Audi A5 Exhaust Upgrade - Audi A5 Coupe Project part 3

- Welcome to episode 3 of the Audi A5 project. Today we modify the exhaust to release some trapped noises. We deleted the catalytic converter (Cat) and also installed a stainless steel pipe to delete 1 resonator.
Now this is not a smooth install and it took us the entire day to do. If you want to do this yourself, then keep the following in mind:
- The bolts are hard to reach and may be rusted and therfore impossible to undo.
- When buying a cheaper downpipe, keep in mind that the fitment isnt as good as OEM, so adjustment is required.
- But most of all enjoy the process and let your car sound great!

Dankjewel! Ja dat is inderdaad een goede opmerking. Ik probeer dit vaak wel te doen. De onderdelen die hier gebruikt zijn komen van chargertech.

You put down pipe with out a racing catalyst?I mean you remove the factory one and you place another catalyst or not?
Yess, check my other video on the exhaust. There you will see how we solved that!
Where abouts are you jacking from? I don't want to stick a trolley jack on the pinch welds in case they get squashed...
At the audi there are 2 spots on either side that support the jack, it is not on the pinch so it will not get squashed.
hey i am considering getting an audi a5 2.0T just like yours the pre facelift model, but i heard that the pre Fl 2.0T have a big timing chain problem. Is that really such a big problem and is it expensive to maintain yearly?
It is really an awesome car! The 2.0 TFSI are strong engines and I never heard of timing chain problems. There is one other problem that was fixed by audi which is the oil consumption. AUDI changed the pistons later on, so make sure the one you check out has this done to it. Maintenance isnt that expensive, I had to change the waterpump at around 300 euros and some brakes and new tires but nothing crazy

@@slader8543 the tsfi and tsi engines do have timing issues related to the tensioner at around 80,000 to 100,000 miles
@@jtscustomsNL ik ben ook aan het kijken voor een audi a5 pre facelift en ik hoor iedereen over olieverbuik. Nu zie ik wel audis te koop staan die claimen dat ze de zuigermodificatie hebben gehad alleen is dat al 7-8 jaar geleden gebeurt is het dan niet zo dat ze nu al weer olie gaan verbruiken?
@@VinboGaming heyy, nee als de zuiger modificatie is gedaan zal het probleem wegblijven. Natuurlijk moet er verder wel goed onderhoud zijn gedaan. De aanpassing staat ook vaak in de boekjes of is bij audi na te vragen.
Hallo, ik ben verrast om audi a5 op video te zien. Ik ben de nieuwe eigenaar. heb je een herprogrammering van de motor gedaan, fase 1 of 2? heb je na de herprogrammering de complete RVS lijn geïnstalleerd? Met welk merk heb je het gedaan?
Wat gaaf! De auto was voor dat ik hem kocht al gechipt luid de dealer. Ik weet zelf niet van welk merk of aanbieder. Ik was na de upgrades wel van plan om een tune te doen maar dat is er helaas nooit van gekomen. Hoe bevalt de auto verder?

de kracht is hetzelfde als mijn oude tts. Ik denk dat de a5 240pk is?

How the hell did you get that fourth screw off of the turbo and don’t ask which one I am talking about, you absolutely know the bastard I’m referring to haha
Haha with a LOT of patience. We could move the ratched only a tiny bit at the time 😅 after the we replaced all the screws
How did you replace the 3 rusted bolts/studs @3:51?
A lot WD40 and as you can see patience and a grinder 😂 after that we just used some regular hardware that fitted. Nothing special.
Hey can you please tell me If you need a sealing between the flanges?
Hello, yess you do need a seal between the metal surfaces. Otherwise it will leak.
@@jtscustomsNL can you tell me where to get a seal like this? I don’t know what i have to order… are they genuine parts or are they specific for the 2.0 tfsi?
@@iBoyLPs there are a lot of differant ones. Try contact an audi dealer/ parts shop. They can and will help you find the right one.

Oh man I wish I had the money to do this.
This wasnt really that expensive, the total cost was around 250 euros.
@@jtscustomsNL Oh really? I though it would be at least 600 Euros.
But then again, in Norway it's illegal to modify the car like this, and there are many controls around vehicles so you might be able to get away with it for maximum 2 years before the next control, then you'd have to revert the entire process and put back the OEM exhaust, for a 1 hour control then again reinstall the aftermarket exhaust.
I have the exact same car as in the video; Or I'm picking it up in around 1-2 weeks actually. So not here yet, but soon to come. And I really want to install Milltek or Armytrix exhaust on it.
One thing I regret when buying it is the fact that it's FWD. One push on the accelerator now and the front tires spin and bang up and down. Can't wait to see if they explode when I add a stage 1 on it. 180hk > 260hk
Im trying to install a downpipe rn, how tf did u guys remove the bolt on the under/backside of the turbo?!
Magic🤣🤣 no just kidding, take a ratchet and a long extender. Feel where the bolt is and wrestle it on. It is a tight fit😬

Cool video, but using open end spanners on O2 sensors made me cringe. Get a good O2 sensor socket and your knuckels will be gratefull :)

Is this RHD and if so what’s the brand of the down pipe
My car is LHD, I dont really know the brand as it is from ebay. If you search for Audi 2.0 TFSI downpipe, you should find it.

I had to bend a LHD down pipe so that it fits my a5 it still rubs a bit on the steering column

@@jtscustomsNL I have the same exact car, mines a 2011 and I also just did water pump, also had to do timing chains. Love the video btw, the comic relief did it for me lol

You're installing a downpipe, but you haven't at least installed a cold air intake, intercooler or Stage 1 tune? GTFOH bro. 👉
