During your 2nd Kill during the "Dual Flat-Spin", it appeared that Longshot had his afterburners running when your Fox-2 hit him. Were you pouring on the coals to your engines or were you throttled back when Longshot's Fox-2 missed you?
Concerning the short and differing WEZ range of the AIM-9, could it be the WEZ range/distance is somewhat different when shooting UP as compared to shooting DOWN? That missile will have a lot more work and speed to build flying UP as compared to flying DOWN, YES/NO?

Keep in mind that on the Raptor the CRL (configurable rail launcher - Fox-2s) points out and down so in your flat spin kill it was basically pointed right at him and didn't have to maneuver much to connect.

Damn, this game is beautiful. It's like watching a complex, free-form dance between two huge war machines, where any misstep is fatal, and it is all set against a gorgeous back drop. We've come a long way from the Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator I played as a kid.
GS what's great about this is you're doing exactly what I heard real pilots describe happen to them during training. F-15 pilots complaining that they're trying to turn in to get a shot and the raptor is basically just falling inside of their circle and pointing it's nose at them almost at will. Good stuff, Granelli did a great job indeed.
@@saturnascension I guess, but the idea of skill is an already abstract one. I’ve been playing flight sims for a long enough time to be pretty good off the bat in any new plane. However nobody has the time to put equal effort into every single aircraft. I specifically said the MiG-21 because I fly it and dogfight against modern aircraft in it often, and I know not many other people do that.

I noticed a couple of things. The Raptor HUD gives away its age vis-a-vis the F-35. Imagine the Raptor with the F-35 helmet? Also, the wing root mounted cannon of the raptor means in night fighting it won't blind your night vision like the nose mounted F-18 cannon flash.
I love the clouds playing a factor in dogfights...maybe not so much this video, but I've seen some of GS' videos with the new clouds where they have definitely had an effect.

I think the reason your 9x hit LS when his didn't was because yours was better shot. From what I could see on the tacview it seems LS seems to have flown right into your missile, so it didn't have to do much maneuvering. LS's on the other hand required much more maneuvering and couldn't make the turn at that range.
Hi, Really enjoyed watching these dogfights. We have an place in the North Wales mountains (UK) called the 'Mach Loop' where you are above these fighter planes and you can watch these planes practicing dogfights. Also in Anglesey (UK) RAF Valley where you can watch trainee fighter pilots practicing the manoeuvres you guys perform in DCS. I now know what the names of the moves are, Very cool.
I guess we can conclude that the F-22 is the best jet fighter in DCS, because no matter what bs your Su-57 has, none of them will have more bs than a 360* noscope, 1000000hp, flat spin DNA twisting F-22 with Aim-9s that can turn 90* within 800ft.

The one thing about F22 vs F22 dogfights with skilled pilots: they're over quickly. The way the Raptor can seemingly point its nose at will at the other plane makes for abbreviated fights.
