Today I picked up some dried valerian root to experience with as a hobbyist. I cannot believe how awful it smells! I cannot imagine steeping it as tea. That is why I searched about it and how I came across this video. From other content providers I thought if high A.C. vodka is used to make tinctures they would last forever if kept in dark, cool storage. Now I know better. I hope the valerian tincture is not as smelly as the dried product I’ve got and that the vodka tames it down! Thank you for this precise and to the point information that I can use while developing a tincture with the valerian.

I used 80 proof vodka filtered 10x and I just poured it over the dried Valerian root in a ball 1/2 pint jar. It’s on the counter, but I’ll throw it in the fridge.
