Jackalxxx2011 Iron Maiden isn't considered as "Power Metal" (Nick Mc Brain himself don't even consider the band as Heavy Metal), and Bruce is a talented, and obviously influent singer, and great frontman, but he lacks somewhat of "emotion output" when he sings, he does the job, does it well, always gives the best of him, but I clearly don't (or very rarely) feel any emotion hearing him singing, compared as other great singers such as Rob Halford, Freddie Mercury, Eric Adams or Dio, who sing every word as if they absolutely believe it. I feel like any talented singer in the same vein could sing in Iron Maiden (when Dickinson left the band, Michael Kiske was rumored to replace him, I'm pretty sure if this had been the case, Bruce would have been quickly forgotten), but only Halford can sing Judas Priest (although I consider Tim "Ripper" Owens as the greatest Metal vocalist of his generation, along with Russel Allen), only Eric Adams can sing ManOwaR, only Dio could sing Dio, those voice have a strong identity and a strentgh of conviction that I don't feel in Bruce's voice.
Debiruman1666 Funny, I always thought that Bruce was a much more emotional and soulful singer than Rob Halford and that's one of the reasons I really prefer Bruce Dickinson over him... Dio, of course, rules unmatched.

Para mí el mejor es sin duda Roy khan. Los demás son grandes cantantes pero su voz es la típica del heavy/power metal: muchos agudos, chorro de voz potente...y poco más. Sinceramente, la mayoría de estos cantantes me suenan casi igual.
Roy khan es de otro mundo. Canta bien en registros altos, medios y bajos (en estos últimos fallan la mayoría de estos vocalistas), su timbre de voz es ÚNICO, aporta a sus canciones calidez, misterio, cierta oscuridad, evoca la época del romanticismo...y sobre todo y para mí lo más importante: no solo canta, él INTERPRETA sus canciones. Es capaz de transmitir un dramatismo como casi nadie sabe hacer.
No todo en un cantante es gritar en un registro vocal muy alto. El mejor cantante es el que consigue estremecer a quien le escucha. Un saludo a todos y larga vida al metal!!!
I agree with Daniel Konic, Fabio is the best one on here. When I think of the best metal singers, I look at who would do well in other genres of music besides metal where you actually have to sing well. As far as I am concerened, Fabio Lione, Roy Khan, Michael Luppi, and Matthias Blaad from Falconer are the 4 best vocalists in metal. Also Timo Koltipelto. The rest of these guys may not do well singing in other genres.

Daniel Heiman is the God of Power Metal Voice and the other singers are a light years away from Him, But my favorite is Kotipelto!
You must also consider their live performance. I've not seen them all live but for what the videos can tell and for I've witnessed live Fabio Lione is a total phenomena! He's by far the best symphonic metal type singer. Simply superior.

Chopureagle chopureagle People would say "he's not technicaly skilled enough"... but to be honest, I prefer Gamma Ray when he sings, than when Ralf sings, as I said earlier about Bruce Dickinson, Ralf has the same problem, great voice, he does the job and does it well, but he lacks of "emotion output" in his voice, I don't feel like he believes every word he says, and I feel like any skilled singer could take his place in any band... while Kai is maybe not a top-notch singer, but, something just happens when he sings... even versus Michael Kiske, when I hear "Victim Of Fate" by Kai, it feels more "raw", more "true" than Kiske's version, which is also fantastic anyway. To be a great singer is not only having a good technic, it's also transmitting the feelings, making believe that you mean any word you say... and in this aspect, most of "Power Metal" singers just fail, they all sing well, but they are way too "clean", they sing more or less the same stuff the same way, they are exchangable, you can put anyone of them into any other band, the result will be pretty much the same.
Chopureagle chopureagle I really like Kai Hansen and his band, Gamma Ray. It is evident that he has his own vocal style and it has strong power to attract people. But frankly speaking, it is difficult to say he is skillful and one of best vocal in power metal scene. It doesn't mean that his vocal is poor. Acutally his style is great and music is really fit with his syle, but when we say just about best vocal, it is difficult to say that he shall be included in that list even though his fan. Anyway I love Kai Hansen. Only thing that make me sad is now he is old, his vocal range is getting narrow, not like his former friend, Kiske.(unitl recen times, Kiske showed us great performance) Anyway his vocal and songwriting in gamma ray was awesome.(especially in Somewhere out in space and Powerplant)

Ae carai, vo dexa minha opinião tbm, Numero 1 Roy Khan (ex-Kamelot :( ), Vocal limpo sem Falsetes exagerados, ZP nem na lista num pode estar, Fabio lione é bom (melhor que o falaschi mas não para estar em primeiro, e o Geoff (não conheço) mas acho q pode estar melhor posicionado pelo pouco que ouvi.e o André "fodelão" Mattos na minha opinião é um dos melhores vocais do mundo.

Daniel Heiman and Fabio Lione should share 1st place on this list, imo. But its a good list, i like many of these singers. Fabio Lione and Rhapsody were one of the main reasons i got into power metal, back in 98 when Symphony of enchanted lands came out.
