Just some GoPro footage I forgot about. Better videos to follow. This is north of Newman in the Pilbara of Western Australia overtaking a 8 metre (26ft) wide dump truck going to the iron ore mines. Truck is my 1980 Kenworth K124CR with CAT 3408 and 2 trailers at 79 tonnes gross weight.
Busy road never seen that much traffic anywhere there ! Since you are a flatbed guy I was told that if you put a twist in a strap you can be fined by a transport inspector? Here in the US we do it all the time to prevent them vibrating . Is this true ? The reason it makes them less strong I’m in the trucking biz never had that told to me .
@ryan I only do about 100,000 kms a year nowadays but I’ve been through a couple of speedometers, so I’d have to look through the books to find the exact amount.
Good to see you're still rolling with that CAT rig👍 up here in UK we wouldn't be able to use it due to all the emissions rules we have. Love that CAT V8 keep it rolling👍
Its perfect. Posted a question in your "Spicer video" elsewhere... but wanted to ask...could you do a detailed walkaround of your vehicle showing the componends like engine, transmission and any extra goodies you have on it that is typical for Australia? Keep up the great work, love this channel...

How many kms on your rig?
I’d have to look it up, about 5 or 6 million by now.

Thanks Chris for looking through the archives and finding another video to share with us! 👍 so what is the speed limit out there where this was taken?
In South Australia it’s 90 km/h for road trains, but north and west of Pt Augusta it’s 100 km/h.
what's the max gross weight in Australia?, greetings from the netherlands!
It varied between states, but the heaviest are in the north of Western Australia which are over 200 tonnes on 4 trailers.
@@gm16v149 Wow, so like 50 tonne per trailer
Do you own the flatbed trailers?
Have you ever hauled triples with your blue kenworth cabover v8?
Yes I own my two trailers, I’ve driven triples but not with my truck.
