People complain about pricing because they’re tired of the “packaging” way of having to order vehicles. We all know they’ll just keep increasing overall costs because they’re making money hand over fist, but the way we have to spec vehicles out now is annoying. It should be more of a single option style like it used to be. Say someone wants the power tow mirrors but doesn’t care about LED headlights or Adaptive Cruise. They should be able to individually check-off options they want. I’m in that camp as well, but I also know it’ll never go back to that way.
But then they could not charge $90,000 for a new truck.
I love this look!
Yes sir...That blue and black looks good on the Ford for sure👍🏾
Gorgeous truck!
Beautiful spec! Shout out to Ford for still using a 1997 F150 in its marketing material!😂
JB, as far as I know unless there was a change made very recently, the 7.3 is port injected only rather than a duel port/direct injection system. Having said that, I am "assuming" as a result it does not suffer the same gummy carbon deposit issues on the backside of the intake valves that a direct injection only system will have issues with although that is not to say it would not have some scum carbon crap further back in the intake system behind the port system. That was the one good thing about a carb or throttle body fuel injection system, it kept the whole intake system clean with the constant wash of gasoline.
You are correct, port injected only.
As usual, JB doesn’t know what he’s talking about, lol.
The ford 7.3 is port and direct injection.
@@pjbuckmaster Can you show us information to back that up as while the 3.5 ecoboost and the 5.0 V8 went to DI only and then discovered that was not working out well for those engines and added port injection to them in a refreshed design, the 7.3 came out as a port injection only design but could be changed and have DI added in the future. And my information is coming from Ford themselves for the 2024 model year as per the PFI, not some IA generated garbage. I assume JB just mixed it up with the F150 engine lineup is all ... that is unless Ford has plans to come out with it for the next model year which would remain to be seen as I hear noises of Ford adding a DPF like system to some of the gas engines which is insane.
@@charlesb4267 a common google search will tell u that. It is possible that I am wrong but everything I am seeing is showing that they have both.
Great truck and good value. Love the color also.
Such a sweet truck!
That is a neat color for sure.
Nice truck, great showing👍
Nice practical truck..
Great truck, hope to see some in the used market down the road... Still that 4K Payload, as I am eyeballing a truck camper.. this indeed sways me from going to Ram 2500s....(Aluminium skin helps too for these salty roads.)
This color is spot on, hides all that black plastic so well and shines... honestly I'd get this cause with todays market this is priced along mid level 1500 trucks, with far more capability and far less gimmicks ... p.s. at it's price point lol fender + bed linear should be standard #ford😑
Camper pack deletes the 20” sport wheels, awesome truck, I have a super cab 7.3 lariat.
I would take the tailgate step like I have in my 23 F350 STX over the assisted tailgate all day every day. The step can save an ankle or knee where the assisted tailgate , well , does what?
Ram is rumored to be coming out with a 6.7 gas engine with 336hp and 660lbs of tq.
It’ll have better numbers than that.
The 6.4 Hemi already has 410hp and is so worse in comparison to this 7.3, what makes RAM think that a 336hp engine will improve things for them? The Hurricane was a good upgrade imo but there's literally no point in coming out with a 336hp engine.
@@forzaforce6325 the second gen 5.9 cummins had the exact same hp and tq numbers as this new gas 6.7 thats coming out..Almost the exact same tq cure also as the old 5.9 cummins.. I think this engine will be a game changer with 660 ft lbs of Tq at 2500 rpm..
The only big "miss" from Ford on the XLT is that you can't get the power pedals any more. You have to go up to a Lariat or above for this option. Otherwise, this is a nice truck.
I have those on my 2012 F150 XLT and have never used them, but I can see how they would be useful depending on your height. I do wish they had the leather wrapped stealing wheel, my 2012 truck has it and since it’s your main touch point, it makes the truck fee much nicer. Vinyl/plastic steering whee should be XL work trucks only.
We have 2 7.3's my personal 2020 with 80k miles and a 2021 xlt much like this one with 169k miles that my guys use and abuse daily on jobsites. I use MM oil in the fuel system once a month and every 25k miles I let out a quart and replace it within 1000 miles of my oil change which we do every 5k miles religiously. These trucks run flawlessly, pull our heavy equipment and 17k boat. I am wanting a 2025 in these colors just in a lariat with leather.
Did ford fix the issue with the lack of oil to the lifters , which has been one of the major problems with owners of these 7.3 Godzilla engine
My buddy just ordered this one. It’s just hard to imagine my tremor has 500lbs of torque compared to 480 for this one
500 lbs or 5000 lbs torque
@@timtroia3785 screwed it up- 500. JB said the torque comes on at around 5000 rpm. That got stuck in my head
No marker lights?
I think at one time it was pretty much typically standard for a 3/4 or 1 ton truck to come with roof marker lights but these days it seems its an option which is fine but that allows a heavy duty pickup to go either way with marker lighting and look like a half ton if one wants it that way, I sort of like the marker lights because it denotes its a heavy duty truck and also adds visibility to itself. Then again I am used to class 8 highway tractors which have roof markers for the same reasons, to be seen.
Wide clearance roof marker lights are usually just poser lights on a SRW, they are required by law on duallies because of width.
@@folkenheath That is why they are optional on a single wheel HD pickup, however a dually usually has marker lights on the wide fender flairs but for some reason GM ( not Chev ) decided to put marker lights on all four top edges of the fenders of a SRW HD truck which yes adds to the visibility of the truck but a bit odd why they did that for one brand but not the other of the same manufacturer. Going back to the SRW trucks, they are being used to pull trailers as per fifth wheel flat deck and so forth where max width may be at play and should have marker lights on the truck and so at least they can be ordered with such. But your right, if the SRW truck gets used much like a half ton truck, those marker lights are just going along for the ride ...
I'm glad they didn't put the GMC fender lights on both, gives you options.
@@folkenheath Yes I certainly agree.
XLT doesn't come with adaptive cruise control.
That’s what I was thinking. My 23 lariat doesn’t have it either. I think it has to be the higher trims to get that feature.
Im waiting for the day that the big block displacements will return for these hd trucks. 440 for dodge (yes it'll never happen. But dont kill my delusion😂🤦🏿), 460 for ford (although 7.3 litres is a good size), and the mighty 454 or even the 500 - 8.2 litre for gm
Nice truck if you wanna live at the dealer
Lol, why? Are the 7.3’s still self destructing?
70k for a gasser...
There was another reviewer who just looked at 2025 Ram 1500 Rebel for 69K... with 1500 payload... rather drop that 70K here. ;P (I agree prices cray-cray)
Go get our Silverado 1500 rst then
F350 gas? Spend the extra 10K and get diesel
Diesel sucks balls though
Is the market shifting. That truck is cheap 😂
that isn't that good for a xlt. my 24 plaitium is 3998. so i lost 347 lbs of payload but have ton of options including pano moon roof.
