This sounds so helpful, but for me the joy in having a shiny is knowing that I put in the time in to grind for it.
True. It’s cool but if you didn’t work for it, it doesn’t feel like a REAL shiny. You didn’t REALLY put in the work. When I shiny hunted sobble it felt good because I knew that I worked for it.

Normal shiny breeding might be tedious, but when you get the shiny you've been working for, it feels great!
Its not hard, just tedious and frustrating, if you have bad luck.

Austin, my dude, I have been trying for a shiny Wooloo since the day the game came out. I finally took a break at 700 to complete the game, dex and acquire the shiny charm. I then went back to encounter over 1500 and am now using the Masuda method. It's taken so much time that I cannot let it go. I bought it and am using it and whatever moral qualms I had are drowned out by satisfaction that I've managed to save remaining sanity.

You were probably doing it wrong. You only get additional chance to find a shiny from the brilliant Pokémon. So you no doubt wasted all those times encountering non-brilliants.
Did you get the pokemon you were after the shiny sheep also what did you think of the device for shiny hunting?
@@LuciferAsh I thought the way you shiny hunted in the wild is you just knocked em out and used KO methods. Also my sister hunted for that shiny for a long time and never got it I think she did something wrong. Sense everytime she has hunted she failed to ever see a shiny.
@@gamer-jm6my I got it when this video was newer and have used it off and on. It’s simple and works perfect! I like to shiny hunting myself mostly but I do use it on occasion when something is being stubborn. Always gotten my shiny Pokémon no matter how many boxes it filled up.
Trust me when I say this: Getting a shiny by yourself may take a while, *but boy, is it worth it.*
can not agree enough! ive only done it once on ultra sun chaining for shiny pikachu 3days and got a shiny pichu! the feeling is amazing!! i couldnt even imagen just finding one though that would be amazing!

Agreed, I got a random shiny lilligant, my first non fan game or spin off game shiny Pokemon (I got it in the dynamax hole in sword and shield)
Maybe if you don’t have a life and can spend days doing something like that, people with jobs and friends and family typically don’t so maybe don’t shame people for wanting easier ways to access cool features like that in games.

At the end of the day, the pokemon was obtained legitimately, just not necessarily by you. It would be similar to trading for a shiny, which is still a win in my book.
In your mind when you'll get it, it will still not have the same feeling as when u hunt it for long

The only problem I have with getting a shiny from trading or something like that is it not being owned by me because I like that I can look at a pokemons summary see that its shiny and it be under my gamertag, thats what I find satifisfying in my opinion.

@@skinnylegpocket7885 The problem with that analogy is with many of those things, while a tool is being used, a human behind it is putting in the effort to make those happen. The fishing rod won't pull the fish in because it's only a tool to reach inside the water so you can pull. Without the person to input the letters in a computer, the computer does nothing. If I were to use wallhacks or aimbot is it just using a tool then? Simply put, using this is botting which is cheating on every level.

I ran into a liepard in the wildzone to train my pikachu and it was SHINY! I have it in a permierball, lv 100 and special attack set up. Its so cool.
The only shiny I have is a Gyarados, and it was from the event. I wish I had Nintendo online so I can complete my Pokédex and get a shiny charm. :(

Yooo my shinies are Skwovet, Flygon, Pikachu and Tapu Lele. Pikachu was transferred from Let's Go, Skwovet and Flygon were found entirely randomly, and I hunted for the Lele. My Surprise-traded hacked in Pokémon are a Ditto (with Pokérus), Dracovish and Cinderace, which I all ended up releasing.
Hey shiny ditto gang lol, my first shiny. But i ended up trading it and got a shiny luxray, then surprise traded a pokemon to get a shiny lvl 100 ladybug thing i forget its name but it was a stupid advertisement. And since u cant change names i released it lol

I have raynaud's syndrome (my hands barely work when it gets under 65F inside/outside), this sounds like an amazing item to use. I can also see people with arthritis using this as well. These sort of devices make it possible for disabled people to do things they normally would struggle with.
I can second this. I haven't even used my device with pokemon yet, I've been busy marveling at how much it saves me hand pain in animal crossing and recommending it to my friends with joint issues/pain/etc.

The time of the shiny hunt gives the sentimental value of the shiny, not just something you get for free. It comes at a cost and that cost is something that you put in to get back in experience.
so I got this, and it seems good...but I notice my character keeps standing still for awhile, it then picks up and does something, but seems it spends a strange amount of time standing still
I got that switch up device today and I noticed my character doing the same thing as well. It also randomly spoke to the guy next to the day care about changing my bikes color to my flame body pokemons typing

Well sure, but.. How do you 'patch' this? You could program in checks for that specific behavior, which is only a short-term solution, or possibly an algorithm that tries to check for this kind of perfectly executed repeated behavior.. But it could still be subverted. And, frankly, I'm not confident that Game Freak is Competent enough to try. Nintendo might, but, until switches become iphones, the system is vulnerable for as long as they have working USB ports..

I know everyone is saying this but it really is true that it feels much more rewarding to grind for that shiny yourself. This would be helpful to people who genuinely don't care about that aspect of it though and just want a shiny to have a shiny or many if they just think the shiny variant of a specific pokemon looks cooler.

I mean not really. Its just taking the same actions we already preforme to shiny hunt in an automated fashion. Its not really doing anything unfair that would give you an edge in the game

Always love catching my Pokemon updates from Austin John Plays, I somehow missed this one until just last night, went ahead and ordered one up from Amazon lastnight.
My one wild shiny hunt was back on an earlier pokemon when we could sometimes get the swarm battles where we'd fight 4 or 5 wild at a time. I Miss that as much as I miss Mega Forms

My son hatched over 600 shuckles... he came and handed me the controller with instructions... me with no real controller ability ran into the grass and caught his FIRST shiny of the game... an espurr... broke his mind! I bought myself sword and console since we had fun... 5 minutes into the game I caught shiny rookie and didn’t know it until I was trading with him and now I’ve been schooled on how to recognize shiny Pokémon... now I’m hatching shuckles and he’s found a few more shinies... I’d LOVE to get him this device for Christmas... he’s done his TIME already this will even those ridiculous odds!

Technically, it makes no difference so long as you spent all that time hatching eggs. Because that's all this does, hatch eggs. The odds arent changed. Heck it might even waste time on faster eggs

That’s not a smart idea when the drop rates for shiny Pokémon won’t decrease for a long while. So unless everyone has hacked shiny Pokémon, it will never devalue.

@@rickyruins2272 No. It has various modes that accomplish a task. Some of the modes can be tweaked for load times or egg hatch times depending on different pokemon breeds. But the end user does not have the ability to freely change programing or anything. Not unless there is something I'm completely missing or you hack into the device or something. Now on PC I have make automated systems for PC games using certain tools that function a lot like the Switch Up. But that''s a different story. So no you have little control over the switchups automation. Which is not a bad thing but it would be nice to be able to tweak or make your own macros. If the Switch Up is not updated when you get it. Mine did not have program programed into it yet. I had to put it in my PC USB and easily update it.

I know that this isn't the place to ask, but just a question. Last time I was in competitive Pokemon was X and Y, so how do checking the IVs and EV training work now? I'm getting a headache trying to get back into it, I just want to know if breeding got easier for nature's and IVs, how to EV train, and any new methods. Maybe if anyone can direct me to a video describing it, would help alot. Sorry to bog your comment section with this.
Okay I got the switch up but I am un able to connect it to my Xbox one wireless controller. And I watched both this video and the tutorials on how to do it, even updated it. I made sure my switch had the pro controller option on before plugging it in. I hit the sync button on my controller, then hit the button that flashed blue to pick up Bluetooth, but it doesn’t pick it up. What am I doing wrong? Should I just use a switch controller and just go from there?

That's cool but as you said it's not smart so wouldent you still have to keep an eye on it to swap out your hatched pokemon into the pc so it can continue to shiny hunt? Or dose it put already hatched pokemon in the pc as well? I would be willing to try it for the novelty plus with it being a dongel I could use any controller on my switch witch would be nice for only twenty dollars.

I'd personally rather hunt them myself. I feel like having a shiny from that would be so much less rewarding. Also you probably would not actually see it hatch which is a big part I feel.

100% agreed; i don't know if it's just me but i prefer to hatch shiny pokemon instead of catching them.
Imo breeding is way better to get shinies. I could care less about watching it hatch so long as my foreign ditto / shiny charm / destiny knot is in place for Comp mons

so the description on these links says it includes enhances for mario and zelda, is yours custom or does it come with this same enhance as well but just doesnt advertise it?

I just did my first hunt EVER, and it was for a shiney Grookey egg. Boy oh boy how right you are. Wee hours of the morning, still up, should have gone to sleep hours ago, going in circles, picking up new eggs, moving newborns to box and eggs from box, going, going, going. almost passed out a couple times the other night, after 4 hours. Decided to sleep. Next day, less than 10 minutes into the hunt, BAM. Shiney Grookey!

I dunno, I felt just as happy finding a shiny Pawniard by accident as I did when I purposely found shiny Shuppet during hunting.
The key is the unexpected encounter. If you already plan to get one and have a machine for it, why bother shiny hunting at all?

Yea I like the thrill of finally finding a shiny, but I can see the appeal of using this for the less sought after pokemon like caterpie
P.s. I don't think its cheating. Others might consider it but it's been around for a long time. This is just a different presentation with more accessibility to what we already have

My Switch-Up does not bring up the options and change them (even though that's not an issue since I did it myself), but it's just stuck biking in loops and saving. It never flies back and picks up a new egg. What do I do?
Make sure the switch up is updated to the latest firmware. Make sure you fly to the daycare and are OFF your bike. Save the game then do the instructed steps on the manual. It should work fine afterwards. If you plan on turning off your tv or monitor make sure that you turn them off before starting up the shiny mod.

This crosses the line for me, I know if I wasn’t the one making the inputs in the game, it wouldn’t mean as much to me. The shiny has taken nothing from me so it means much less.
