    Andrew having watched loads of YT tips I have to say yours has certainly been the best for me, I wish I had found you years ago! Now I have really engaged my arms and let my body follow, everything else just happens dynamically. It would be great to see a video from you on maximising the arm speed, can the arms ever move too fast? Thanks again

      More videos to come on this subject for sure! Like all things - everybody g can be overdone. The goal is to sequence your arms to your pivot! It’s neither an arm swing or a body swing. Rather a blend of the two! Best, Coach A. 🏌️‍♂️⛳️🙏🏻

    Another banger from Andrew. I can attest to this I’ve only done the drills without hitting full shots from Andrew’s other videos on the range 5-6 time, NONE with driver. I played one round replicating the feel and swing and I hit several 275-300. I’m 45 in fairly good shape. What Andrew teaches is simple and just plain works. The best on YT in my opinion. Once you get the sequence down with proper pivot it’s about mastering rhythm and tempo. Thanks Andrew it’s Reggie btw

    Great Teaching Andrew as always! When you drop your arms on the downswing which is the most dominant arm please - ie does the trail arm fall, making the lead arm "fall" or is it the other way around, even perhaps both together?

    Keeping hands inside the stick on the way down is money. Just thinking of that today really did make good things happen out on the course. 12/14 fairways. We’ll see how this continues to work for me, but it did work magic for my struggling driver this morning. Your other tip of keeping back to the target as long as possible has completely transformed my irons. Thank you!

    I’m loving your golf teaching, Andrew. It’s gotten me back on track after injuring my knee trying to use ground forces to get more power. Not good for a 70 year old. Love the use of hands and arms to lead the swing. As a newcomer to your channel I’m in danger of trying all the drills at once! What’s your advice for those introducing your techniques into our golf swings. Where to start? Thanks for the great content.

    • @AndrewEmeryGolf
      @AndrewEmeryGolf  Месяц назад

      Start with your feet together hitting balls off tees with the hitch hiker drill! Swing the club head freely and allow your body to respond dynamically!
      Slowly widen your stance as you increase the length of your swing, aligning a little right and keeping your back to the target as you change direction!
      You’ve likely been spinning your body too early like so many! Once you start feeling like your arms are employing your body you’ll be in sequence and off to the races!

    Good advice as always. One thing I notice is that in all the things you say about the right (trail) leg in the backswing, you never sway back. The right hip turns back, which straightens the right leg, but there is no sagging or swaying backward. You also mention bracing on the inside of your right foot. This stability is critically important. But it is so easy to forget and to allow the momentum of the backswing to lead me to sway just a bit. Problem is that gets a bit too much weight on the outside of the right foot, which leads to the body hanging back just a bit on the downswing, which leads to one of those high way right drives with too much spin, even if contact was good, because the swing path is in to out with the face open. Not really a slice even though it curves left to right. It can repeat and be really vexing until a light bulb goes on in the old noggin and as I address the next ball I remind myself to brace against the right leg, turn my right hip and let the right leg straighten, but don’t let the hips sway back and weight shift that tiny bit to the outside of the right foot. It seems like very small adjustments, but the result will be a straight drive with lower, correct height and spin and landing angle, and perhaps even a little draw.

      I personally struggle with some lateral movement with my pelvis. This has disastrous consequences effecting path, low point control and the ability to pivot the club correctly through the ball. More work ahead for me too!!

    Great video… as usual. So many so-called “axioms” in the backswing pivot debunked. No space between the knees… don’t straighten the knee… don’t drag the club around the corner… always keep the club in front of you, etc. I tend to drag the club around the corner a bit but still manage to hit a draw. You are giving average golfers “permission” to make a more efficient swing rather than try to copy the moves of young professional and expert golfers and a lot of instruction promoting that approach. Kudos to you, sir!

    How do i prevent swaying if my back foot is not planted in cement

    • @AndrewEmeryGolf
      @AndrewEmeryGolf  Месяц назад +1

      Your pelvis needs a new pattern! Trail hip moves ‘behind you’ and not laterally! There is of course some resistance with the feet! You don’t want spaghetti noodles underneath you. However, allowing the knees and feet to respond dynamically rather than freezing them is the easiest way to create depth in the backswing in my opinion.
