    Weedy I love your videos! Can you share how many acres of land you have?

    • @TheWeedyGarden
      @TheWeedyGarden  11 дней назад +95

      Well the land is not ours. We rent a house at the bottom of the hill and have permission to make the garden on the hill on about 45 acres because I manage the land for the owners. We are building the channel so that it will one day pay to buy the land from the lovely folks who own it. Then we will own the land and build a home next to the garden on the hill. All done entirely on the revenue from the channel and our website. I think it is time to tell everyone the story. I gave up my photography business to focus on the channel because it seems to be helping a lot of folks. Let’s hope my plan and dream come true 🎥🎬🦍 Well…it is coming true 😊

      Thank you for answering@@TheWeedyGarden ! Sounds like a beautiful plan and it will work out. You are like a kindergarden teacher showing us adults how to care for a garden. I love it!
      But can you tell how much of the land you currently use? With your vegetable garden and food forest? Is it 1 acres or 2? Or more? Because I'm buying land as well and I'm trying to figure out how much I need. Your space looks like the perfect size (to start with!)

    So I've been silently watching your videos for some time now, which has been a challenge because every video leaves me bursting with inspiration and gratitude. I have also coined your videos as a cure for depression. There are so many channels out there on just about anything, but there's always that one that just slaps different. My theory is that is has something to do with the internal world of the youtuber, and it would only make sense to say that your internal world is rich with treasures, from your travels and life experience. @6:39 is a perfect example too, I feel you're speaking to your audience as if they are real human beings, and I can feel a sense of care and compassion, as if my grandfather is showing me the way. Thank you Mr. Weedy.

    It is wonderful to have you sharing this wisdom. Thank you :-). I’m sure it’s in the details, but one important thing with tinctures is how long the tincture lasts, is good, preserved. Using glycerine, versus apple cider vinegar (low acidity %) vinegar, versus spirit alcohol affects the life of the tincture, ultimately glycerine has the shortest shelf life, and as you say, alcohol extracts all the beneficial properties more effectively and completely.

    Hi weedy, what I've learned is alcohol pulls out all the alcohol soluble goodness, but you can double concoct your tincture by straining out the solids and simmering them in some water for 20-30 minutes and that would pull out all the water soluble goodness. Then you mix the two (the alcohol and water) after you strain the water together and shake it. It has twice the healing power now because it's now a whole medicine. That a wonderful day!
    Also with roots and thicker things like that I leave the roots in the tincture as I use it and when I start getting low I just top it off with more liquor and shake it. You can do this 2-3 times total before the roots are spent...

      If you use 100 proof, its already doing that at 50% water. Afaik you only decoct after alcohol extraction with something like reishi.
