I bought this nail gun as we were planning to renew all the fencing in our back garden. As this involved 19 double slatted fence panels, 10 of which needed to be cut down in size, we knew there would be a need for a great ruclips.net/user/postUgkxHQsUrwNr5GQrnx9V4xDdUr56qxwuiBHt deal of re-stapling the wooden slats to the wooden framework. Each alteration required the re-stapling of 62 wooden slats with double staples. Prior to starting the work we ordered sufficient additional staples as per the instructions with the gun.The gun performed fantastically throughout the entire project with no jams of misfires. The adjustable power was excellent allowing the staples to be fired into the 8mm slats to the correct depth. For the price paid this was a bargain and it proved itself to be so reliable and versatile making an arduous task much quicker and professional. I cannot recommend this product highly enough and it will be used on many other projects in the future.
It’s actually a very well written and comprehensive book ruclips.net/user/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 . I wanted to pair this with an updated book on local codes to start planning a post-retirement dream shop. I think I have just about everything I need between the two. The extra plans available for purchase towards the end are priced almost as much as full home plans, not little sheds however.

I think Milwaukee is very smart by being a little late to the party. They simply see what other brands are missing and simply add them onto their tool.
Hey Kyle thanks for the review! Looks like a sweet nailer. I’d be interested to see you shoot that same piece of oak with the 21 degree nailer when it comes out with 3-1/2” ringshanks that are a little thicker than those paslode nails. I’m just wondering if that was a power issue or that those passloads bend to easily absorbing some of the force. It would also be cool if you could confirm that we can change the 30 degree over to 21. Cause if it’s able to, I’ll order the 30 now and just pick up the 21 extension when it becomes available. I’m sure many others would do the same. Thanks again for your reviews, I always look for your opinion on a major tool purchase before I take the plunge. This one looks like a winner.
It's amazing how far battery power tools have come. I haven't bought a corded tool in like 5 years. I've been waiting on a cordless/gasless nailer for a while now. Definitely going to pick up one of these soon.
As pneumatic technician myself, you forgot to mention that the Milwaukee framing nailer is a nitrogen fill to where as the Hitachi is psi air fill. They are both amazing guns! Definitely recommend both!
I must say your Camera is incredible. Great video quality and sound. It is really good to see someone whom puts serious effort in their video production. You deserve many more subs👍
Just FYI, you can adapt the 21 degree magazine to the 30 degree nailer. It takes a just little filing on the 21 degree magazine, but once you’ve done that it’s easy to switch back and forth to use different nails. The screw holes line up perfectly. I think there are videos on how to do it. I used my Dremel and it took about 15 minutes. A question: have you tried to use the Milwaukee framing nailer on joist hangers?
I find a lot of this guy's info really helpful along with a few others but when it comes to carpentry work I put this guy up there with some of the best. He is extremely good at what he does and when someone is as good as he is you can make any tool look good that's why you have to listen to what he says because you can have the best tools in the world if you don't know how to use them it's not going to make your work come out any better
No. A California compliant magazine will be offered in non-free states. You will be required to apply for purchase, register the gun and fill out special paperwork to purchase nails. God I hope it doesn't get this bad.
Hey Kyle, Just bought the Milwaukee framing nailer. I've been needing one, but just couldn't justify the cash outlay. Finally got a project where it would be a huge benefit, and decided to 'buy once, cry once' Thanks for your videos! always good content, and I always try to learn something from them! Keep up the good work!
I’ve used the Milwaukee fence stapler for two years which is based on the same technology/design and it’s amazing, it shoots staples into the toughest old hard as concrete black locust posts like butter. Im definitely buying this framer cause I know it will be badass.
In 1988 I owned two Paslode electric nail guns. back then you had to buy batteries so they quickly went out of fashion but while they worked they really worked.
Good on Milwaukee. I don't know why people have a hate on for the dewalt framer. I have 3 and they get used hard daily, driving 3" rings, strapping roofs before metal. They have performed great.
I just ordered it from those guys at ACME because Home Depot was sold out online and in the store. Their $10 new order discount did not work, but their $20 dadsday20 discount did work. No tax was added and shipping was free.
I'm no Kyle, but I haven't had problems toe nailing with DeWalt. Maybe not as good, but for the last 5 years I didn't have hand drive nails or go get a hose, which Milwaukee users can't say. And it still works good
honestly I like that there isnt a big kick like you get from a pneumatic air compressor. I hate trying to toe nail a piece in and the kick causes the stud to move excessively. I like the single trigger bit, lately Ive been getting a lot of double feeds, heck even nailed my finger to the joist today when a stray double feed took a right turn after shinging off the first nail head and went 8 inches to get my finger
I use hitachi air nailers most the time. I used a Milwaukee like that on a smaller job tho and it was great for that no hose n such I just like my air nailers for big jobs don't have to worry about changing Batteries n such but like those smaller framing jobs it's really awesome
Dewalt miss fires until you secure the head of the gun to the hardened end. As for Milwaukee it works for about three weeks in the rust belt because it looses its punch and doesn’t sink nails. Tried resetting firing pin with no change
I just ordered one from acme thx for the video I have all Milwaukee tools and was shocked that they didn’t have a framing gun a few months ago when I needed one
I don't mind the Dewalt. Just make sure you use the Flexvolt batteries & it's good for stick framing. It doesn't do well with laminates like LVL Microlams just can't sink the heads.. I've been using the Hitachi and that works pretty good. Thank you for the new Milwaukee review!
Milwaukee is definitely ahead of the game in battery powered nail guns. If they made a roofing nailer I bet it’d be a beast. I still stick to pneumatic though, more reliable and consistent
We got ours about 4 days ago. Itll burry 3 1/2s into 2 ply lvls allll day as fast as itll go! Things insaneee, thoroughly impressed with it. Havent used the air nailer since lmfao
Weight isn't really much of an issue if you're using hoses. My Senco and 2 old heavy assed metal Porter Cable framers weigh a ton and the hose dragging makes it even worse. Now that this has been out a year it's time to buy one. At 53 humping up a 28 foot ladder with a hose dragging is knocking me on my rear lately.
Good effort from Milwaukee once again. But until they equip it for 4” it would be nothing but a novelty gun for me. 98 mm is code in Denmark, I believe. Guess I’ll be dragging around that hose for some time yet. Thanks for the video.
I’ve been wanting to get a battery framing nailer but I’m not sure if it will last long enough for a whole days work. How is it when nailing off sheathing or something like that?
It looked like the 3.5" nails were Paslode. We use Hitachi mailers and were on a big job using LVL and we could not use Paslode nails. They did the exact same thing in the LVL as your nails did into the oak. We switched to a generic nail and the issues were gone.

Very good video, I've tried my milwaukee with 90mm nails can't fire into hard wood same as the video, but my paslode can do. I think maybe it needs some distance to accelerate the nails to fire into the hardwood.
Would get Milwaukee, but already have the Hitachi. They seemed to fix all the issues. Still like my Hitachi since it came put first and has be flawless. Not a framer so assume it might be broken already with daily abuse.
I’m loving my m18 18g Brad nailer. Only thing I don’t like is the push/hold buttons and their location. I think they should be switches right by the trigger so you can do them with 1 hand quickly.
I have the Dewalt and don't understand the hatred for it. I've not had it jamb and it drivers nails just fine. I have 2 Paslode pneumatics and even those can have have issues depending on the wood you're dealing with.
At NPS they said it would have the same 5 year warranty as all there tools. Now with a year delay and only a 3 year warranty I'm kinda wandering if there having problems with them and if its going to be like there first gen trim guns that sucked. also.... I have all the Milwaukee battery trim nails for a few years now..... EXCELLENT tools, superior! as are their impacts and drills. Steel balls in those impacts.
Finally this is great to see being a framer myself. I have found when I take my magazine off on my pneumatic that I have to throw some blue loctite back on to the Bolts due to constant vibration from heavy use
I like the tip guard. Good for when I'm doing fencing, pergolas etc. I don't do enough of it to justify a dedicated siding gun. But when I do get into that stuff occasionally, I'm usually working with soft cedar and the claws leave some pretty nasty marks. Bostich makes those for their air guns and I keep a few around just for that kind of work.
Your and your team the best keep up a good job ...but we having see any more video for your own bathroom we know your a busy man ..me and my family we wish the best
Awesome review and if you're wondering the 18 gauge nailer is a really good gun I have been using it since it came out no complaints other than that tips like to off so I keep then in a pill bottle
Thank you for taking the time to do this. Much appreciated. I'm looking to purchase battery operated nail guns for our pallet operations. We use pneumatic coil guns for attaching boards on the pallets and general repairs, but we have a need for a battery operated gun to do small quick repairs or loose board reattachments. We use coil nails 1 3/4 x .080 to .090. I could certainly purchase sticks of nails and use a different size for this purpose only. What is the smallest nail this will take? Do they make a battery operated coil gun that will shoot non roofing nails? Something closer to 1 3/4 x .080?
ideas: one on battery systems, best brand to build your set around. those are two things that my lack of knowledge prevent me from making a decision, one on ladders, you can even rant against them.

Real framer, we are a dying breed the loctite statement shows me you're one of a rare few.
I just bought the Paslode XP, personally I don't like it. I'm switching over to the Milwaukee M18 framing nail gun. Thanks for the review!
Got my ISO tunes pro in the clearance bin at Lee Valley, so lucky.
Wow prince harry as picked up an American accent already. Great video
Can the shed be assembled so that the window is on either side? I would want the window on the opposite side as shown.
That's a very fancy stapler
Thank you for taking the time to do this. Much appreciated. I'm looking to purchase battery operated nail guns for our pallet operations. We use pneumatic coil guns for attaching boards on the pallets and general repairs, but we have a need for a battery operated gun to do small quick repairs or loose board reattachments. We use coil nails 1 3/4 x .080 to .090. I could certainly purchase sticks of nails and use a different size for this purpose only. What is the smallest nail this will take? Do they make a battery operated coil gun that will shoot non roofing nails? Something closer to 1 3/4 x .080?
ideas:
one on battery systems, best brand to build your set around. those are two things that my lack of knowledge prevent me from making a decision,
one on ladders, you can even rant against them.
Buy the ones that are built for the EU market. The law over there says it doesn't matter what colour the tool or battery is they WILL work together.
