazing band.

    Welcome to the Tool rabbit hole man, so many amazing songs left, but first do yourself a favor and read about the lyrics of this song, you're in for a treat... with pretty much every Tool song actually.
    I'd say that since you're a drummer, you HAVE TO react to the drum cam version of Pneuma next... you'll want to quit drumming.
    Then I'd recommend 7empest, Parabol+Parabola, The Pot, Invincible, The Grudge... uff, I wish I could discover Tool again... prepare yourself for a musical experience.

    Ok, if you want to hear more un-humanly good music, you should listen to Sibelius's Symphony No. 7 (1924). It was so perfect an achievement that he spent the last 33 years of his life trying and failing to write an 8th symphony that could match it. It's a very intense and powerful experience (though it doesn't seem like it will be at first), though also incredibly beautiful. (I like the "Karajan" version, as in the one played by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Herbert von Karajan in the 1960s.) Unlike most symphonies, it's a single continuous piece of music, always shifting and changing and building up to something new (I would say the whole piece is one continuous transition), endlessly complex though based on just a few simple ideas. At times he manages the feat of sounding like the music is speeding up and slowing down at the same time. (Definitely crank it, it starts VERY quiet, and the loud parts are the result of gradual buildups and are so satisfying when loud.)
    If you're anything like me, your reaction may be like "I have no idea what I just heard, but I love it." Just like how you probably felt like "why was I missing out on this Tool all this time?" a lot of people discover great classical music and say "why wasn't I listening to this all along?"

    There are three totally different kinds of humans on the Earth, meaning that they perceive the One reality in three different ways, interpreted differently. The first kind of human has a chromosome composition of 42+2. They comprise a unity consciousness that does not see anything outside themselves as being separate from themselves. To them, there is only one energy - one life, one beingness that moves everywhere. Anything happening anywhere is within them, as well. They are like cells in the body. They are all connected to a single consciousness that moves through all of them. These are the aboriginals in Australia. There might be a few African tribes left like this. Then, there is our level, comprising 44+2 chromosomes. We are a disharmonic level of consciousness that is used as a steppingstone from the 42+2 level to the next level, 46+2...These two additional chromosomes change everything.
    The Shadow:
    In Carl Jung's personality theory, the ego represents the individual's sense of personal self. The sense of personal identity is purchased, however, at the expense of certain tendencies that are rejected as 'not-self'. According to Jung, these rejected traits come together as a kind of unconscious 'counter-ego' which he termed the shadow.
    We may become unduly anxious or irritated when in an environment or around a person that in some way reminds us of repressed aspects of our self. If a person has rejected his or her own sex drive, for example, that person may feel irrational fear or anger around an overtly sexual individual. The shadow may appear as a person in one's dreams, usually as an individual of the same sex.
    Of all the archetypes, the shadow is the most powerful and potentially the most dangerous. It represents everything about ourselves that we fear and despise.
    The meaning of 46 + 2:
    According to Melchezedek, our planet is covered with geometrically constructed 'morpho genetic grids'. These grids extend from about 60 feet under the Earth's surface to about 60 miles above the Earth, arranged in geometric patterns “Sacred Geometry”. Each species has its own grid, which supports life, and connects the consciousness of its particular species. Before any species can come into existance or make an evolutionary step, a new grid must be completed. When a species becomes extinct, that particular species' grid dissoves.
    A new grid was completed in 1989 - the 'christ-consciousness' grid. This grid will allow humans to evolve into our next version. We'll develop two additional chromosomes (which are really 'geometrical images' designed to resonate with our specific grid) for a total of 46 + 2.
    The main change will be a shift to the "unity consciousness". Every cell in your body has its own consciousness and memory. You, the higher being that occupies your body, make the millions of different consciousnesses in your body work together as one being. How does this relate to this grid? Think of yourself as a cell and the grid as the higher being. We will still have individual consciousness, but will be united in the form of a higher being in order to work as one entity.
