It's an interesting guitar, but it's also ugly. Those pointed horns just don't make it for me. And Barney refused to play them in public because Gibson wouldn't give him a royalty from the sales. That's why there's almost no pictures of Barney ever playing one, and for the rest of his life he played his famous ES 350 ---- with the Gibson logo taped off because he was mad at them!
It's not an ugly guitar!
@@jamesbagshaw8251 RIGHT ON!! I *love* my 1966 clone!!
I love those Barney Kessel guitars. Wow! That one is really something special.
THE BARNEY KESSEL IS A COOL BOX
THEY HAD ONE @ WALLICHS MUSIC CITY ON SUNSET BLVD & VINE STREET THAT I WOULD GO IN & PLAY ALL THE TIME WAY BACK IN 1967

"says Do Not Touch, but since i own it right now, im gonna touch it" real boss shit
Awesome guitar! I'm curious, have you ever owned a Les Paul acoustic/ electric? I believe they were produced between 69 to 71? Thanks for sharing!!
Boy the price must be real high on that??
My ultimate guitar...I've got a Shaftesbury Japanese knock off I bought for £400. It needed better pickups! I'd love to get a Gibson
Truly a beautiful guitar!!! I wonder if you know anything about Japanese clones of the Barney Kessel models? I still have the guitar I bought new in 1967 that looks *VERY* close to this one, save that it has no markings at all. (Well "Made in Japan" is stamped into the neck reinforcing plate. Yes, it has a bolt-on neck.) I wonder if it could be an Aria? It still plays extremely well.
Thanks for any info you might have!!
Nice.
The rarity alone is super cool. Never played one so i dont know much about them. ,seen them tho and heard him play.
Inlays look a awfully similar to the ones used on a RB250 banjo of the same era
Very cool! I wonder what the FON# is on that beauty.
All the regular issue BK's I've seen were Cherry Sunbursts, that is unusual.
Holy shit!!
Nice prototype Norm!
NORMS!!!
Bunch of toggle switches where the knobs should be. Quite a guitar!
The knobs have been removed, those are the posts for the knobs, not toggle switches.
Yes I see. Rewatched and paused it. Glad that isn’t what was going on there.
