Are you joking? Did you see the performances by the other nominees? This was an extremely strong season for women in leading roles in musicals and she didn't come close to the quality of the other four.

The most appallingly undeserved win in Tony history. The Tonys succumb to celebrity, since her reviews were wretched. I saw the performance, two months in, and she could barely remember her lines, blocking, or lyrics. And her singing is best described as comical. Vomit.
I saw this, and she was GREAT. Totally deserving IMO.
