Do you mind clarifying that? Is it the combination of battling and catching or is it just battling? I've been trying to do as much spoiler free research as I can....
@@crystaljewel8906 It's just battling. Gamefreak released information about how Shiny hunting works and how to get Brilliant Pokemon. The only thing you need to know is that the charts for the shiny chances for battling pokemon are always constant (no combos that increase shinies exist). The other thing to note is that if you chain the shiny that you're looking for, the Pokemon will end up appearing more.
Iirc a guy in another video explained that it is 500 battles with a single species (which dont have to be after one another) listed in the pokedex as fought and then a catch combo where you catch 25+ Pokemon of that species in a row for the highest chances of getting a shiny. Combined with the shiny charm that would be the highest odds. So basically you cant go for random shinies that way anymore but instead have to farm one species at a time. Edit: you still can go for random shinies with enough luck I guess.
Actually, if you're willing to do a bit of grinding, Drizzile - Sobble's evolution - learns the bug-type move U-turn at level 30. So you'd be okay for the first gym if you did a bit of leveling.
That’s okay. For the Ponyta you can get it via the surprise trade. I got mine like that. I even got the three starters like that. For the gym leader that’s bad luck but don’t worry about Ponyta 😉
@- FrogGurl - dude i posted the comment a year ago 😭😭 its not my favorite, i dont like how fast the main story is, and i dont like that it was so much more expensive for less content, but i still think other people can enjoy it
It's a bit flawed saying that in order to increase the chance on finding Brilliant Pokemon, you need to keep catching them. You don't. You just have to keep battling them. The more battle encounters you have with a certain species of Pokemon, the higher the chance of encountering Brilliant versions.
Being able to learn old moves from pokemon you caught at a high level is the best thing they've added to pokemon outside of the wild area which is basically a safari zone that levels with you
Yeah this was just an untrue comment on his part. Brock was the first gym leader regardless of which Pokémon you started with. I remember how much of a breeze it was with my Squirtle
I have loved this game so far. It's been a ton of fun. I was able to do a raid with a friend, trade a couple pokemon, and just enjoy seeing it on the big screen so our son could watch, and play along too. It's so much fun to react so excitedly when he catches anything... like... his 8th wingull... but to still react like he caught a shiny Mewtwo has been great! It's really instilling an enjoyment of the game for him as well, I hope we can always share.
Missed something with remembering moves. The moves you can remember aren't just ones that you replaced or skipped over. They are every move that your pokemon could have ever learned up to that point. So it doesn't matter what level you get your Eevee to evolve at, you won't miss any possible moves.
@@paleoleft from what the Nintendo article said the combo is for fishing only and effects your chances of getting a brilliant pokemon. So yeah it does still matter technically... but not for shines or non fishable pokemon so it doesn't have as much use as people thought it did
WittyPractitioner no it still counts, not encounter combo but every 100 you deafeat the higher the chance, and if your catch 25 in a row your chance gets skyrocketed.
Depending on the moves sets you pick for the fire type you can beat every gym leader except for the water and dragon with just the right moves. I recommend one normal, 2 fire, and one fighting move to increase your chances of beating your opponents in the gyms.
6:18 when you said Zackian I about died oh my gosh. Zacian (Zā-she-un) I guess it’s fine if you want to say it weird, but that’s the official pronunciation, so now you know 👍🏻

I have two fun facts I found on accident. 1: There is, for some reason, an animation of throwing a pokeball at a trainer’s Pokémon. (Thanks drift) 2: In Galar mine No. 2, if you whistle in the stunfisk areas (pressing the left joystick), they will pop out like a bear trap, letting you know if that’s a Pokéball, or an fake one on a stunfisk

So far I like the new experiences like the Dynamax-Battles, the wild area or the new Pokémon. In previous games I could easily trade online for free to get Pokémon which I can´t get otherwise because I can´t find people to trade localy.
Honestly, your video is awesome! I have been playing pokemon Sword addictively on my Nintendo switch and i have never played pokemon apart from dabbling in pokemon Go at one point and I figured, "this probably makes sense to people who have played the previous versions" lol! Thank you for this video! Everything now makes sense
The Move tutor also has something most probably dont know, if a pokemon learns a move from a TR and forgets it, they can relearn it at any time from the move reminder guy as if they naturally learned it from level up
Dataminers have found that the Kanto and Alola Starters as well as most box legendaries and mythicals are in the game, most likely to be released as event specific pokemon later.
Haven't finished the video yet, but Scorbunny is great for a first run pretty much all the way through, not just the first gym: About half of the gyms consist of types weak to fire. The only two the evolution line may struggle against are the ground and water type gyms. However, most Pokemon in the ground gym are weak to fire, but Scorbunny's evolution line is weak to majority of the moves used in that gym, so a double-edge sword essentially. That, and it learns a handful of fighting type moves which do well mixed with fire type, in my experience. Just thought I'd throw this out there.
*Did you guys know that if you press the right side joystick like how you would press one of the buttons you can expand your view of the wild area as you move and if you press the left side joystick like how you would press one of the buttons you can whistle to call a wild and a flying overhead head pokemon to get their attention and run towards you to encounter over-world pokemon easier than just chasing them?*

Aside from the night and day cycle introduced in Gold and Silver I hope they also add a mechanic where the game would match the weather where you're from.
tbh that would be pretty cool, but it would make getting weather exclusive wild area pokemon a pain. instead of just changing your date to lock the weather, you'd probably have to wait for a while. and imagine trying to get pokemon that only can be found during snowstorms in a really hot place...
@@c_alam1ty here in Canada, we would get both. Only need to wait a couple of months. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. IT NEVER ACTUALLY STAYS ONE SEASON THE WHOLE TIME. So, every week we would get different climates.
Is it weird I hope this game bombs so they can take extra care with the next game and bring back National dex, mega evolution, battle frontier and Pokemon followers with multiple regions and capability to catch every Pokemon? All they need is a budget from after the 90s and a bigger team, which we know they can afford. A decent production time couldn't hurt either. Wishful thinking I know.
Idk. I'm havin a great time. Also I really dont want megas back. It was neat for a bit but just got so obnoxious after a while. At least dynamaxing doesn't happen in EVERY battle in the game. And I'm fine with not having all pokemon. Sure some pokemon i liked got cut, but I'll take quality over quantity. Also fuck having to balance 800+ pokemon. I think Gamefreak has done pretty damn well with their first try on the Switch.
I’ve liked it so far but I haven’t gotten very far in the game yet. It does seem like it’s a great deal easier than previous gens. Grinding to level a Pokémon doesn’t take as long as it use too. Not that it’s a bad thing.
I hate it. I use to love the sense of accomplishment completely obliterating gym after gym because I spent time constantly training each of my Pokémon to a ridiculous level. Sure it was tedious and Long but the satisfaction of just owning every trainer around you was soo worth it lmao. I don’t feel the same satisfaction with the newer versions since I took time for each of my Pokémon to train and evolve them individually before. And exp share kinda ruins the joy of leveling up my Pokémon and forming a relationship with them individually

It's a bit flawed saying that in order to increase the chance on finding Brilliant Pokemon, you need to keep catching them.
You don't. You just have to keep battling them. The more battle encounters you have with a certain species of Pokemon, the higher the chance of encountering Brilliant versions.

Falcon has such a good voice it sounds great even when he’s sick
Missed something with remembering moves.
The moves you can remember aren't just ones that you replaced or skipped over. They are every move that your pokemon could have ever learned up to that point. So it doesn't matter what level you get your Eevee to evolve at, you won't miss any possible moves.
I've been killing those max aura Pokemon cause I thought they only give you watts :/

Combo doesn’t matter in this game, just encountering it and also cathing or feinting it.
combo still matters lmao

I'd prefer it if it had a little more challenge or at least let me turn the Exp share off.
I hate it. I use to love the sense of accomplishment completely obliterating gym after gym because I spent time constantly training each of my Pokémon to a ridiculous level. Sure it was tedious and Long but the satisfaction of just owning every trainer around you was soo worth it lmao.
