In this latest video, I discuss why I believe Man of Steel was ahead of its time. I will also be doing a video on Batman V Superman in the build-up to Zack Snyder's Justice League on March 18th.
I'm sorry man. I didn't try to be disrespectful, but these movies attract toxic fans. I started following because of Nolan's videos, but I think I'll unsuscribe now. Best luck with your projects!!!
@@pdzombie1906 It depends on what kind of fan of the project you are discussing in my personal opinion. But that’s fair enough man, there’s no beef. I’m still covering Nolan and other things I just don’t only focus on one thing if you get me. Like to broaden my interests.
I have still not understood what exactly do people don't like about this movie. Everything is perfect - The looks, the acting, the CGI, the costume, the story, the music like, literally everything is perfect!
Superman being unaffected or remaining callous to the catastrophic collateral damage with possible casualties in the one on one battle with Zod, papa Kent's stupid and preventable death, Lois Lane being heavier than all the larger objects getting sucked into the black hole in the climax These are some of the most unwanted, stupid things in Man of Steel which if not for its positives would have absolutely ruined the film !!!!
Zimmer is a God. This score proves it. You can compare tracks like "arcade" and "what are you going to do when you're not saving the world" to other superhero scores (not by Zimmer) and the quality difference is laughable.
Yaa. His score makes me feel like I can fly and shit. Actually it makes me feel the anxiety, fear, strength, love, responsibility and epicenes of being Superman..
my oldest son was 10 when MOS came out, i still remember the looks on his face when all the action set pieces were taking place he was truly blown away.
I never cared what people said or complained about Man of Steel was and is a Masterpiece. Zacks reverence for the characters is why his movies always move you. The imagery and musical scores also to me set this movie apart from all others.
Man of Steel is a masterpiece and this movie made me care about Superman, because of this movie he still remains one of my favourite superheroes. The way Clark was raised truly makes sense why Superman would fight against all those odds to protect humanity.
I was always a Batman fan and I found Superman too cheesy and lame. Then I watched MOS and damn, I started respecting Superman. Then came BVS and I absolutely rooted for Superman. That's how much these two movies moved me. I actually love Superman more than Snyder's Batman whom I also adore. That's the power this movie has had over me. Whenever I feel low, I watch First Flight and it makes me feel strong. MOS is my favourite superhero movie now. 🙏
One thing I love about MOS is the significance of his suit. We learn early on that Kryptonians culturally have a thing for whole body suits with capes attached to them. Clark is handed his own suit/cultural garments by his (biological) father with it's own colors, solidifying him as not only a Kryptonian, but also as a child of 🌎, making him sort of an ambassador for Krypton on his adoptive planet.
But one thing I never understood was the suit he ends up wearing is already on the ship they discovered wrecked in the Arctic. This was a ship that had been there for a long time. How did he have his family emblem on the suit already waiting for him?..
@@dray7276 Another RUclipsr figured that it was being tailor-made by Jor-El's programming within the ship's system as he & Kal were talking, which makes sense.
@@dray7276 also I believe that Jor-El said that the house of El have been scientists for generations, so it wouldn’t be too far fetched to assume that those are his ancestors aboard 🤷🏽♂️
It seems that most criticisms of this film are not based on errors or failings of the film itself (plot holes, bad acting or dialogue, etc), but more the film not meeting a certain expectation that the critic had before seeing it. That's not the film's fault, that is the critic's fault for creating expectations of a movie prior to seeing it. Judge it based on itself, don't judge it harshly because it isn't what you wanted it to be, i.e. a film exactly like the Donner film. Also, we already had a modern film that was based on the Donner film...and it sucked.
I believe the tone and colour palette Zack opted for the movie was basically a critical one, I think had the move been basically the same, just with a slightly more brighter tone it would’ve been more positively received
Also something to note is how when Clark was restraining zod he was using words before action and desperately trying and failing to get through to the last of his race so he didn’t have to do something he didn’t want to.... but fate is cruel sometimes and had to do the only thing he logically could only do in the situation.
Clark doesn't want to kill anyone.. throughout the film, he restraints himself as much he wanted to hurt people..but he believing in his father's ideals, as much he wanted to do something more in life when he was a teenager.. he sees his father save people in the tornado and sees his own father die for his ideals of selflessness, courage and love. Which he does the same in BvS.
@@lonewolfgamingplus379 Superman being unaffected or remaining callous to the catastrophic collateral damage with possible casualties in the one on one battle with Zod, papa Kent's stupid and preventable death, Lois Lane being heavier than all the larger objects getting sucked into the black hole in the climax These are some of the most unwanted, stupid things in Man of Steel which if not for its positives would have absolutely ruined the film !!!! I would give MOS a solid 7/10 !!!! But BvS is an extremely average film if I'm being generous, and a bad film if being unbiased
He could have literally attempted to move Zod's head away from the people in the corner. Instead he just snapped his neck without trying anything else.
@@bumface1810 he understands him very well. He understands that that people connect to Superman not on a cartoonish level, but on honesty and overcoming overwhelming odds no matter what.
@@tauhid9983 if you're looking for superhero film it will be disappointment but if you wanna see the actual cinema with an iconic superhero then this is a masterpiece ❤️
@@heimdallstatus1376 huh? This is a comic book superhero film...if what I am watching isn't what it is. Then how is it a cinematic masterpiece...you are contradicting yourself. Also my argument wasn't about superhero. The character itself doesn't have clear motivations....that's a major flaw right there.
Likewise. Every rewatch makes me feel hopeful and powerful. I often rewatch the "Flight" scene as an antidepressant. As someone who's grown up, feeling very alienated and conflicted my whole life, Clark's story really resonated with me. Whenever I'm in a slump and am not sure what the right thing to do is, I ask myself, "What would Clark Kent do?"
There will be no another Man of Steel, it is unique and special. The scale of this film should be appreciated and loved for its boldness, its tremendous impact for bringing the Last Son of Krypton to our world. I appreciate Superman more than ever thanks to this movie.
That movie was great, it made me feel so sorry for him. Everyone forgets the most important part of his name. He may be Super but he is still just a man with all the same flaws and weaknesses as everyone else. It was a masterpiece!
Its a shame that so many people wanted a remake of Christopher Reeve's first Superman film and were not open to a different interpretation of the character. And because they complained so much we never got a MOS trilogy with Cavill.
I disliked the original Superman movies, they weren’t really to good to me. MoS is my favorite Superman movie even with some things I disliked though overall it was pretty great.
Funny those people would want that, considering there's already a Superman remake of Christopher Reeve movies. It's called Superman Returns. Oh, wait, I forgot... Nobody fucking remembers that movie. Which was its main problem: it was nothing.
Zods exact words... "I'm going to make them suffer Kal. These humans you have adopted, I will take them all from you one by one."...... "There's only one way this ends Kal.. Either you die or I do." So I completely understand why Superman snapped Zod's neck because imagine if Zod won and killed Superman... Imagine Zod ripping every human he finds limb from limb (including you) until there are no humans left....
"We'll never get to see him walk." "Goodbye, my son. Our hopes and dreams travel with you." "Make a better world than ours, Kal" "You ARE my son." "They'll stumble and they'll fall. But in the end, they'll join you in the sun." Great visuals. Great background music. Thought provoking themes. And above all, a great origin story with so much heart and soul put into the characters' lines. No other superhero movie has made me weep as much. That's how effective this movie was for me. Most of the criticism of the movie when it first came out now seem trivial and petty in light of the overall story the movie was telling - about a godlike alien who lost his home world, was raised by kindly humans, had to struggle to control his powers and to try to understand why he was so different, find his purpose and run into both good and bad humans along the way who shape his opinion of earth. He's still growing and learning when people from his lost home world suddenly appear and threaten to destroy an earth he still was unsure about. So, he decides to trust in mankind and give himself up but had to fight back when he had to to save a world he now sees as worth saving. He's still raw, and can be reckless at times but he's growing into the role. IMO
Superman came from a great stock; His parents on Krypton were amazing people with great values. Then he gets blasted off to earth where he is discovered by his new parents that are amazing human beings with great values. This beginning makes Superman who he is. If he had terrible parents on earth, the earth won't exist anymore.
It’s because his films are layered Like an onion 🧅 - kidding! He’s always reminded me of Ridley Scott - a visually stunning director that puts a lot of thought into his films - the more I watch Scott’s work the more I get out of it - same with Snyder They both challenge the viewer as well Both also place religious imagery and theological themes into their films Works of Art - not just big budget studio directors They both stand apart to me
Thanks for this excellent review! When I saw the film in 2013, I loved that it showed a "real world" reaction to Superman's existence. The 1978 film (like the comics) had the world accepting Superman without question. I do not think the US military would ever do that. And Zack was correct in going with that approach. I also knew Clark was protecting us from Zod after only having just become Superman. So, he had a lot to learn; and Zack showed that. Henry's performance is great and I'm very excited to see his performance in Justice League on March 18th.
I’m baffled by the amount of people that dislikes the movie. I agree with many of the points made in the video, Synder’s Superman not only did a great job at showing Superman’s continuous amount of self control. He also laid out the many life lessons Clark needed to one day become the iconic persona of Superman.
Quality essay Cortex ! Man of Steel is in my eyes the best live action origin comicbook movie I've ever seen , Clark is a character who only understands what he is truly capable of or has the notion of what his true purpose is until he is in his early 30s after living so many years in fear of what people would think of him being an alien , There are so many allegories and themes for the audience to connect with , I feel like this development of Clark rings true with many people , especially men who feel the pressure to make something of their life and with the surgence of social media that pressure has become even more paramount feeling like as if you don't have what another person is showing , when in reality we all wake up to see the same sun , we naturally have an instinct to protect and honor the things we hold close to our hearts , and if we feel that we haven't accomplished our goals we beat ourselves up about it , its preinstated that failure is not an option , when really its just a way of life , their is no faliure, you live and learn their is no time limit to greatness thats what I took away from man of Steel 💯
Most underrated superhero film. Next to BvS. Great cast. Wonderfully in depth story. And realistic. I love Marvel films for abit of fun and escapism. But love the DCEU more because it tackles superhero films in a realistically light. Particularly around death, and collateral damage. Which the MCU kind of just ignores.
The mention of Superman having to learn to protect the innocent from collateral damage is hinted at in this video, but in BvS, it's Bruce Wayne's mantra. Bruce opens BvS as someone horrified at the sheer scope of the damage inflicted, it clouds his judgement driving his narrative and at the end he has to explain to Wonder Woman 'why' he baited Doomsday to the docks. The MCU's recognition of collateral damage is skewed and only serves as a plot device to create the accords and 'split' the hero base up for a 'Civil War'.
I'm a fan of both DC and Marvel but collateral damage plays a big part in the MCU aswell, the whole of civil war is to do with the collateral damage of sokovia etc.
..and people think dis-liking or being critical is the same as hating something. Also saying "..it's so badass.." is like saying it's REALLY good. That's people for you.
This video resonated with me, and I agree with your points on what I feel is a terrific film. I can't wait to see if HBO MAX delves further into this snyderverse in the years to come. Further dives into the world of this version of Clark Kent seem pretty well suited on this particular platform, and at this time.
Superman Returns, which was the comic accurate and Reeves follow on could only make 300 million dollars worldwide. MOS made over double that because it was a different a take on the character and something far more people could relate to, he was more human than he had ever been in that movie and while people say there was no hope in the movie is just nuts. 1. The oil rig, he saved everyone on it when they thought they were all going to die. 2. The Bus, the saved everyone when they were seconds away from drowning 3. He surrendered to mankind to save the earth 4. He took down multiple Krypton’s while also shielding civilians and military personnel 5. He took down the world engine even thou he knew he would be weaker around it, that was hope pure and simple and courageous. 6. He stopped Zod just before he was about to destroy the plan to send all of the Krypton’s officers back to the phantom zone. 7. He killed Zod because he knew one death would ensure the survival of billions. Hope was in abundance in this movie and no matter what anyone says this is my favourite Superman movie and favourite solo superhero movie of all time.!!!! Masterpiece
Hands down one of the greatest superhero films ever made, casting was on point, realistic and dark tone is what i want from DC. Cavill is just the perfect Superman
Great synopsis of a film I thoroughly enjoyed when it arrived on the big screen... The focus on Superman's relationships, and trying to fit into a world that truly, as a whole, was fearful of this man they did not fully understand, as well as his motives with the power he possessed, was spot on IMO... Anyway, thanks, and I subscribed... Take care, and God bless..
The fact that he watched his father die in front of him because of a tornado which he could of saved him easily (undetected) rather than natural causes which teaches our that you can’t save everyone and the fragility of our species is just unforgivable.
A lot of people don't want "realistic" superheroes. They want them to exist in a vacuum where morals go unchallenged and everything is absolute. In other words, they don't want the character of Superman, they want the IDEA of superman.
I have watched MOS over 40 times and each time I watch it is if I had never seen it before. I am still blown away by the movie and I still get emotional watching Clark Kent's journey. This movie perfectly gets why I love Superman.
You have conveyed most of my feelings towards this movie brilliantly. I have been a defender of it since it's release and still to this day it is my favorite DCEU movie. But then again Supes has always been my favorite hero of all.
Ahhh, the film everyone pretended wasn't a master piece. What happened around this film taught me a lot about how fickle fans are, and why Hollywood is afraid of trying new things. I loved this film from the jump and I was shocked when i started seeing the reviews, then all of a sudden, last year actually I see a RUclips video that had a person saying "After watching it after all these years, I have to say, maybe I was a bit too harsh". But the damage was already done, wasn't it?
I have seen many reviews of man of steel and disappointed because they donot understand the movie. Everything you said is correct. This movie shows the real sense of a superman.
its a super high quality movie. masterfully directed. the 2nd act from his arrival on earth to the start of the big fights, may be the best sequence I've ever seen. so many amazing scenes and classy touches.
I cried during the school scene when he’s in the closet and his mother comes to calm him down. Imagine my voice as an island...can you see it...swim to it 😢😢😢
I love how now that Zack's JL came out, people are going back to MOS and BvS and acknowledging them as great movies. I think that people didn't like them because they didn't fully understand the movies, imo one example is the martha scene from BvS and people are now understanding what the scene actually means. It also helps that we can now see the connection between all three films especially with the flash scene from BvS. I loved these movies from first watch.
Same here. I didn't love it the first time. I was overwhelmed by it. I liked it enough to watch it again. By the third time, it clicked. I suddenly got what it was. I loved BvS after the first viewing and BvS ended up making MOS even better. The two together is like one big masterpiece of film making to me. And I'm sure JL will complete it. Can't wait.
Already 8 Years since Man Of Steel... A very insightful review, I agree with the realistic approach in a super hero flick & to be honest when you experience the final act you understand why this film could certainly not be light hearted. Edit: Your channel is one of those which inspired me to start my RUclips journey and share with others my love for film. Keep up the great work mate!
That is so amazing to hear Oniriscope. I will check out your content and subscribe. Great to hear someone else who also has a spot for man of steel like myself. Keep up the great work man, and glad you enjoyed my review!
The only reason why BvS sucked was because they didn't show the actual full film (ultimate edition) in theaters. If that's the movie they had released, it would have gotten more love in my opinion. It's a masterpiece
I've watched BvS three times, once in the theater and twice for the Ultimate Edition. Neither changed my mind that it's not a good film. The story and characters never really felt solid and the extra stuff that was put back in was just not needed. I really only watched this movie for the introduction of Wonder Woman, who did not disappoint. What should have happened was a MoS2. Get the character more comfortable in his skin and coming to terms of being Superman and living his life as well as the world fully accepting him. Then you could have done BvS.
@@artboymoy Yeah but I also feel like WB doesn't know what to do with their content. They sign people on but constantly mess with creative freedom. I just hope the upcoming films are good and they can get traction again.
I left the theatre feeling mixed. Pacing was much different- and unexpected. But on my second viewing, and every one after, it just gets better and more engaging.
@@virgogaming6488 so bravery against tornado is silly while heart attack is not silly ? wow, dude, that is sad honestly, even though heart attacks in real life are dangerous by accidents, not naturality of age,
People say the story is too depressing, but Clark literally has the most depressing story, Bruce lost his planets, Clark lost his planet and everyone in it, there is literally no one on earth you can understand his pain
I never found this movie to be "depressing" or "lacking fun". I felt there was too much destruction at the end and there was a few stupid moments but overall I really liked it. Solid 8/10, imperfect movie, great first entry for a cinematic universe with some room for improvement.
I thought it was ballsy to give us snippets of his childhood. But it was even more sobering to see how isolated he was, that he didn’t have any friends. That really grounded him for me.
This is my all time favorite hero movies. It blew my mind the negative feedback it received. Everything about this movie is great. Absolutely love the fight scenes.
This movie is Fantastic and so underrated..... Sadly we should have had MOS 2 & MOS 3 by now. WB has wasted our time, Henry's time & this story arc. Hopefully we'll get 2 & 3 soon with the success of the Snyder Cut JL.
The original Superman movie and MOS are two completely different films, with different influences. Richard Donner's film is heavily influenced by '30s screwball comedies ( in the Lois and Clark scenes) and '50s Big Sky dramas( in the scenes taking place in Smallville). Donner would have extensive knowledge of these types of films, and chose to update them for a '70s audience. MOS however, is more about a man trying to discover who he is in its first half, and is similar to Batman Begins in that regard( both written by David S. Goyer) and its second half is a full on alien invasion film. The scenes on Krypton are very Heavy Metal art influenced. Serious sci fi is normally frowned upon by general audiences, and MOS is no exception.
Such a great movie. Watched for the second time just the other day as I have forgotten all how the movie developed. Is probably one of the best superheroes movie I have seen. Cavils performance is just magnificent but so is the entire cast and the development of the movie. The scene where Clark lost his father in order to protect his identity still brings me sadness to this day as I have lost a parent also and he acted so damn real that I felt his pain genuine. When an actor can reach an audience this way he deserved our respect is not easy to push these emotions into others.
Broooooo paw Kent telling Clark it wasn’t time yet when he went to save him from the tornado was literally the FIRST EVER moment in a film that actually made me cry.
I like your honest assessment of the movie. I wonder if we did not have Superman the Movie and the remaining films to compare to Man of Steel if it would have fared better? Sometimes I think disappointment could be avoided if we watched this movie without preconceived ideas or notions. Man of Steel was not a perfect film and I never expected it to be. I watched the movie based on what I was presented and judged it based on that. It still remains my top DCEU film with Wonder Woman a close second. I can understand not liking it but I definitely think it was the shipwreck some make it to be.
One of the biggest issues is that people wanted the Christopher reeves superman. Goofy and optimistic. When that’s just not what allows a film maker to tell a compelling story. Zack Snyder is truly a filmmaker who wants to talk about themes and meaning in his films which aren’t possible through the classic supermen. People had notions going in. So people let their wish for it to be a certain way effect their judgement. I firmly believe the Snyder dceu films will age very well. Similar to the prequels. In about 10 years when people really watch them objectively and get the marvel bias out of their mouths they will appreciate what this film. Does and how unique it is. And how great it is
Man of Steel was a very high quality production. I will never forget how much i enjoyed watching it at the Cinema. I am glad they packed in massive city shattering action scenes and the music was absolutely brilliant, particularly the ship escape scene. We need a sequel!
I never understood the complaint by critics who said it took itself too seriously? Was it not supposed to be serious about the story of Superman? I agree with you that most of the critics were just hating on this movie because it was the fashionable thing to do with Snyder’s movies 🙄
Man of Steel came out when Marvel Cinematic Universe was already 5 or 6 movies deep. Many casual fans have been already brainwashed and infatuated by MCU formula. So Man of Steel was compared and criticized harshly for being the polar opposite of MCU movie theme and style. If Man of Steel came out in 2003 instead of 2013, this movie would have been a billion dollar blockbuster with 92% rotten tomatoes rating. Justice League Snyder cut also made a lot of fans and critics realize that Snyder really had a vision. Snyder really accomplished a history, conflict, unity and epic ending with a trilogy instead of MCU's 10+ movies.
I loved Man of Steel. It's not perfect but hell it was absolutely stunning. The world couldn't accept Man Of Steel just as society couldn't accept Clark Kent's real identity as Kal El.
The reason I hate it when people say they dont like this movie is because superman isnt happy go lucky guy like the original superman...bro superman had God powers but has the flaws of humans...of course he can't be perfect and that's what MOS delivers such an amazing movie...its grounded
This is my favorite superhero movie. Idc what other people think. It has some flaws, but for me, it gets so many things right, and I keep coming back to watch it.
Recently, I watched it the third time and came away knowing it is a masterwork. The story arc, action, direction, cast and soundscape make it an unrelenting spectacle that may be overwhelming the first time. Definitely one of the best superhero movies, eva. Watch it again.
I absolutely love this movie but over the years, I've come to the conclusion that Zack Synder could potentially make a DBZ movie, if he was given the opportunity.
Henry Cavil's superman to me has more of maturity, physical and relatability than Christopher's Superman. Man of Steel in my opinion is the greatest Superman ever made not to take away from the incredible depiction by Christopher and awesome script of original Superman, MoS to me is simply on another level in turns of different take on Superman in more of modern take, storytelling, emotional connections, Zack Snyder's amazing action sequences, original scores, visual and inspiration for hopes representing by Man of Steel. Man of steel magnified how selfless is like by some of the characters throughout its storytelling mark the purpose and belief come to made what Superman is becoming and about. Man of Steel had successfully transform the typical superman feel into more of contemporary and fill with more of meaning and purpose for the character! Oh, Michael Shannon's villain role in general Zod was fantastic as well and the final battle scene where Superman has to make the toughest choice of his life to kill the only other Kryptonian left in the universe in order to save vulnerable human family stamp his no kill mentality. Imagine a man with his super power but has no concern for killing...that is what make superman the greatest superhero, he realized that he can easily kill anyone in the universe, but he has the ultimate choice to NOT DO SO! That is what Man of Steel my greatest pick for all Superman movies, the true purpose of superman was beautifully shown throughout the movie.
I just watch MoS last night. It's been a while since the last time I saw it. I watched after Snyder's cut & even BvS UE. Even before I remember liking it then but watching it again I really enjoyed it and appreciated it more. MoS is indeed ahead of it's time. Snyder's Vision if DCEU gets better with time. You understand & appreciate it more.
Most of the complaints I've ever heard about this movie make me ask, "Seriously, did you actually watch the movie?" Superman doesn't save anyone. Literally the first thing we see Clark do is save those men on the burning oil rig. He vandalized that guy's truck. In a similar situation in Superman 2, Superman physically assaulted a man who was helpless before him. Both situations could be argued to be excessive reactions, and probably things Superman should have let slide. But one version at least limited his retaliation to property damage. Superman killed tons of people fighting Zod in Metropolis. Most of the damage was done by the World Engine, which Superman was on the other side of the planet destroying the other half of. And when that was dealt with and he made it back to the city, well, he's up against the greatest warrior of Krypton, who is not exactly going to follow the Marquis of Queensberry rules of combat, and agree to take the fight away from bystanders. He can't exactly stop fighting Zod to rescue random people. If he even tries, his attention is off Zod, and Zod either attacks him, or kills a few thousand more people while he's not focused on Superman. And the only time we see any bystanders directly threatened in that fight, and I have watched it many times, I know this for sure, is when he tries to heat vision that family at the end. It's kill Zod now, or Zod will kill them, and countless other families, until Superman finally does what is necessary. I loved Man of Steel. And the proper cut of Justice League (let's all pretend Josstice League never happened). I really want more Zack Snyder DC movies.
The people who says that Sups shouldn't have killed Zod... What did you spect? There's no jail on earth that could contain Zod, Sups must fight Zod forever? What if he looses? That was only way, sadly
I don't know who disliked it but I liked it and watched it maybe over 300 times so I don't care who didn't liked this gem. I think people are so absorbed in fantasy that they forgot about reality
100% In a time of the Marvel cookie cutter films these are masterpieces. I still like the MCU but they are clearly not in the same league as MOS and BVS for character and story.
Specifically to not only America, I’m literally shocked people can’t see parallels between MOS and our society .... to see MOS as something to be dismissed or mocked ... take away multiple viewings for entertainment sake alone, MOS is absolutely a modern, relevant telling of Kal- Els story.

Agreed. A lot of people who criticize it compare it to something else. That's just a bullshit way to view a movie.

Man of Steel and Batman v Superman are two films that have aged surprising well!!
Remember, before Disney bought marvel, their movie kinda realistic and some were dark too.
You speak from my heart, thank you
I'm a fan of both DC and Marvel but collateral damage plays a big part in the MCU aswell, the whole of civil war is to do with the collateral damage of sokovia etc.

2. The Bus, the saved everyone when they were seconds away from drowning
3. He surrendered to mankind to save the earth
4. He took down multiple Krypton’s while also shielding civilians and military personnel
5. He took down the world engine even thou he knew he would be weaker around it, that was hope pure and simple and courageous.
6. He stopped Zod just before he was about to destroy the plan to send all of the Krypton’s officers back to the phantom zone.

This world don't deserve Man of steel 😭
YES!
Great cinematography. Great music. Incredible story, Great pacing. Perfect movie
And how great it is
This movie is the definitive Superman origin story. A masterpiece. I can watch it over and over again.
Man of Steel was a very high quality production. I will never forget how much i enjoyed watching it at the Cinema.
I am glad they packed in massive city shattering action scenes and the music was absolutely brilliant, particularly the ship escape scene.

I absolutely love this movie but over the years, I've come to the conclusion that Zack Synder could potentially make a DBZ movie, if he was given the opportunity.
DBZ?
I rewatched this just earlier today, and man it was truly amazing, I'm starting to think people hate Snyder just for hating.

Was not only MOS but all Zack snyder DC movies including wacthmen are ahead of his time....if they release now was create way more impact
Most of the complaints I've ever heard about this movie make me ask, "Seriously, did you actually watch the movie?"
Superman doesn't save anyone.
Let's be honest though Hans Zimmer's score tho
The people who says that Sups shouldn't have killed Zod... What did you spect? There's no jail on earth that could contain Zod, Sups must fight Zod forever? What if he looses? That was only way, sadly
I don't know who disliked it but I liked it and watched it maybe over 300 times so I don't care who didn't liked this gem.
I think people are so absorbed in fantasy that they forgot about reality
Finally someone appreciating the beauty of Man of Steel
Man of Steel and Batman V Superman are misunderstood masterpieces.
100% In a time of the Marvel cookie cutter films these are masterpieces. I still like the MCU but they are clearly not in the same league as MOS and BVS for character and story.

😂
always loved the original Soundtrack on this movie
and also some moments about the film
I agree with you a hundred percent.
Specifically to not only America, I’m literally shocked people can’t see parallels between MOS and our society .... to see MOS as something to be dismissed or mocked ... take away multiple viewings for entertainment sake alone, MOS is absolutely a modern, relevant telling of Kal- Els story.
Great video! I would recommend that you watch man of steel answers! Or Samuel otten. They put hours of break downs and love for the movie, cast and score.
There are lots of video analyzes of these movies. It's crazy. A great on is "Why I hated BvS."
still has the best action fight scenes of any superhero movie as of present day
Amazing analysis of the film. I was one of the people who loved the film from the get go. I was so sad it was met with such skepticism and hate.
MOS is my all time favorite movie.... just love it
