Mandy, you are such a wonderful ambassador for Chinese customs and cuisine. I have learned so much from your channel. Heartfelt thanks for your time and knowledge.
Mandy, your attention to detail, and your relaying those details to us, is outstanding. You're just the best! (Example: the filling's slight whiteness which quickly fades, the trick of a round measuring spoon, on and on.)
I made Mindy's moon cake recipes last year. Purchased the beautiful design presses and red bean paste. They were fun to make and delicious. Still want to try homemade lotus paste. Definitely will try pineapple recipe. Thank you Mindy. Your videos are marvelous.
What a beautiful recipe! Your message at the end made me feel so happy, thank you so much for sharing! Don’t know how I’m going to be able to wait for 3 days, but I’m going to try it!
This is the best video on making mooncakes I’ve seen. The best tip was how to form the dough. I’ve been rolling it flat and then shaping around the filling. It often tears and is not even. And is so much thicker at the bottom. Your way is so much easier- thank you 🙏🏻.
yeah but who would like to wait 3 days till the cakes get dry in the fridge lamo go to RUclips same cake but with Arabic tradition name of it maamol we eat it in Ramadan Also in the Eid moubark
I like that you explain everything to let learn and understand about Chinese cuisine. Thank you, Mandy. :) And the look of the Mooncake reminded me the drama I just saw. Looks similar. :)
I love moon cakes. I appreciate the techniques that you teach. It is good to know that I cannot make them the same day that I would like to consume them.
DELICIOUS! I didn't think I'd make then again because the filling took a long time to reduce but WOW the filling is delicious. I'm sharing my mooncakes with friends.
Mandy, you ate truly gifted with your knowledge of baking and cooking fabulous tasty dishes. These look so good. Thankyou and regards from Ireland 🇮🇪 💚
wow~ I love your explanation each steps, super clear. your recipe seems easy to follow, even though it’s end of mid-autumn festival, but I’ll do this in free time for sure. Thank you for sharing.
I just love your recipes. You make them concise, easy to follow and delicious.I cook many ethnic foods for my family, and the main thing we like is authenticity! I have made other of your mooncakes before, so I know these will be amazing, too. My next big dinner project is making a big dumpling feast of 8-10 different flavors, so these will be our dessert. Thanks so much from Louisiana.
You have turned me into an absolute mooncake addict, and these are undboutedly going to be a favourite. As much as I love the snowskins, I like the baked ones equally. I might try slipping some chopped dates into the pineapple filling!
@@SoupedUpRecipes, I made these earlier in the week using two cans of well-drained crushed pineapple and allowed them to age in the fridge until this morning (four or five days). They are absolutely DELICIOUS! Happy Moon Festival!
Thanks so much for the recipe! I finally made them and they're so good! They were a hit in my family. I'm considering making them again, but with the inside filling being apples and cinammon this time, just for a change of pace. Anyway, thanks for the detailed explanations and the super tasty recipe. It definitely really helped me learn how to properly shape and stamp the mooncakes. 😄
Thank you again Mandy though I am not Asian everything nothing about my lifestyle is. Because my birthday is in September and I am not big on always celebrating my birthday I have always leaned on making mooncakes as a way to mark it and give out. Will be trying the pineapple one this time around
These look fantastic! I love mooncakes, but my kids do not like the most common traditional fillings. This is definitely worth giving a try. Thank you for sharing!
I would love to see more flavors of moon cakes before the mid autumn festival! I was gifted some lotus seed mooncakes with egg yolk and I’m excited to try them ☺️
OMG Mandy I just made your traditional moon cakes this week and have to wait one more day before we can try them out. Also going to try the snowy version later this week. Now I’m intensely curious about this pineapple version!
A #50 or #60 cookie scoop, sprayed with cooking spray will make short work of portioning the pineapple jam. Also, if you oil your hands to roll the jam and handle the dough, it will stick less.
Wow! I bought one Mould many years ago never try making one. Seeing you make so easy I will try to make. I love moon cake. Can I put salted egg yoke? Can tell me how to cook the salted egg yoke. Thank you
Very nice recipe with perfect method 👌 i am a new youtuber in cooking and i am sure this will be very useful for me and for the beginners like me 😀 thanks for sharing this video 👍 lots of love and support from ur new subscriber from INDIA ❤️ keep going sis 😎
I thought the Snowy Mooncakes last year were perfect, but these are beautiful!🤤 Is this "Better than take-out?". I'd be satisfied if I could go to the bakery and buy some🤣. Thank you Mandy. Have a great weekend🙏💞🐲 P.S. Sorry your food processor broke. I'm sure it was well used😁
LOL! The Asian market around where I live sells mooncakes. They have lots of flavors: red bean paste, lotus seeds, salted egg yolk, sesame, fruit, five nuts... Check the asian market around where you live. You may find some.
Hey Mandy I'm Mendi and new here ,I really enjoy your recipes. I recently made your fried rice recipe and shrimp egg foo young. Very delicious thank you🙏
i made these with peach instead of pineapple and the flavor was great, but i couldn’t get the filling to be stiff enough to be able to wrap them properly, im going to try adding some corn starch next time to thicken it up a bit more
This recipe is a labor or love for sure. Question, if I by the Lye water to make the moon cakes 🥮 what other recipes can I use it with? Or is it going to go to waste? I hope you get back to me with the answer please and thank you 🙏
These sound wonderful! I just have to get a mooncake mold. What do you think about tossing a few tablespoons of shredded coconut in with the pineapple?
Thanks for the guide. I would like to do this as a business in future, perhaps a coco pandan, melon, chocolate, strawberry, ube flavored mooncakes. Is flavorings ok to add in mooncakes.
Mandy, when doing huiyou, should the moon cakes cool down before going into the container, or do you put them in while still hot and straight from the oven?
Hello, please how long can they stay in the refrigerator before eating them? Are you supposed to eat it fresh out of the refrigerator or let it sit so its no longer cold?
Mandy, you are such a wonderful ambassador for Chinese customs and cuisine. I have learned so much from your channel. Heartfelt thanks for your time and knowledge.
The video starting out during the day and ending after sunset accurately represents my attempts at this recipe.

I always look forward to mooncake season! I will get around to making them some day, but they always look delicious and so pretty!

She’s so amazing in her meticulous calculations and the process, I never knew making moon cakes was so time consuming
I always wondered why they are relatively expensive to buy. Now I see the extreme care & preparation needed to make. Fantastic video. Thanks.
I like that you explain everything to let learn and understand about Chinese cuisine.
Thank you, Mandy. :)
And the look of the Mooncake reminded me the drama I just saw. Looks similar. :)
Happiness to you and your loved ones. My friend Lilly makes these too. I’m lucky to be her friend and receive these too.
Thanks for showing the difference of using lye water vs not. That ingredient is hard for me to find so it’s nice to see that I can make it without it.
I love moon cakes. I appreciate the techniques that you teach. It is good to know that I cannot make them the same day that I would like to consume them.
