On today’s video I wanna talk about the PlayStation Portal.
The Portal was released last year but they have been hard to find.
After finally purchasing Sony's Remote Player for the PS5, here's my thoughts on such an interesting piece of tech.
Hopefully by the end of this video, you'll have figured out if the PlayStation Portal is for you and if you should buy it!

I kept mine due to convenience. You're on a game, and you gotta go to the bathroom, boot the portal up, and continue your game on the toliet, perfection.
I can def see that being helpful for those off the cuff situations 🤣

Bruh this why I’m getting it I got babies and don’t like smoking in house but I go to the bathroom and smoke this will be perfect for me lol😂
I honestly love mine. I use it all the time, and the actual amount of work I had to do with my router was minimal. And honestly, going in and changing settings helped my overall internet because settings in my router defaulted to 2.4ghz across the board.
The main thing i found with my ps5 in rest mode trying to link to the portal was, Taking my bluetooth dongles out the ps5 to the headset/HDMI port undone on tv.
Connects instantly.

I gotta say, ps portal would have been a new handheld console, but instead they released it as a cloud gaming for PS5. What a wasted opportunity 😔
I mean, seems nice and I would like to be able to play my PS five on the go. Which I have just done remote play on my phone, but I cannot really get on board exclusively with cloud gaming. I don’t like the connection issues and the lag. I ended up deciding to just go big and buy a Legion go.
I love the design of the portable though. I’ve always liked the idea of having a portable with actual controllers on each side.
A wasted opportunity? Do you own one? Me being able to play my "PS5" at work is not a wasted opportunity. Me not wanting to play my PS5 on the main TV but have my portal is not a wasted opportunity. Stop copying other people comments because this portal is amazing and I'm glad it's not a handheld console.
@@griffielliott279 well...sorry, my bad on my part I guess. By the way this comment I have,was my own opinion. Also I'm just a normal average gamer that thinks the best way to play a game from the platforms.

I just did and I haven’t stopped using it. I have really good internet so no lag and i can play anywhere in my house on the go kinda thing. I dono something about it i just love it !!
One thing I will say is that I am quite tech savvy and regarding the network speed I don’t think you need great internet speed but you need great local internal networking between your router and PS5 and Portal, if you are playing at home I don’t think the actual internet is needed other than just checking in with your PSN account on the portal, once it’s passed that point it should just rely on your internal local network, I need to test this more tho 👍🏼
You're absolutely correct. The speeds your ISP provides at home means nothing (outside of multiplayer games connection). Between the portal and the PS5 its purely local network speeds. Hardwire on the PS5 and some good mesh routers and you'll have zero issue no matter what your ISP provides.

My problem is they didn’t make it ps portal like a bootleg switch. I know ps dual sense gets stick drift a lot and it be making mad, at least with joycons I can replace them
I can see that side of things, being able to replace joycons is a dope feature to have
I think they should've done what they did for the dualsense edge, being able to switch out the thumbsticks.
But you can replace the joysticks on the portal 😂😂
Good to hear the remote play is fast
Only fast if your internet is fast like me who has a 300 plus download speeds and 10 to 15 speeds
So if remote play on the psn app is stable for me, then I shouldn’t have a problem with this ps portal right?
Nah you shouldn’t because in my experience the Portal worked better than the app on my phone or iPad.
The only thing pushing me to return mine is if I can’t connect to wifi network outside my house that’ll allow me to play.. in house it’s not an issue.. but Sony saying we can play this anywhere we go but the portal proving otherwise is becoming more and more disappointing… that’s my only issue with it.
I understand that, I ended up returning mine and I got my eyes set on the Asus RoG Ally (even though it’s more expensive than the portal)
I need it at a lower price before I even consider buying something like this

No such thing as 2.4GHz "internet". However there is a thing called 2.4GHz Wifi. NOT the same thing at all.
