Let me clarify because I think people are confused. This is an excellent tool, not arguing that. For battery powered it's extremely fast. If you need a battery farming nail, 100% get this. For me the extra 3.5lbs of weight isn't worth it, I have a bad shoulder and the extra weight and kick back aren't good for me. But that's no hate for this tool. It's Milwaukee so you know it's good!
I just bought one yesterday, took it to my shed and wouldnt sink a 3 1/4 inch nail . It penetrayed maybe 1.5 inches. Kick back was crazy. Hooked up my air gun and it sunk no problem.
This may seem obvious but you did know it has a rotatable tip near where the nail is fired from that makes it seat nails deeper/shallower, right? I have ran probably 100,000 nails through mine and have never had it not sink 3 1/4 inch nail about a mm into the wood with the seating adjustment only about 50%. When I took mine out of the box, the depth tip was rotated to the shallowest setting probably from vibrations in shipping. At the shallowest depth setting it wouldn't sink a 3 1/4 nail, but using the deepest setting, you can sometimes actually shoot a nail *through* a single 2x4. With the power mine has, something was either wrong with yours or your depth knob was set too shallow. This thing *always* sinks anything I run through it at 50% depth setting or higher. After 100,000 or so nails, I have never had it not sink a 3 1/4 inch nail. Usually use DeWalt, Paslode, or Griprite nails.
I appreciate the review as I’m trying to decide if it is worth it for the little I would use it here and there. I like that in the con section of the video the pneumatic can’t be used because of the compressor. Obviously a compressor and hoses are an added cost which is definitely more than the $140 for the Milwaukee. That said you talked me into the Milwaukee 😂
Thanks for your brief, accurate and honest review. Funny the gun started at 12lbs but "over time" the weight got heavier! Production framers in my area won't use it because of the weight, fatigue does set in. I do love the gun, I'm hard core Milwaukee tooler, but it's just too heavy for me personally. I can hear the guys at work "oh little girl can't hold the gun!" lol
Great video. I am not a carpenter, but I need a framing nailer occasionally around the homestead. My brother in law really want a cordless for climbing around on framing and not dealing with hoses. I think I would get much more bang for my buck with an m18 cordless compressor for the amount of nailing I need to do at a time.
Solid point about the weight. I am a service tech now and rarely need a nailgun all day. So for the odd door that needs to be hung and cased or the small fence or deck repairs I find cordless indispensable. If I were in a position that required continuous production like a framing crew or a trim crew pneumatic is always the way.
Weight is subjective. Using a pneumatic nailer on rafters is WAY heavier than the milwaukee because you are also having to support the weight of the air hose, couplers, etc, and there is nothing more infuritating than not being able to do that last rafter nail because the air hose is about a foot too short. Even with a belt air hose holder, you're still supporting the weight with some part of your body and God forbid the hose gets hung. I'd pick the Milwaukee for framing work any day of the week. Especially with the rafter hook design. Run about 100,000 nails through mine with no issues yet.
We use ours as an odd job when framing. Headers, cripples. One guy has the air one, and the milwaukee fills in the holes also in the manbox, putting fascia on. Excellent tool but it gets heavy. It basically is replacing our screws we used to use when building at a much faster rate
Truthfully cordless framing nailers were only meant for setting trusses and small framing projects. It may be best to get a cordless compressor and you have more options.
Who’s what a moaner.yes maybe a little heavy but the quality of this tool is excellent. Had mine for a year now .using it constantly. Never had an issue. This goes with the same for the impact drill. Skil saw and the list goes on. It takes about 30 seconds to change the battery over so what are you complaining about. Come on let’s be honest who wants to drag a compressor around all day.

"... and doesn't shoot as fast", and does require expensive (>$200 if it's not under warranty anymore) servicing every 20-25k shoot.

Cordless tools are the future too much fuss with carrying around compressors etc. Everyone uses electricity these days
