Misha, First of all great lap, thanks for that 🙏🏼 As a Stinger GT owner for almost 2 years now few quick explanations: - Sport+ has 87/13 RWD/FWD bias, comfort it’s 50/50, sport it’s I believe 70/30 - Stock brakes are shit, most people change them - Engine needs a small software tune and goes to 460-480HP and 700Nm without any hardware changes and hiccups - More passionate owners in Poland also do the gearbox software change which eliminates any lags in sport+ - Temperatures display is fake, it was boiling in reality, when I check temps in JB4 they are completely different Hopefully I can finally manage to bring mine to Nordschleife and give you a proper version for testing 😎
Loved it. I've watched several Nurburgring videos over the years and that includes a couple of Stinger laps. This one aces them all. Your "emotionless drive" was highly entertaining and impressed me. You're a cool cucumber at the wheel. I have driven a Stinger for the past six years. My Silky Silver GT1 is six years old yesterday. When it got rear-ended I thought it was dead and rushed over to the dealer and got a replacement that same day, a Micro Blue Premium. We kept it when the GT1 was repaired and it's my wife's car. A two-Stinger family I never expected to be. Driving my Stinger on the Ring is a bucket list item for sure. Will never happen. The Pond is in the way. :D What impressed me to get a KIA was the promotional book, especially the chapter on developing the Stinger at the Ring, that blew my mind. Add in a capacious hatch - practicality to the max - to sexy design and grand touring convenience and comfort, and of course performance - I love to pass fast - and the only thing remaining was what I call the "fatal test drive". Once I got behind the wheel I was down and bought the GT1 three days later. It is my favorite material thing, or rather they are, since I enjoy driving the 2.0L 90% of the time as much as the 3.3L. They both want to move, the 3.3L just wants to a little easier. Since getting the Stinger, my first and so far only brand new car ever, I enjoy driving and any excuse to do so. Errands are no longer annoying, they are an opportunity to drive my "third place", which includes a rolling sound room. I could go on ...
I was watching the proceed video and commented that it would be cool to see the stinger on a ring, and here it is! Im driving stock 3.3 GT as a daily drive and its lovely. The brakes are something that need an upgrade for sure, but all in all its a great car! And really affordable. Its the best time to buy a used one, most of them still has KIAs 7 year warranty! Crazy! So if someone hesitates - go ahead and buy one!
I drive an 07 IS350 for my daily, & always wanted to see it on the ring, one of the best cars for the $$$$. Love & hate the brakes, for how I can kiss the windshield when needing to brake hard they sure do like to squeal whenvI start driving. Went up against a Stinger, but it must of been the turbo 4cyl. Cool cars 4sure. MISHA, NURB AN IS350 PLEEES 😁
Finally! My motor! :D Sounds like you have the AWD and not RWD if you're talking about rear bias Love mine. It feels a LOT lighter than it actually is (close to 2 tons I think). Agree on the breaks that considering they're Brembos they're not amazing. Most people have replaced the Brembo pads and discs with aftermarket such as EBC as a minimum. I've got a peddlecommander on mine to improve the throttle response - even in Sport/Sport+ its a little laggy, at least my 2017 is. Sadly we don't get the AWD here in the UK as components for it messed with the right hand drive layout we have here and cost too much for such a small market, but RWD is fun. It really responds well to good tyres and will punish you with bad tyres. I just love the fact that it's fully loaded as standard and equivalent BMW 440i costs about 10-15K more for similar spec and it also gets way more attention.
Hey man, nice to see someone else with the gts in the UK, we are few and far between it seems. I have the facelift and I don't know if they changed the throttle and shift response for the facelift, but when in sport and sport+ for me, I was surprised how quick it was, especially as I came from a DSG gti, but big respect for fellow stinger owners
We own a white 2022 Stinger GT1 RWD. We love the car. We had at one time, 2006 Charger RT (430hp), 2015 Mustang GT (500hp), and AMG C63 S(500hp). The Stinger is 368hp and weighs 3800lb. Unofficially through my son, the Stinger nearly kept up with the Mustang and the AMG, with a top speed of 143-145mph. I've had cruise control set to 105 on my way to Vegas. It's a very comfortable, sporty, little daily driver. You can still get it as Genesis G70.
Awesome!!!.....long over due, this is an underdog in its category a very capable everyday sedan that you can have fun with at the track, and its reliable too! I've had mine since 2018 new and it now has 71k miles of nothing but fun.
i have a 22, the 2.5T version AWD. Ill never drive like this, but i love my car. I look back at when i park, like the other guys do. I get compliments everywhere I go.
I got mine in 2018 on a great deal. I've since added more "fun" vehicles including motorcycles, but don't think I will be letting the Stinger go. It's still stunning to look back (and drive as well). Like looking at beautiful sunset the sea with sailboats silhouetting against the sky 😂❤
I have stinger gt. It's got easy and quick power right away. Very versatile for daily driving. You can drive like a sedan or drive it like a sports car. I use 87 gas, and them twin turbo kicks in quickly when you need them. Very usable and practical and sporty at the same time.
The twin makes it so you have boost at around 1200 and a boost ready at 5000 rpm. They kind of work independently. A friend told me that's how it works, I thought that made sense since the car just pulls non stop. That transmission also does a lot of good work. Barely notice the shifts no matter how hard he pushes it.
Also, use that 91 gas once in a while. They have additives that will keep your motor running longer. Look up videos about it, you might get enlightened and want to spend a bit more on gas to keep your car going longer.
Have driven the 330s Australian (Turbo V6 and RWD) since their 2017 release. Very similar performance as the GT featured here except RWD only. You're absolutely correct about the brakes. The series 1 had TERRIBLE pads, and they improved with series 2, but are still low temp and suffer from fade after a couple of hard applications. Unfortunately with series 2 came a recalibration of the ESC and TRC which made them overly 'safe'. Series 1 was loose (possibly a little too loose), but it was better than the current settings. I wished they went for a series 3, with the drive mode selector able to reduce the intrusion of the ESC and TRC but not completely turning it off, and maybe some more power - 350kw would turn the stinger into a FUN-FUN car :)
I have a white GT1 RWD, the only thing I dislike about this car is the brakes. The factory gives you pads that don’t match the Brembo caliper specs. It vibrates and brake fades fast. The way to fix it is slotted rotors and softer pads and it handles and brakes like a DREAM.
It's a shame Kia didn't further the development of this platform, it had so much potential! All this other EV nonsense is getting tiring and pukable. I still remember when the Stinger came out, it had a similar impact to when the Nissan GT-R was unveiled in 2007. Obviously very different cars but nobody could believe that Kia would be capable of mass producing something like this. This car was a worthy successor to the GT-R if Kia had only made a high performance version of it.
I had one, one of the very first delivered in October 2017. It was a sensational car, copped an absolute pizzling…. track days, school run, it could do it all. Sadly, it was stolen and burnt out. Rest easy Ring Stinger. Good car.
Thanks for driving Stinger GT, I own one since FEB 2024 and I was thinking of going to Nürburgring or even give it to you for a drive since there wasn't GT 3.3 on the channel but now I don't have to :) (at least stock :P) Ps. In sport/sport+ mode it's 80% rear (that's what I read) and in comfort 60% rear but it can put 100% torque to the rear if the car thinks it's needed (or fuse is disabled). Definitely you can turn, hit the gas and it'll spin rear wheels giving easy to control drift :). I love it for a daily / family / fun car to drive. It's got everything I need and is superior price wise for what you get. Ps2. You didn't mention HUD which I love and it's hard to find addon in many, even premium cars :)
I have owned this car for 2 years. One of the biggest concerns is a stock-breaking system. Even though it's a Brembo, it's still not enough for the car, especially if you actively drive through the serpentine for several hours. The braking system overheats, and it stops reacting appropriately. But if you change the regular braking system, it becomes much more fan. Except for the cons above, the car has a lot of pros. It worth every dollar. The best version of the car you can find is RWD, which is a super fan. Thanks for the review.
I've got in a couple of bumps with the GT2 with my '08 G35 6MT and i was surprisingly impress by their performance, i could barely keep up w them by a hair plus i love the design of the car.
I have a 2021 Stinger GT and love it. It is truly sad that Kia has done basically 0 marketing for the car. That is why it's not selling. I added a cold air intake and MBRP exhaust which really wakes it up. I frequently have people checking out the car because they don't know what it is, 6 years after it launched. Shame on Kia PR.
I have a custom exhaust and most of my compliments are to the exhaust sound. I have GFB bov’s and HKS Sports Plugs. I want next in this order: Intakes Downpipe Tune Lowering springs Nice Rims And a wrap to top it off Maybe a color matched street wing. Some aftermarket Carbon hood replacement. My biggest challenge is dealing with the exhaust tips, I may have to cut them out and fabricate the fender to fit som fatty cans as my custom exhaust is dual instead of quad. Great car I love it. ‘18 RWD Black Exterior/Red Interior.
Pretty sure that one is a RWD. I think only North America got the AWD. I have two Stinger GT’s one stock and one with bolt ons and a custom tune (330 rwkw) and also DBA pads with DBA T3 rotors. They are amazing cars for the price had one since 2019 with no issues despite track days. Upgrading the brakes is a good idea especially if you want to track it for a bit of fun. No idea why these didn’t sell enough to continue.
I LOVE KIA CARS, I have a 2018 sportage and learned to love KIA cars....they are also reliable and drive nicely..... I would love to have a stinger....
Had my Stinger coming up to 4 years now in the UK. Hasn't missed a beat and I love it. Really underrated and the amount of conversations the car has started is crazy. Get a nice exhaust on it and it's perfect!
I have a MY22 as a daily driver. Just came back from a 1500km rosd trip through the ore mointains with my wife. For what it is, a GT, well, I love it. Perfectly comfy ventilated seats, enough space for two plus luggage, comfortable suspension, functional driving aids, Buttons (!!!) For all the important functions, great harmann kardon stereo and most importantly - it goes like stink. I, as a driver, dont do it justice. What i do not like: 1. The brakes. After prolonged use of the adaptive cruise control there is a lot of residue on the rotors which in the end results in slight vibration at the steering wheel. Solution is simple: drive like a man and brake like a man to clean the discs. Still going to get rid of the stock pads sooner or later. 2. After market rim options very limited due to 8 inch width in front axle. 3. It has a horrible drinking habit. 9l on 130/h autobahn runs with the wife, far in excess of 15l if you entertain its habit. My overall consumtion over 15000km is 12.5l. Would certainly buy it again.
All of you with the brakes issues, i switched to Power Stop pafs, front rotors are now dimple and slotted and i put steel braided brake lines. Issue is almost gone. When i have the money ill go with drilled rotors all 4 wheels.
Hey Misha, You could have send her much better that this video ..... I feel that you haven't pushed her enough. Love you mate 💙 Some day hope to get my car shipped all the from UAE - United Arab Emirates 🇦🇪 Dubai and do few laps with you in The Green Hell. Thanks for you videos, Nashmi Bin Muhammed
I dont think the stinger is too light. What was the tyre specs? What brand and type of tyre? It looked very very stable. Really didn't expect this. I was thinking more or less it kicking the rear end out? Doesn't seem this way and your breaking seemed decent too. Pretty surprised if im honest.
I bought a stinger GT2 a few months ago with some nice mods. So much car for the money and you can get 450-490whp with only bolt-ons and a piggyback. Mine also doesn't hit 90 degrees, it's slightly below. And regarding rear bias, at least the GT2 and the GTS has dynamic all-wheel drive and will try to send everything it can to the back wheels in sport mode if you floor it. I'm not sure about the regular GT-model. But yeah you can drift around and do powerslides and stuff no problem even though it's all-wheel drive.
@@ruturaj47 Mine is lowered but other than that nothing done suspension-wise, it still handles pretty well. I don't take it to the track though I just cruise around on the streets.
Beautiful car. I see so many cars today that have copied it's design features to the point that they can, at a glance, be mistaken for Stingers. And the Stinger design was first released at a NY motor show back in 2014.
I wanted that car, but read that it was only in RWD. The info I got was American. In Canada, I could have gotten AWD. Bad intel! Still, I love my 2022 Stinger AWD. Sometimes I think about modding it, but when I drive it, I realize that it is all I need, as stock..
I see these on the street and it is still such an amazing looking vehicle...it's not common and that's what I love about it. I would take a 5 year old Stinger over a 5 year old 3-Series or A4 if it was for the long term. It's such a sleeper and I'm all for it..
I'd actually like to see a G70, in particular of it has the eibach pro kit springs and sway bars. It's an awesome car. On a weird note, I'd love to see a GV70 fully loaded. I had one of those before my G70 and that SUV handles mountain roads waayyy better than you'd ever imagine.
Excelent drive and car, Mischa! Congrats! One thing I’ve realized is this car runs on low turbo boost. Maybe going up to 13psi when in overboost, but regularly running on the 10psi range. So, imagine this car running on 18 or even 20 psi that I believe it can stand originally! Then you should have those 450horses and much more performance with not much of a change! Again, thank you and cheers!
@@nathandonner2 damn my bad meant to actually just say 20. Im running JB4. I have good 93 and E85. Ran Map5 and in 3rd gear the target was 7.4psi over. But actually did hit 20.6psi. timing was good to go also
Would have liked to see you run a stinger with a mild tune. The turbos are nanny'd from factory hitting like max 12 psi for warranty im sure. Bump up to 18-20psi and its a big difference. Wonder what speeds would get on the straights then.
@@mattaboutenglish8217 bro its the same thing, google it. The only diffrence is in the way they operate … compound, sequential & parallel. Car Manufactures use Bi&Twin just as a fancy word to sell their cars.
Maybe it is nice to know. The Stinger ist nearly an RWD if you drive it on Sport +. I dont know the exact power distribution, but it is a lot on the rear. Somewhere over 90% in Sport +. I am really glad that you like the stinger, but maybe it would be nice if you would have tested it with the Bastuck Exhaust ;)
Wait until I will one day make it to the ring... I have all the updates the stinger never got from factory. From brakes to tireseize, power, sound and suspension. I would sure beg you to drive it ❤️
I had to let my Stinger go because someone damaged it badly when it was parked and would of taken too long to fix. But I will get another one one of these days. Loved that car.
beat one of these from a dig in my challenger scatpack. he shocked me at first hanging up with my car but after i hit 3rd gear i started really pulling away
The Stinger GT is such an underappreciated car. Even the power is good. the 360-odd bhp is more than enough to be absolutely rapid on the road without being OTT. It's a car I'm a big fan of it and would genuinely consider buying as and when a 4-Door becomes a thing I need.
I'm so sad that this wasn't a financial success for Kia. I think the world just wasn't ready. We car people know but unfortunately there isn't much of us out there. I'm sure they'll bring this car back someday and I hope they stay true to the luxury sports sedan roots.
I only have the 2.0t and it’s not fast, but it is a fun car to drive on the streets. Handles great, chassis is super balanced and as a daily driver, very practical.
@@KobeMpthers Better than the 2.0T obviously, but only offered after the facelift. I have a 2.0T as well and although it'd be fun to have the 3.3T, I don't drive that crazy and the 2.0T itself is still plenty of fun and comfortable. Kinda nitpicky, but I love the exterior design before they updated it with the generic light bar. For that alone, I'd say 2021 are the best to snag a GT-line (especially because 2022 GTs have been having issues).
the rear bias numbers don’t tell the whole story. the system is like on the BMW’s xdrive rear bias models, basically they take the RWD platform and add front shafts and connect them to the gearbox through a clutch pack, so the rear is permanently and directly connected unlike other systems like audi.
I have the same car! But i have the 2.2 Diesel with 200Hp and 440Nm of torque (on 1770 kilos) because in Italy powerful cars are overtaxed so they basically bury you with them if you buy a powerful car, so only wealthy people can enjoy them. The diesel one is identical to the V6 anyways overall, only the engine changes and obviously the calibration of everything that's related to it, plus nappa leather, Brembo breaks, different rims, and quadruple exhaust (the diesel has only 2, why? i don't know... they could've kept 4).
KIA allowed you to do 2 laps? They should honestly pay you at this point to do as much laps as you want with it. (not that you wouldn't have other options to spend you day on track with other awesome cars) 🎉😅

- Engine needs a small software tune and goes to 460-480HP and 700Nm without any hardware changes and hiccups
- More passionate owners in Poland also do the gearbox software change which eliminates any lags in sport+
- Temperatures display is fake, it was boiling in reality, when I check temps in JB4 they are completely different
Hopefully I can finally manage to bring mine to Nordschleife and give you a proper version for testing 😎
Hope you make it out there🏁🏁

What impressed me to get a KIA was the promotional book, especially the chapter on developing the Stinger at the Ring, that blew my mind.
My first ever new car too. Love it every time I drive it.
'22 AWD 3.3, Ascot Green.
7 years - WOW!
No thanks.

I got mine 2years ago 2019 gt1 . Now I’ve got k&n intakes, jb4, hks spark plugs. Day and night difference!
YASSSSSS THANK YOU!!!! Been waiting to see you drive the stinger for over a year
Finally! My motor! :D Sounds like you have the AWD and not RWD if you're talking about rear bias
Love mine.
Rwd this is the best that money can buy) light weight and better handling
Hey man, nice to see someone else with the gts in the UK, we are few and far between it seems. I have the facelift and I don't know if they changed the throttle and shift response for the facelift, but when in sport and sport+ for me, I was surprised how quick it was, especially as I came from a DSG gti, but big respect for fellow stinger owners
In Germany we only have the AWD version haha

We own a white 2022 Stinger GT1 RWD. We love the car. We had at one time, 2006 Charger RT (430hp), 2015 Mustang GT (500hp), and AMG C63 S(500hp). The Stinger is 368hp and weighs 3800lb. Unofficially through my son, the Stinger nearly kept up with the Mustang and the AMG, with a top speed of 143-145mph. I've had cruise control set to 105 on my way to Vegas. It's a very comfortable, sporty, little daily driver. You can still get it as Genesis G70.
I topped my 2022 G70 3.3T Sport Prestige at 163mph before I had to brake.
👍
😂❤I just realized that you uploaded more videos, thank you brother

Who's he's brother
Awesome!!!.....long over due, this is an underdog in its category a very capable everyday sedan that you can have fun with at the track, and its reliable too!
I've had mine since 2018 new and it now has 71k miles of nothing but fun.
i have a 22, the 2.5T version AWD. Ill never drive like this, but i love my car. I look back at when i park, like the other guys do. I get compliments everywhere I go.
What’s the 0-60 for your 2.5?
I got mine in 2018 on a great deal. I've since added more "fun" vehicles including motorcycles, but don't think I will be letting the Stinger go.
It's still stunning to look back (and drive as well). Like looking at beautiful sunset the sea with sailboats silhouetting against the sky 😂❤
I have stinger gt. It's got easy and quick power right away. Very versatile for daily driving. You can drive like a sedan or drive it like a sports car. I use 87 gas, and them twin turbo kicks in quickly when you need them. Very usable and practical and sporty at the same time.
Owners manual says minimum is 91 or above, I fill mine with 93 that’s all I can find near me btw
Great car!
@@BaconNationChannel did not know
Also, use that 91 gas once in a while. They have additives that will keep your motor running longer. Look up videos about it, you might get enlightened and want to spend a bit more on gas to keep your car going longer.
Hell yeah!
Thank you mate!! Finaly THE car i want to see:D
I’m still enjoying my 2018 GT1 AWD. Take it the track 4-6 times a year, the car is a blast to drive. Lap3 tune and running at 480 HP to the wheels.
Drove the car 4 years as my daily; impressive good! Especially on long distance Autobahn drives very comfortable and fast.
I have a white GT1 RWD, the only thing I dislike about this car is the brakes. The factory gives you pads that don’t match the Brembo caliper specs. It vibrates and brake fades fast. The way to fix it is slotted rotors and softer pads and it handles and brakes like a DREAM.
What brand of discs and pads are you running ?
If you are in US get csg cp pads.
@@ruturaj47 ok. Thank you.
Ya, I replaced my brake pads fairly quickly. Car would shake under medium braking after just a few thousand miles.

Ive been dying to see how the stinger does around nurburgring. Great video💪🏿🙏🏿
Good car.
RIP sorry to hear ;(
Helped my dad find a GT2 AWD Scorpion Stinger. It's an awesome do it all car.
Edit: yes, the AWD system is a rear-biased system.

Very nice driving. This video made me feel good about buying a Stinger.
Cars seems solid all around. Fun and efficiency.
Just got my 2023 gt2 last week aft wanting for years. I'm in love and lust!😈
I have a 2018 and still enjoy it! Great car and a steal for the price now adays.
I was waiting for this review from you on driving the Stinger🎉💯👌👍

What’s your 0-60 for your 2.5?
I have a 2021 Stinger GT and love it. It is truly sad that Kia has done basically 0 marketing for the car. That is why it's not selling.
I added a cold air intake and MBRP exhaust which really wakes it up.
I frequently have people checking out the car because they don't know what it is, 6 years after it launched. Shame on Kia PR.
I have a custom exhaust and most of my compliments are to the exhaust sound.
I have GFB bov’s and
HKS Sports Plugs.
I want next in this order:
Intakes
Downpipe
Tune
Lowering springs
Nice Rims
And a wrap to top it off
Maybe a color matched street wing.
Agree, not much marketing but maybe the reason for the lower cost initially. Awesome car.
Finally the Stinger!!
I LOVE KIA CARS, I have a 2018 sportage and learned to love KIA cars....they are also reliable and drive nicely..... I would love to have a stinger....
Man I was waiting for this video !!!
Had my Stinger coming up to 4 years now in the UK. Hasn't missed a beat and I love it. Really underrated and the amount of conversations the car has started is crazy. Get a nice exhaust on it and it's perfect!
A great car!
What i do not like:
As a 2022 GT1 owner, with the same color, thank you for showing me what my car is capable of, with a competent driver behind the wheel.
Thanks for showing us this experience. I own a gt1 and haven’t taken it to a track so it’s cool to see the performance at higher end.
All of you with the brakes issues, i switched to Power Stop pafs, front rotors are now dimple and slotted and i put steel braided brake lines. Issue is almost gone. When i have the money ill go with drilled rotors all 4 wheels.
I am impressed by that grey Suzuki Swift keeping up at high speed

I dont think the stinger is too light. What was the tyre specs? What brand and type of tyre? It looked very very stable. Really didn't expect this. I was thinking more or less it kicking the rear end out? Doesn't seem this way and your breaking seemed decent too. Pretty surprised if im honest.
you can see the Bmw M influence also in the handling of the car
9:00 The AWD Stingers are 20F/80R biased so they don't suffer much from understeer, they do also come in an only RWD version.
Amazing car love love love the stinger it does everything right performance is insane. Rear wheel drive is much faster on track by the way.
It really needs thicker sway and suspension tune before power mods.

You should drive the Genesis G70. Slightly smaller than the Stinger & few hundred pounds lighter. Same 3.3L twin turbo V6 engine.
unfortunally we only get the 2.0l turbo in europe.
That Swift towards the end of the lap was actually swift xD
Amazing car. A bigger brake kit and it’s a great daily plus track ride. Impressive how the temps stayed low up through Kesselchen!
Your driving skills are top notch👌🏻
Excelent drive and car, Mischa! Congrats!
One thing I’ve realized is this car runs on low turbo boost. Maybe going up to 13psi when in overboost, but regularly running on the 10psi range. So, imagine this car running on 18 or even 20 psi that I believe it can stand originally! Then you should have those 450horses and much more performance with not much of a change!
Again, thank you and cheers!
The tune I run on my stinger peaks at 18 psi and it makes a big difference, especially above 4k rpms. Excellent observation

@misha in sport mode 80/20 split rear bias!
the rear bias numbers don’t tell the whole story. the system is like on the BMW’s xdrive rear bias models, basically they take the RWD platform and add front shafts and connect them to the gearbox through a clutch pack, so the rear is permanently and directly connected unlike other systems like audi.
Thanks Misha - As a stinger owner is was fun to watch!
"Wow, you can read the brochure" haha good reference from Tokyo Drift. Regardless, great video Misha!
Most underrated car.
Why? Lol
Beautiful underrated car.
