- The Milwaukee m18 battery powered framing nail gun is finally HERE. What felt like forever...because it was... and no I am not talking about the time since the last Toolsday, the wait for the Milwaukee framing nail gun is finally over. How will it compare or hold up over time compared to it's competition? No one knows yet, but one thing is for sure, it feels good throwing two clips of nails in at one.
Let me know down below in the comments if you will be buying this nailer or if you have been waiting since last years announcement to own this nail gun!
Buy it here at ACME Tools...good people, good store...affiliate link, so it helps me a little as well.

I bought this nail gun as we were planning to renew all the fencing in our back garden. As this involved 19 double slatted fence panels, 10 of which needed to be cut down in size, we knew there would be a need for a great ruclips.net/user/postUgkxHQsUrwNr5GQrnx9V4xDdUr56qxwuiBHt deal of re-stapling the wooden slats to the wooden framework. Each alteration required the re-stapling of 62 wooden slats with double staples. Prior to starting the work we ordered sufficient additional staples as per the instructions with the gun.The gun performed fantastically throughout the entire project with no jams of misfires. The adjustable power was excellent allowing the staples to be fired into the 8mm slats to the correct depth. For the price paid this was a bargain and it proved itself to be so reliable and versatile making an arduous task much quicker and professional. I cannot recommend this product highly enough and it will be used on many other projects in the future.
It’s actually a very well written and comprehensive book ruclips.net/user/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 . I wanted to pair this with an updated book on local codes to start planning a post-retirement dream shop. I think I have just about everything I need between the two. The extra plans available for purchase towards the end are priced almost as much as full home plans, not little sheds however.

Wow a tool review without an annoying screaming host AND with a legitimate review. Refreshing! Subscribed!!!
Anyone knows of other interesting channels like this? Cannot stand VCG anymore, always screaming, always clickbait titles and barely any information outside of what the manufacturer says...
I agree with you on VCG. Check out the Perkin Brothers Channel, good stuff there also!

I think Milwaukee is very smart by being a little late to the party. They simply see what other brands are missing and simply add them onto their tool.
Agree
Makita waiting 7+ years to really capitalize
@@RRBuildingsfunny 3 years later just got the new generation 2 days ago
It's amazing how far battery power tools have come. I haven't bought a corded tool in like 5 years. I've been waiting on a cordless/gasless nailer for a while now. Definitely going to pick up one of these soon.
It's Back!! And we are kicking off a new Toolsday with the Milwaukee Cordless Framer!! Let me know your thoughts below!
Heck yeah, toolsday!
Hey Kyle thanks for the review! Looks like a sweet nailer. I’d be interested to see you shoot that same piece of oak with the 21 degree nailer when it comes out with 3-1/2” ringshanks that are a little thicker than those paslode nails. I’m just wondering if that was a power issue or that those passloads bend to easily absorbing some of the force. It would also be cool if you could confirm that we can change the 30 degree over to 21. Cause if it’s able to, I’ll order the 30 now and just pick up the 21 extension when it becomes available. I’m sure many others would do the same. Thanks again for your reviews, I always look for your opinion on a major tool purchase before I take the plunge. This one looks like a winner.
@@bmwestmoreland I am told it does and milwaukee is putting me on the list to get one and show it
RR Buildings thanks for replying Kyle! That’s awesome!
I have been informed again that it won't work
So awesome Kyle . I have my 21 degree on order . Get it next month 👏🏻 like you I’ve been waiting a long time . Can’t wait bro 👊🏻
@3:58, "hose attached to it, always pullin" made me chuckle. Yes it's sophomoric, but it sill made me chuckle.
Just found your channel and didn’t get any work done today thanks to you! I’m a weekend warrior and love this stuff!!
Keep them coming!
Haha sorry
Hey Kyle, Just bought the Milwaukee framing nailer. I've been needing one, but just couldn't justify the cash outlay. Finally got a project where it would be a huge benefit, and decided to 'buy once, cry once' Thanks for your videos! always good content, and I always try to learn something from them! Keep up the good work!
“As you can see” black plastic tip in front of a black shirt, lol thanks for the video! Can’t wait to see more videos of the latest project
Freakin' "Hickok .45" with the nail gun!! 🤣
this nail gun was released in Australia the same week i watched this video. Bought one the next day. Thank you.
Great videos man
I enjoy watching them.. keep going!!
I like the tip guard. Good for when I'm doing fencing, pergolas etc. I don't do enough of it to justify a dedicated siding gun. But when I do get into that stuff occasionally, I'm usually working with soft cedar and the claws leave some pretty nasty marks. Bostich makes those for their air guns and I keep a few around just for that kind of work.
As pneumatic technician myself, you forgot to mention that the Milwaukee framing nailer is a nitrogen fill to where as the Hitachi is psi air fill. They are both amazing guns! Definitely recommend both!
I've been using my M18 15 GA finish nailer to do some framing, not a wall but like knee walls. I can't wait to get this tool!
Just FYI, you can adapt the 21 degree magazine to the 30 degree nailer. It takes a just little filing on the 21 degree magazine, but once you’ve done that it’s easy to switch back and forth to use different nails. The screw holes line up perfectly. I think there are videos on how to do it. I used my Dremel and it took about 15 minutes. A question: have you tried to use the Milwaukee framing nailer on joist hangers?
I just ordered one from acme thx for the video I have all Milwaukee tools and was shocked that they didn’t have a framing gun a few months ago when I needed one
I have the 21° and I love it, used it to build a covered porch and a rather large deck a few weeks ago and it handled itself pretty well I feel like.
this is my first time watching your channel and i really enjoyed it your tool reviews are very thorough
Ive watch this video at least 4 times. Im definitely lusting over this tool. Great production quality as well. Its like im watching my fav movie.
Awesome review and if you're wondering the 18 gauge nailer is a really good gun I have been using it since it came out no complaints other than that tips like to off so I keep then in a pill bottle
Good job, thanks for sharing. I'll put it on my wish list/Christmas/Birthday/or just for the hell of it list lol.
It was the 18ga Gen ll, very nice.
Thanks for the demo.
Cant wait until I get mine.
Give us a follow up after you put it through the courses.
👍
Never watched a tool review, not even sure how this came up in my feed but I want one now lol. Great review!!
I must say your Camera is incredible. Great video quality and sound. It is really good to see someone whom puts serious effort in their video production. You deserve many more subs👍
Thank you
Im definitely getting one. Have the second gen finish nailer and its great for all the qtr round after installing flooring. Love Milwaukee!
Framing nailer- check
21" mower- crickets...
Try installing soffits. No beuno. Dewalt is far superior
Good Job Kyle, I tried the HITACHI here HIKOKI and its amazing tool. i just hope this milwaukee is just as good. Thanks
In 1988 I owned two Paslode electric nail guns. back then you had to buy batteries so they quickly went out of fashion but while they worked they really worked.
You know this blokes humble when he's doing well for himself and he's excited over tools. Keep it up, been following for some time and loving every episode.
I’m the same way, the tools made him his wealth, same road I’m on and I love tool shopping because they always pay for themselves
I find a lot of this guy's info really helpful along with a few others but when it comes to carpentry work I put this guy up there with some of the best. He is extremely good at what he does and when someone is as good as he is you can make any tool look good that's why you have to listen to what he says because you can have the best tools in the world if you don't know how to use them it's not going to make your work come out any better
Appreciate that.
Never fails out of nails hahahaha twice today! And I was thinking the same, maybe to make it a 21° in 3 screws would be clutch! Used mine all day today and loved it. The weight is something to get used to but definitely worth ever penny! Keep up the great work! I'm a big fan!
Got my ISO tunes pro in the clearance bin at Lee Valley, so lucky.
Great vid Kyle. When I get mine I will do a review also!
We got ours about 4 days ago. Itll burry 3 1/2s into 2 ply lvls allll day as fast as itll go! Things insaneee, thoroughly impressed with it. Havent used the air nailer since lmfao
Sold my dewalt and bought this right away. First one from our local store
Wow first time i seen you mate, i have to say your the first honest demo guy i have seen straigh up and honest :) good man
Hey buddy just wanted to lyk I used your code and selected you after my check out! Got a pair of those ear pods, lost my apple ones so I went with these. Great review thanks. Going to help my dad frame his house in the mountains, may have to pick up this framer too! Already running lots of Milwaukee tools. Thanks 🙏🏼
Just bought one yesterday....looking forward to using it.
honestly I like that there isnt a big kick like you get from a pneumatic air compressor. I hate trying to toe nail a piece in and the kick causes the stud to move excessively. I like the single trigger bit, lately Ive been getting a lot of double feeds, heck even nailed my finger to the joist today when a stray double feed took a right turn after shinging off the first nail head and went 8 inches to get my finger
It's always out of nails or gas when you need it and a cord will always tangle catch except when you fall and it could save you.
Great review! I'm a Milwaukee guy, so placing my order today. Thanks!
Good effort from Milwaukee once again. But until they equip it for 4” it would be nothing but a novelty gun for me. 98 mm is code in Denmark, I believe. Guess I’ll be dragging around that hose for some time yet. Thanks for the video.
It never fails I'm out of nails LOL.
I guess you have to learn to count your shots ;)
It looks like a winner.
I very seldom use a framing nailer so I'm still on the pneumatic Hitachi.
Cheers from Tokyo!
Excellent review as always, mine will be in two days
Finally this is great to see being a framer myself. I have found when I take my magazine off on my pneumatic that I have to throw some blue loctite back on to the Bolts due to constant vibration from heavy use
Real framer, we are a dying breed the loctite statement shows me you're one of a rare few.
Would get Milwaukee, but already have the Hitachi. They seemed to fix all the issues. Still like my Hitachi since it came put first and has be flawless. Not a framer so assume it might be broken already with daily abuse.
21 degree full rounds are my preferred and if you can swap to that thats pretty sweet.
Not sure Im ready to retire my Hitachi air gun, but this looks solid. Im wondering about performance in nailing LVL material which is probably harder than oak in most cases.
Dude love the channel I remember when this video was new but bro please keep going and showing us sir ty you guys r awesome that means Greg too lol love that guy
How durable does it feel? I just dropped my hitachi 8ft today for the first time in 18 months lol. Seems fine for now at least
Best gun I have ever used I bought a second one and shelved my air operated ones
Do enjoy the tool sessions. Neat stuff.
Will that extended high capacity magazine be legal in CA?
No. A California compliant magazine will be offered in non-free states. You will be required to apply for purchase, register the gun and fill out special paperwork to purchase nails. God I hope it doesn't get this bad.
Yes but does it take glock mags? 😂🤣
Nope, and he won't be able to use it in the United Socialists Republic of Chicago either. Good thing he isn't in Chicago!
10 nails is plenty, any more than that is excessive.
@@Everythingisgoingtobealright it ludicrous... no one needs even 10 shots! our forefathers got along fine with single shot manual operated nailers
Just bought one. Can't wait to shoot with it. Technology worth adopting. Thanks RR
Great demo, man!
i was doing blue tarps for fema
in frorida after ian hurricane. The boss gave each crew one of this to keep. I love it.
those RR hats with the black are mighty fine lookin there Kyle! I have the older white one. I might have to get me a black one now! 🇺🇸👌🏼
Thanks brother.
Your like the willie wonka of tools. You got all the cool stuff. Nice gun. I got the paslode recently. It’s ok and gets the job done.
That is the best Nailer Had a Dewalt and Retired it when I got the Milwaukee
That led light though what a terrific functional and sleek looking tool
You already have a good nail gun Kyle. The Hikoki nailer. But I guess we are all mostly tool lovers in the trade. I'm a collector myself :)
I think Milwaukee killed it with the new line of nailers and staplers
I think its amazing id love to have one one day
Love your videos , I've learned much from them ...can't afford Martinez tools , but they do make an awesome hammer
I don't mind the Dewalt. Just make sure you use the Flexvolt batteries & it's good for stick framing. It doesn't do well with laminates like LVL Microlams just can't sink the heads.. I've been using the Hitachi and that works pretty good. Thank you for the new Milwaukee review!
Been waiting for this cideo
The beam clip is for that thick bamboo used for lattice structures in Japan
I’m loving my m18 18g Brad nailer. Only thing I don’t like is the push/hold buttons and their location. I think they should be switches right by the trigger so you can do them with 1 hand quickly.
It's your new favorite. We already know. How could it not be?
I use hitachi air nailers most the time. I used a Milwaukee like that on a smaller job tho and it was great for that no hose n such I just like my air nailers for big jobs don't have to worry about changing Batteries n such but like those smaller framing jobs it's really awesome
Milwaukee is definitely ahead of the game in battery powered nail guns. If they made a roofing nailer I bet it’d be a beast. I still stick to pneumatic though, more reliable and consistent
Im a heavy dewalt user....and really really want this nailer 🤤
Can't wait to see how reliable it is in low temps.
Me too
If anything, the batteries will be the problem like any other cordless tool... Lithium don't like the cold.
Also in high temps
@@evictioncarpentry2628 BS, Lithium works well in cold weather but you can't recharge before battery is warm enough.
@@mr.wizeguy8995 not true
I'm no Kyle, but I haven't had problems toe nailing with DeWalt. Maybe not as good, but for the last 5 years I didn't have hand drive nails or go get a hose, which Milwaukee users can't say. And it still works good
I have been looking into getting a cordless framing nailer for some time, and I think I finally found the perfect one! Just placed an order using your link, thanks for the helpful video!
Let me guess you didn’t like it see I love Milwaukee but it’s 10.5 pounds without battery or nail just imagine 3 pound battery and an extended mag that’s a lot of weight vs mitabo it’s 9 pounds with battery and nails
@@pedrodperete I love it. It is definitely heavier than average, but you get used to it after awhile. I don't really even notice the weight anymore. It's power more than makes up for it too.
@@benjamincarpenter4376 this is true. I remember using the 5xc batteries and felt heavy at first. Then the 12hd. Now they all feel like 4xc batteries
thank you for showing it side by side with the other “good” one available, I bought a bunch of “metabo” tools to match batteries with my nailers i bought, was VERY disappointed with the metabo tools coming from “makita”… the nailers are top notch…. was thinking about selling my makita/metabo stuff and getting all one kind so I just have one brand of battery to mess with. Thank you, very helpful video for me :-)
Dewalt Type 3 is the bomb, has the motor from the concrete nailer in it and way lighter... worth a test, I love mine
Dewalt #1 atm easy
Buy it here at ACME Tools...good people, good store...affiliate link, so it helps me a little as well.

I just ordered it from those guys at ACME because Home Depot was sold out online and in the store. Their $10 new order discount did not work, but their $20 dadsday20 discount did work. No tax was added and shipping was free.
Is it available as a bare tool?
@@truethinker68 I thought it was at HD (when they get it back in stock), but not sure about ACME.
Not sure about Milwaukee cordless nailers. I have read bad reviews about all of them I have looked at.
I’ve been wanting to get a battery framing nailer but I’m not sure if it will last long enough for a whole days work. How is it when nailing off sheathing or something like that?
Have it a month now good tool great for pick up work
also.... I have all the Milwaukee battery trim nails for a few years now..... EXCELLENT tools, superior! as are their impacts and drills. Steel balls in those impacts.
Thank you for taking the time to do this. Much appreciated. I'm looking to purchase battery operated nail guns for our pallet operations. We use pneumatic coil guns for attaching boards on the pallets and general repairs, but we have a need for a battery operated gun to do small quick repairs or loose board reattachments. We use coil nails 1 3/4 x .080 to .090. I could certainly purchase sticks of nails and use a different size for this purpose only. What is the smallest nail this will take? Do they make a battery operated coil gun that will shoot non roofing nails? Something closer to 1 3/4 x .080?
Makita needs to make cordless nail gun.
Makita the lil bro compared to these
It looked like the 3.5" nails were Paslode. We use Hitachi mailers and were on a big job using LVL and we could not use Paslode nails. They did the exact same thing in the LVL as your nails did into the oak. We switched to a generic nail and the issues were gone.
Im hoping Dewalt will get on board and do an update on their Framer because its been around a while a bit outdated but the thing I find about Dewalt is they put more time into researche in in tools before release.
Now you'll only run out of nails when its a key piece and your in an awkward postion
MAKITA! Where ya at!? Anyone have any experience with battery adapters? Because if they work well, I’m probably just going for either metabo or Milwaukee and stick with my Makita rig.
Ebay. They work well
Could you do a video on how to properly maintain this nailer? I can’t find the info anywhere and I know you’re in with the Milwaukee reps
Great review on the nailer 👍👍
I'm still waiting for my 23 gage millwakee cordless pin gun . much needed! Please make one.
Good on Milwaukee. I don't know why people have a hate on for the dewalt framer. I have 3 and they get used hard daily, driving 3" rings, strapping roofs before metal. They have performed great.
I collect dewalt power tools but what makes me wanna get this milwaukiee is the nail extension
Woo hoo toolsday is back!!!
Just ordered one. Great video!!!
I’ve had bad experience with M 18 batteries, I’ve stuck with Makita for the most part on my cordless stuff, they have seriously dropped the ball on releasing cordless nail guns so I’ve recently picked up a framer and a couple finishers in M 18 cordless, hopefully I have better luck this go around. One thing is for certain Makita batteries are certainly more reliable across-the-board than all other manufacturers. I’m excited to see how this cordless set works and hopefully ditch some of the air compressor usage.
Nice demo. Thanks!
Vcgconstruction also did a video on this nailer also man love your video as well very informative bro
I honestly never had a problem with the dewalt but yeah the Milwaukee is definitely better as it should be it's a brand new model!
Just ordered mine 👍
