I do love looking at the scenery when I fly...as well as the stars. On my first international flight, which was to Sydney, I remember waking up from a nap. The cabin was dark and everyone was asleep. I looked out the window and there was the Southern Cross, bright and seemingly right outside my window. It was mesmerising.
Really liked your shots of Greenland. I was amazed at how far back the glaciers have retreated. There is one rather large rectangular looking field of glacial ice around time - 20:06. Impressive. I would agree with another previous comment - if you're sitting by a window, the REAL show is outside, not on the flat screen in front of you. The physical world, when viewed from above is a fascinating place to behold. Cheers...
I always book a window seat anywhere I go. The view around the world is beautiful no matter where you are. I can't take my eyes off it and I really don't understand why anyone else would want to look anywhere else but outside.
Thank you for mentioning how you feel over water. I'm a nervous flyer but I love traveling and flying is the best way to get places. Watching these videos actually helps me, although I still can't look out windows.
As far as observing what is going on outside the aircraft whilst in flight, one of my treasured memories is sitting in a window seat on the Concorde and looking out mid-flight and seeing the curvature of the Earth. What an experience!!
When I flew to Shanghai from Newark on United, I couldn't keep my eyes away from the window. I would stare out of it and watch all the amazing sites below me. A truly unforgettable experience.
On my trip to France in March 2001 I stayed with friends in the 10e arrondissement. I remarked how I could hear commercial aircraft in the distance but I never could spot one. I was told the routes are away from the major populated areas so the residents aren't disturbed by the noise. Oh, for anybody who has never been to Paris, I viewed The Eiffel Tower at a distance. It must be seen to believed. It is HUGE! I mean majorly, staggeringly huge! And beautiful.
Just as an FYI (not a criticism) the Paris Air Show is held every other year. It alternates with the Farnborough Air Show in England. Thought you might like to know. They are both great airshows! Two little tidbits about the 787 that make it a great airplane for long trips: Because of the composite fuselage the cabin altitude is kept at 6000 ft instead of 8000 ft, and because carbon fiber doesn't corrode, the cabin humidity is kept higher. Both of these help to reduce travel fatigue and headaches. Thank you for sharing your video.
I always stare out the window on flights. With movies I get bored, but even staring out over siberia for 6 hours on my way towards Europe from Japan doesn't bore me. There is always something to see! And I feel like when you look at the surroundings passing you by, time flies by faster as well. I might add that I can sit and daydream for hours on end without realising it whilst staring out these windows, which probably helps stave off boredom aswell
Just came across this video. I enjoyed it. Yes, I marvel at views from the window. Especially those daylight views of Greenland or Iceland from some 30,000 feet. Spectacular. On a recent daytime westbound flight from London to Toronto, without a window seat, I went to a door, opened the window shade (777-300), and soaked in the view above Greenland. How unbelievably special. Like you, I started out in Europe (London) early morning, and arrived in Denver late afternoon after looking down on Greenland and its icebergs in the space of a few hours! WOW!! Can't comprehend how other people can be so jaded as to not see such a journey and spectacle as incredible, and incredibly privileged. Ditto on the previous comment's reference to "airsnobs". Thanks for the video.
you prolly dont care but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid lost the login password. I love any tricks you can offer me!
Another amazing trip report 😉. Yes, like you, I am one of those travelers who looks out the window during flight ... especially when flying back to the U.S. from visiting my sister in Switzerland. Greenland never fails to spellbind me with its quiet beauty. Whilst this United flight looked great, my favorite is still Lufthansa. Their Senator First Class service has me spoilt. 🙄. Soon I will be retiring from my pediatric practice but it’s time. (I almost lost it the other day when one of my diabetic patients looked up at me and said ... Dr, Robb, Mommy told me you are retiring soon. I’m going to miss you!). That said, Cape Town and the Garden Route are on the agenda as is 3 weeks in New Zealand/ Australia and 3 weeks in Japan. Thank you again for your brilliant trip reports ... they will most assuredly help me in the next chapter of my life. 😁.
I'm glad I have discovered your channel. I am fascinated by travel, which is something I have never really had the opportunity to do, and I love the peaceful and quiet way you share the experience. Your music selections for the videos are lovely. I have even used your flight videos to help me fall asleep.
I've scanned the comments and am a little disappointed with the spirit in which some of them were written. They put everything down from the menu offerings (they look great to me) to your captions messing up their video viewing experience (what?!)! With all due respect, you go to a lot of trouble to chronicle these for us. I love going "with" you, and seeing through the camera lens the same things you do. On a much grander scale, being able to afford to fly with such niceties is indeed a great blessing. People would do well to remember the vast majority of the world's people do not know what and how they'll be eating their next meal. These "airsnobs" need a reality check.
These menus just let me know my Hubby will be eating what is left over, but I want each of everything. I am glad for the video since I cannot afford to fly. I went on one trip to India for a real treat and stayed with friends their and ate what they cooked, and loved every minute of it. That was the only set of flights I have had since we had to save for 4 years before that one.
Cheer up lady, if you can’t criticism then don’t watch the video. This business class is crap and it deserves to be criticised because there are a lot of other carriers who’s business class cost the same but have wider seats a 1 - 2 - 1 configuration so every seat has direct isle access. I’m paying roughly 6/7 thousand dollars for a business class return airfare so I’m definitely not going to expect to have step over someone’s leg or share an arm rest. This airline looks crap, & I’m glad there’s people like this youtuber who makes these videos so I know what to look for & can shop around and get better value and a better experience with the best airlines.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Your captions explaining history, airliner background, scenery and other aspects of your journey were spectacular. Thumbs up 👍... a definite 5 out of 5 stars from me.. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
I really appreciate how you video. You take your time and slow motions... you also stayed to the point, but not afraid to vier off and point out what's outside the plane, absolutely loved it. This was the first of your videos to watch, will definitely watch your other videos.
I flew United Polaris Business on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner -9 but it was the 1-2-1 layout. It was a great experience! United is an exceptional airline. I loved the way you filmed this video. The movement, the music and the filming. It always makes me feel relaxed especially on a Sunday morning. I hope you reach 10 million subscribers buy next year!
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.YOU ROCKED IT MAN.....IT FELT THAT ON EVERY SECOND I AM FLYING WITH YOU...DOING A GREAT JOB......WAITING FOR YOUR NEXT TRIP REPORT.THANKS A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really enjoy the information you include in the videos and that you show the hard product, the soft product and the view out the window of our beautiful planet. Your videos are so relaxing, peaceful and beautifully shot. Thank you for sharing your travels and for the effort you put into shooting and editing the videos.
I enjoy looking at the scenery, but because I am a steerage traveler, I opt for aisle seats rather than windows. I have never thought to check the turbulence. As far as flying over water goes, yes, I am a nervous flyer and I worry too. I am not at all aero-phobic, but I am nervous! The views of ice from this flight were totally mesmerising. What an experience! Thank you for the video.
I have never been on a plane before because I’ve had a reason, but after seeing your video of the sights from the air I want to go someplace, anyplace.
It is such a wonderful way to unwind and relax while watching one of your clips. This looked like a rather wonderful flight. Thanks once again for sharing.
Very nice video, I really enjoyed it! Regarding your comment about being the only person to observe the fabulous views, I agree with you. What is wrong with people? It seems more and more on flights, people want to keep the window shades down. I feel like I want to see the world going on around me! my personal opinion is, in this increasingly tech, social media world we live in, some people want to be in their own world. But when you are on a long flight over fantastic scenery, you can still do that while opening your eyes and seeing the world around you!
I have only flown over the continental US and there is not much to see from the air over the US. Maybe mountains, but not much else. Well done on the video.
Summer 2022 we fly from Europe to SFO, Polaris Business Class. Is a walk-up snack bar offered inflight? A most excellent video. I am excited for my own flight. Thanks for sharing...George
yes, I do look out the window and observe the scenery at flight. sometimes even during flights at night and look at the stars or when you think there's nothing to see but just ocean, I get to spot ships once in a while :)
Oh I love turbulence. I used to work as airline cabin crew and always enjoyed very bumpy flights - perfectly safe and they break the boredom on a long flight.
Awesome video as always, very thorough! I am a fan of all your captions and useful information about the aircraft, the airline, the route, and also the trivia info. I'm surprised though that UAL did not offer direct aisle access on this long international trip, looks like a configuration for a long haul domestic flight.
In 1969 & 1970 I was in the US Army stationed at the Presidio of San Francisco. At 23:27 you can see the Presidio (Spanish word meaning Fort), it's the big green area to the right of the Golden Gate Bridge. That area was the 6th Army Headquarters and I was in Army Aviation at the Crissy Airfield that was on the Bay, that sandy and grass area to the right of the GG Bridge. I lived on base housing in Marin County, so I drove across the GG Bridge twice a day for nearly 2 years. SF was a beautiful place at that time. The 6th Army moved to southern California and surrendered the Presidio to the state to be used as a State Park. I now live in Pennsylvania, retired.
Congratulations! This is what a flight report should be! It contained all the information that one would need to make a decision on the service provider. What more can I say? I have made my decision on my next trip from Europe to USA. Thank you, keep up the excellent work. PS The photography over Greenland confirms my own opinion from a trip on BA from London to Vancouver. That was when I first really understood the meaning of 'Glacier'. For those who miss it, I feel sorry. This is one of the wonders of the world that should be on everyone's Bucket List!
I always enjoy looking out the window when i select a window seat , I think that's a huge part of the pleasure of a flight, be it a seeming unchanging ocean below or a sea of clouds surging by...I think greenland from the air is fascinating once I saw a pod of whales distinctly from 35000'... And i l appreciate how the flight tracking is so much more sophisticated and the tail cameras too, I cant understand the lack of interest by so many travelers
J F I was yelled by a stewardess on aa for having my shade open. Apparently passengers complaining they couldn’t see their screen. That’s when I gave up on humanity
I'm quite happy your flight was free of "rough air" as our last experience with United was horrible including not being giving any beverage service as the rough air made it unsafe to offer service and then after missing our connecting being given a pillow and an ultra thin "blanket" and being told to go sleep on the floor while we waited 13 hours for our next flight. We were told it was our fault that we missed our connection as our first United flight arrived at 2145 and the door to our connecting United flight was closed at 2150 but we should have had time to run from one end of the airport (Newark) to the other end. United's only response was "sorry you were unable to make your connection but it wasn`t their (United`s) fault."
Terrific review and I'm impressed with United's biz class product. I grew up in San Jose, went to college at Berkeley and lived for a time in San Francisco with my father. I especially enjoyed your coverage of the approach to San Francisco.
I enjoyed your video and comments very much. I enjoy taking in as much scenery as I can when seated at a window. With the full roll-out of Polaris, United will have stepped the business class experience up quite a bit. I flew business class once from LAX to SYD in the 1990's in the upper deck of a B747-400. It was exhausting and uncomfortable by today's standards and aircraft, but still a rare experience to be savored. Not everyone has the opportunity to do something like this which, when you think about it, is still quite remarkable.
Another beautiful trip report. While the cabin configuration is awkward for solo flyers, the meals looked quite wonderful. I just love the over-water approaches in SFO and Hong Kong.
just came across your channel 2 weeks ago only flown 3 times in my 62yr life once private, 2 airline its strange but nice u do a great job showing different aspects of each airline, good camera work, its nice to see how 1st class an bus.class fly very lush.i be checking in time to time thanks.
Great commentary accompanying the video!!! You really did an outstanding job and greatly appreciate it! I flew the reverse from SFO to CDG in Business Class. Thanks again for posting!!!
I don't understand. If you are lucky enough to have a window seat and good visibility, why wouldn't you be staring out the window at the view? How often do folks get to fly over Greenland with such a clear sky? Lovely scenery, by the way. I haven't been on an airplane since donkeys years, but I did fly a few times as a youngster. Even just seeing all the different clouds out the window was exciting. I am so sorry you have anxieties about flying. I do have depression and anxiety issues, but not about flying. I would have two problems with flying; I have dangerously bad circulation in my legs, and I suffer from the pain caused by pressure in the ear.
Sandra Nelson • I have to agree with you - when can one see the world, thousands of feet up? Even if one frequently flies the same route, one can appreciate the widely- varying views due to season, time of day, etc. I would be disappointed and upset should I wind up in an aisle seat!
Wow! The aerial view of Greenland is just stunning! Thank you for providing all these beautiful videos. I am unfortunately too scared to travel. Do you travel for work or pleasure? I know you have mentioned you are a nervous traveller, it amazes me that you fly to so many destinations. Safe travels :)
A beautiful day for flying out of Paris. UA nicely appoints its 787 layout. The food loads basic but very good. Basic. In the sense that the have no odd dishes I can’t pronounce, but favorites, steak, sliced potatoes etc. you have lots of movie choices, I’m not a gamer so I can’t comment on that part. Your Panasonic did a nice job, colors and details were well done.
By far you are my favourite reviewer for flight experiences. Excellent music choices that come in at the right time. I also love the text box explanations and your superb job filming the flight views too. I also appreciate the take off and landing sequences so over all 💯
This looks fantastic! Even though I typically fly on British Airways or American Airlines to and from Europe, United looks wonderful! PLUS, they fly the 787! As much as I love BA's A380's, and their 777's, I'm jonesing for flights on a 787!
I don't know if the sound was captured properly but it seems to me that the GENX engines seem very quiet compared to other planes I've flown on. I've heard that they were quieter by design but I didn't think it would make this much of a difference.
Greenland looks amazing from the sky. I was just surprised that I was the only passenger who brightened up the windows to look outside and enjoy the scenery (which was much better than any inflight entertainment offering )
It seems that the B787 Dreamliner is the best in dealing with the turbulence. I traveled in this type of aircraft from Frankfurt to Toronto (Air Canada) and that was the smoothest flight that I have ever had. I guess this is because the average altitude of the flight is higher. The seating configuration is not the best, but the chairs are comfortable (in economy class as well).
So comparing the quietness and comfort level of B787 and A350, would you say overall both airlines have it's own qualities and they are essentially equal in those categories and that it truly comes down to the airline itself on how they configure their aircraft and the extent of their services?
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful trip report..5 stars! Great cam work (for me the stabilizer worked fine), very systematic and nice music arrangement (which is rare on such reports..would you mind sharing with me the piano link used at the beginning?). Soo much loved the first scene with the piano on this ICONIC people mover in CDG..wished the scene had been longer:) Product looked nice..though 2-2-2 is below par. Food looked good..wine list not convincing as usual on US carrieres..but at least they do have one now. I loved your informative comments and the outside views..specially over Greenland. I also observe that your window was kept open..so I assume they did not automatically close it like on most US carriers? So a clip on AA where they automatically dimmed it..I would never fly an airline which does this. Again..great video..and would love this piano peace some time myself, if you dont mind.
Great to see you here again in the comments section. Thx for your kind comments, means a lot. The first song is 'Dream Big' from Epidemic Sound. Safe travels!
I do love looking at the scenery when I fly...as well as the stars. On my first international flight, which was to Sydney, I remember waking up from a nap. The cabin was dark and everyone was asleep. Enjoyable video indeed. It felt like I was a part of that flight. Good job United with extraordinary service!
I always love to look out of the windows. Interesting that so few do it.
Thank you for mentioning how you feel over water. I'm a nervous flyer but I love traveling and flying is the best way to get places. Watching these videos actually helps me, although I still can't look out windows.

Beautiful video with great music at the end. You really got lucky having great weather and takeoff and landing patterns.

Great report. Your new camera is serving you well - the colours really pop when looking at your food! Nice job.
I already exchanged it for another one (the Panasonic LX15 has a suboptimal stabilizer in my opinion, making it not suitable for vlogging)
Great video! What is your new camera?

I am always admiring the view when I'm on a plane. A window seat is a must for me. Thanks for showing us the spectacular views on this flight.
Your meal looked wonderful I was so surprised to see something that nice on business class I will definitely consider United

Been to both cities twice but on separate trips. Must have been surreal looking down on Paris then hours later the Golden Gate.

Yes the Grand Canyon of Colorado a stunning views from Florida to Seattle and the Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona from Phoenix to Seattle
The best photos on my phone are the ones I took of Greenland while flying Emirates. It's so beautiful

Loved the views over Greenland amazing . love your take on travel
Yes, I love looking out the window in flight. That is why being in the air is wonderful. The full view it there. Otherwise, no need for windows.
Another beautiful trip report. While the cabin configuration is awkward for solo flyers, the meals looked quite wonderful. I just love the over-water approaches in SFO and Hong Kong.
The meals were surprisingly delicious indeed
The Greenland Scene is actully so relaxing.
just came across your channel 2 weeks ago only flown 3 times in my 62yr life once private, 2 airline its strange but nice u do a great job showing different aspects of each airline, good camera work, its nice to see how 1st class an bus.class fly very lush.i be checking in time to time thanks.
Thank you for your kind message
Love your videos luxury travel expert and always will
Great commentary accompanying the video!!!
Like Anything else once you have done it a few times it’s no big deal and most of us sitting in the front cabin have done it many times
John Iii even if I did it often I'd still look out and appreciate the nature outside
I couldn't agree more !
Sandra, people now prefer Instagram, Facebook and shitty movies.
Your new camera quality is wonderful
Wow. That plane is incredibly quiet when at full power.
God, I used to take this route a zillion times when they used 767’s. Always a great ride
I love the extra piece of info you provide along with the report.. Keep up the good work... Hope to meet you some day in person...
Do you get to keep the blankets and stuff? What do you do with all your amenities kits you collect?
Omg, this is one of the most amazing video. Thank you so much. ✈
Wow, very nice video. Well done.
Who else saw the Eiffel Tower?
Yep, saw it.
Dark Savage meeree
Saw that but after reading your comment !!
About 6:39 in the middle of your screen.
started enter the screen at right at or around 6:17
By far you are my favourite reviewer for flight experiences. Excellent music choices that come in at the right time. I also love the text box explanations and your superb job filming the flight views too. I also appreciate the take off and landing sequences so over all 💯
This looks fantastic! Even though I typically fly on British Airways or American Airlines to and from Europe, United looks wonderful! PLUS, they fly the 787! As much as I love BA's A380's, and their 777's, I'm jonesing for flights on a 787!
Absolutely amazing video. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Did you find any boogers underneath the tray table?
this flight report is gorgeous
Please keep your captions up a little longer so people can read through the whole thing.
I don't know if the sound was captured properly but it seems to me that the GENX engines seem very quiet compared to other planes I've flown on. I've heard that they were quieter by design but I didn't think it would make this much of a difference.
Beautiful footage over Greenland.
Good job whith the movement of the camera. Thanks a lot from Buenos Aires Argentina
So comparing the quietness and comfort level of B787 and A350, would you say overall both airlines have it's own qualities and they are essentially equal in those categories and that it truly comes down to the airline itself on how they configure their aircraft and the extent of their services?
Awesome views and observation of the airplane
Safe travels!
nice views of SF.. didn't know about the turbulence site..
Superb grt work grt video n grt views
High quality flight report. Stunning views.
thx
