Accent contains MSG (monosodium glutamate) and is pronounced ack-sent. It is a flavor enhancer and you are correct that nearly all Asian dishes contain this ingredient. You are such a great cook and one of my favorite RUclips moms!

I remember when that stuff came out, it was like the 70 or 80’s. Mom said the easiest way to remember the pronunciation was to think, “that person has a British accent”. I still use it for bland stuff like soups stuff.

Just a hint, not that I’m telling you what to do because you are a wonderful cook and I can see that I have been watching you for a very long time. If you would have put a drop or two of kitchen bouquet in your gravy, it would have turned it brown, and it would have been much more appealing on those Potatoes and on the meat my sister-in-law taught me that when you make a gravy from scratch, you can buy it at Walmart in a small bottle

Never heard of that before - just looked it up! I need to buy some! I was making a homemade BBQ sauce the other day just trying to use up condiments in my fridge and it was so ugly 😂😂😂 I added a little ketchup which helped the color out some but something like this would have been a nice addition! Thanks!

Wow, I want to try ALL of these. And that seasoning you added to the pork and fried rice dish is pronounced AK-CENT. My MomMom used to use it and I’d taste it thinking it was something like a salt but it wasn’t. I’m 43 and still don’t know what its main use is for. Maybe it just brings out the flavors of everything else?!?! Idk but I’m gonna get some. Those pork tenderloins are so great because they are often on sale. I recently bought some unseasoned ones, so I’m going to be making your dish with the marinade and fried rice for sure! I was just offered my dream job at the school I work in so I’m going from part time to full time but I find the busier I am, the more prepared and productive I am at home. I’ll need to pack my lunches so dinner will be a big part of that. I love leftovers. I’m trying to find something that helps keep my kids’ food warm too until lunchtime. Thermoses work ok, but I hope to find something better. And not something that needs to be plugged in beforehand. So if anyone has anything they use and like for their kids, I’m all ears. Maybe I just haven’t found the best type of thermos to keep things piping warm/hot until their lunchtime. It’s a huge change for me working full time but I’m so ready for it. It’s exactly what my kids and I need! I save all your videos so I’ll be looking back at meals we all would love and will incorporate them into our weekly meals. You do such a great job with these videos. I look forward to them each time you post because we’ve loved everything we’ve made from your videos. Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Have you tried preheating the thermos’s with boiling water?? I’ve seen her do this for her kids lunches, I tried it just using my electric kettle and it worked great! But the food has to be hot as well when it’s put in the hot thermos. Double the heat keeps it warm by lunch time. My mom used accent in homemade Chinese or Japanese dishes or in soups and stews. Anything that was bland, accent worked to enhance the flavor. You may hear the term “MSG” in Asian American food, that’s what it is. Not straight salt, but similar family.

People are IDIOTS, pork is SUPPOSED to be pink and it does NOT mean it is undercooked. Everyone dries everything out these days to dust. YES worry about chicken, worry about blood near the bone if bone in, etc. but pink does NOT mean underdone with some meats.
I want my chicken done, I do not want it overdone but I've looked into it and the best Food Network chefs do NOT go 165 like everyone on YT does and remember when it comes out hot, it keeps cooking while resting. So when you go how high up before even pulling it off of heat, you are going over.
Pork is different, as is beef. And pork can be pink, juicy and safe and done.
So agree with you if people are going to claim that but it's not only with tenderloin either with pork so I disagree on you can only do it with that cut. You aren't undercooking it to begin with and for the temp you said it ended up at, you OVERCOOKED it.
People kill the chicken ten times over. First they over cook it. Then the shred it or use it in something and overcook it again. Then they take that and warm it up and leftover and overcook it again.
Pork does not have to be white to be DONE.
What difference does it make because if you can only buy the garbage flavorless fast grown meat they sell these days and feed whatever to, they've ruined meat anyhow.
    Rant over.
