Hey, Kyle. Never too late to pick up the Sabbath. On reflection, it probably amazes you the amount of their influence you hear in many other bands you grew up with.
Back in the 1981 I woke up in a hospital bed my head all bandaged up and they told me I was lucky to be alive. Then the guy in the bed next to mine let me listen to his Walkman, with this song as the first. Oh the memories. Ever since that this has been one of my favorite tunes.
@@bluesalamander5527 Well, his insurance company paid me handsomely for years till I got better. Now all I have left as a memento of that incident are a couple of holes in my skull. I was very lucky.
allthatgirlcoronado XManX102 The lyrics just work better in this one for funerals or at least my funeral if I have one. This won't be the only Black Sabbath song to be played :D
Thanks for THIS!!! Me and my Chick, Cindy, saw a new group, Van Halen, open for Sabbath in November of 1978, as I was graciously blessed to see Black Sabbath's, "Never Say Die" tour! Cindy is a distant memory, but Black Sabbath always meant LOVE to me and always will!!!
Haha .....I'm a punker and prior to punk ....I collected all the Black Sabbath....Ozzy to Dio and Gillian.....also I do not turn my back on any band I like.....metal,punk,outlaw country ,new wave......yesterday, today ,tomorrow--' future
Not to be curt, but this was a song from Sabbath’s eighth album, they probably knew who they were seeing. I’m definitely sure they weren’t expecting the Dio era in a couple years though
I recall being genuinely blown out of my damn chair by this one when I first heard it as a kid. Not my first Sabbath run, but it was so bright and uptempo but still so fucking heavy. The rest of the album holds its own weight fine, but the title track just ran away with the trophy at the starting gun.
Great clear loud sound for this video. Heres the original awesome Black Sabbath, ready to musically take on the 1980s, expanding, changing, as this dazzling song proves and yet suddenly never to be.
Looks like Ozzy left the band while starting the album came back later on despite the band had another singer , the band droped the other singer and they ended up rewriting the lyrics
im 4 years late but all black sabbath songs were composed mostly by Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler with help from Bill Ward, Ozzy mostly just came up with vocal lines. He didn't write the lyrics either
A lot of people don't understand what this song is about, but here's how it goes: The 70's were creeping up on the 80's, and things were beginning to change. Some of the older people who were old fashioned started saying that rock was going to die out, but bands like Black Sabbath kept it alive!
I will be 34 tomorrow and Ozzy is an inspiration to me when taking myself too seriously. This man is a savage and funny as hell. I sometimes forget to have fun and laugh and play pranks as much as I can.
Dallas Texas 1978 van Halen opened up the show and their buddies schools acted like van Halen ruled ."no fucking way"... never say die tour was a bad ass and so was the album thank you very much
This obviously isn't actually live, but this era of his vocals in general was just peak Ozzy, I wish somehow he still could have sounded like that today.

Never Say Die on the Top of the Pops in 1978
One of the most underrated Songs/Albums of Sab or better: one of the most nderrated Albums of the 1970ies...
Most people hate the album never say die but I always dug it.. A couple of clunkers on it but still
Brilliant band
...it will sell good on Mars in Year 2914...
Excellent album - listen to it all the time since released - still have original vinyl
This has got to be one of the most upbeat sabbath songs.
It's a good one. Energy charged
The closest to "Poppy" Sabbath ever got, and it's still a fucking banger.
Another great song from Black Sabbath - love it - the whole album
Yep, this and Turn up the Night maybe?
It's upbeat but sad at the same time. Makes me think of people I've lost throughout the years.
This album is under rated IMO
This and Technical Ecstasy
I agree! I feel like I'm the only one.
This was the first record I bought when I got my turntable set up back in like 2010.Got it for like 5.00 at a local used record store.
Its my favorite with Sabotage, i dont like paranoid or black sabbatb that much as the mainstream does
Yes this and Sabotage my faves
I'm 57 now and never heard much black sabbath when I was younger. I'm making up what I missed!
Hey, Kyle. Never too late to pick up the Sabbath. On reflection, it probably amazes you the amount of their influence you hear in many other bands you grew up with.
Curious what did you listen to?
It's because they didn't want you too!!
It was devil's music haha
Don’t miss Volume 4! Heavy as hell.
Me too

Never say die, sabbath bloody sabbath and vol.4 my favourites
The time puts things in their place... forgotten, criticized, banished but a great work at last... Many of us are his fans
Tony is a beast on guitar. Ozzy looks awesome in this!
Ozzy sounds stellar Tony of course rules and yes back up off the edge of the cliff and put away the prozac! Wish this song got more love!!
The beast = Goat

This song is the epitome of my early 20's. It makes me want to get back on a motorbike and ride! *
Always loved this song!
Legendary Black Sabbath! 🤟🔥⭐
I remember it well. Back they came with avengence. Blowing away disco and punk. Good old metal. Black Sabbath on TOTP's amazing to see. Happy days.
Eu tinha um mês de vida quando esse álbum foi lançado. Amo Sabbath desde que nasci. Minha banda da vida 🖤
A minha tbm, porém com a primeira formação. As outras gosto, mas não vejo como Black sabbath
I wonder if they knew they knew they were watching a legend Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath man a great time to be alive
Not to be curt, but this was a song from Sabbath’s eighth album, they probably knew who they were seeing. I’m definitely sure they weren’t expecting the Dio era in a couple years though

Critics and the band hated this album. I loved it. Some of the heaviest music ever. Swinging the chain is epic. First time seeing this video.
Bill Ward is a genius! Best drummer ever! And Never Say Die! it's also the best album ever made!
MVDOTTLINGER uh ok :|
Hell yeh. No drummer leaves his mark on a bands tunes like Bill Ward. Best drummer ever Bill Ward.
Not the “best album” but one of 8😉
I do like the live sound and lively playing on this record. Love Shock Wave
Trully, and better than John Bonham...in the same era....
Sabbath rules!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I don't know why Ozzy hates Never say Die its one of my favorites.
It's the softest sounding of their albums
Johnny Blade is the shit.

This is old metal, more akin to rock, and more apt to be danced.
This song ain't metal tho. I ain't dancing to black Sabbath (the song)

One of the best tracks,by Sabbath or in general. Blistering and definitely uplifting to all.

No single comment how there are no cellphones, just people dancing and having a good time 😀
I don't know how this song got past my ears. I just heard it in the end credits of Brütal Legend and am now obsessing about it.
I love air dance from this Album the sabbs all ways had a sweet nak of turning poetry in to very fine metal .
Fun fact, Sonic unleashed has a track titled Rooftop Run and it uses the same chord progression for the main riff in never say die.
