Okay because literally every "crochet cardigan tutorial" I've ever seen before this just gave me a little pattern of what the squares were supposed to look like and she ACTUALLY taught me how to make the squares!!! This is literally the best cardigan tutorial I've seen so far and made making my cardigan so easy. I will definitely be coming back to this channel!!!
OMG i'm beyond grateful that you found it useful!! That was a mood bost for me >.
Wow thx this make me feel happy cuz I think I found the tutorial finally😂🎉
@@dexterousdorothy4691inshallah u will be rewarded with jannah for helping her
😊
this made me rlly happy because i was gonna make a daisy one but the squares were so complicated and small but these are easy and big with a proper pattern fot the squares aking it easy to follow! I only had to watch you do the square once to memorise it - will come back to this channel as you earned another sub :)

Hey how much yarn did you use for each color?@@McPancakePopcorn
Thank you for putting the pattern in the description because yes vids are helpful but only when I need them so thank you thank you thank you
I'm glad you found it helpful
Hey can you please tell me what size this cardigan is…I’m a bit overweight so I don’t know if it’ll be a bit tight for me if I make one similar to this size
Actually I weigh 60kg and I feel that it's very over sized so I think it will fit you even if you're a little bit overweight
So the square is measured 15cm.. Which is 18 rows?
Yes
How do u size it according to your body type? Like is there any way you can make it smaller or bigger?
Actually its standard sizw but if you want to make it shorter take of the bottom ligne of square of both the front and back panel, to make it longer add a nother bottom ligne ect
Hey, quick question. To make the sleeves do we have to fold them in half and saw them that way? Also, do we have to make 2 of the middle ribbing?
After crocheting 16 squares and sewing them together (for each sleeves) take the edges of the piece and sew each stitch with its pair in the other edge, as for the middle ribbing, no you just have to make one long ribbing that you re going to attach to the right, the neck line and all the way through to the left part, I wish I was helpful, its quite difficult to explain it in text lol
@@dexterousdorothy4691 this really, helped, thank you so much!
@dexterousdorothy4691 I'm sorry to bother you, but each sleeve is 12 squares. Was it supposed to be 16?
You are the best, I searched a lot for a wide-sleeved cardigan that does not need trouble. Also, the colors you have chosen are very consistent, thank you very much. As you know winter is coming and I need it because it will be according to the design I want. And thank you very much✨😊✨
I'm so happy you found it helpful
I plan on making this but with pumpkin granny squares for fall, how much yarn did you end up using of each color?
Edit: Nevermind I found one of your replies ^^
Have a question, what is the size and measurements of each square? I'm worried that if my yarn be a bit thinner would it look the same?!
No if your yarn is thinner you will end up with quite smaller squares but you can fix that by adding more rows until your square measures 15cm in height and weight
can you do a version without using squares pretty please? I want to do a single colour cardigan
I'll make sure to do that
اليوم بديت بأول مربع😭
Keep going!!!
Omg it’s so prettyyy 💕 definitely my next project
Just give it a try it's worth it ❤️
I have 1 question please can u answer it as fast as possible cuz i dont have time
Are the squares actually supposed to be squares or like can they be a little un even like one side is a little bigger than the other or do they have to be the same
Actually it doesn't matter if they don't look like straight squares because eventually they're gonna be sewed together which is going to even them up.
@@dexterousdorothy4691 thankyou so much for answering quickly it helped alot!❤
can a boy of medium size can wear it??
If you weigh btw 50-70kgs then it will fit
Hi I really hope u are still responding to comments… Ik that someone asked about the size of the cardigan and I’m not sure I quite understand how u answered it …I was really really hoping that u would tell me as a young teen size small or extra small how many squares I should do or maybe I should do the same number of squares except that I make them smaller. If u can tell me how much chains and rows I should do in each square square will help a ton ❤ please respond, I am counting on u to tell me the correct rows and chains I should do to fit me perfectly 😅 Oh I don’t want it to fit me tightly I want it abit oversized.💋❤ please don’t tell me that if I do the same it will fit me just fine I don’t want it too be too big for me oh and in one of the comments u replied to remove a column, how? I only remove a column from the back and in front I do the same as u did?
First of all I really appreciate your support and your sweet words means a lot ❤️❤️ as for the the size of the cardigan, there is two ways go make it smaller, just keep your eye on the pannels and read the following?
1) substracting 1 ligne vertically (column) and 1 ligne horizentally (row) from the back panel, which means you will only crochet 12 squares for the back panel (just look at the back panel and you'll get it), then substract 1 culumn and 1 row from the front pannel (make 12 squares for the front pannel), for the side pannels, substract one column and one row for each sleeve (make 12 squares for each sleeve) so in total you will crochet only 26 squares
2)or you can work with a thin yarn like #2 and a 3mm crochet hook (but still i'm not sure you would end up with a small cardigan anyway)
I really hope I was helpful
Hi thank u soooooo muchhhh. I really appreciate that u took some time responding inshallah I will make it starting today ❤
2more question First i Do the same the same size of squares as u did? 😅Secondly,I understood how to do the front and back panel but the sleeves I did not understand how to subtract the coulomn for each sleeve can u tell me how many squares for each sleeve and tell me how to subtract ( horizontally and vertically for each sleeves ) I did not understand the sleeves cuz u said 12 squares for each sleeve and u did 12 squares for each meaning I do the same sleeves as u? And I am will use double crochet not half double crochet is that ok?Thank u for ur time😊
👀 got a new project to make now. Your videos are so clear to understand. It's perfect for one of my friends birthday who loves cardigans.

Can you tell me which part you did not understand I'll try my best to explain it, also you're so sweet and thoughtful to give it as a gift
Hi!!! I’ve been searching all over and this is the most perfect tutorial I found mashallah (iykyk what this means haha) I was wondering if I could make all the little squares the same color, basically the whole cardigan one color lol. I would search for a tutorial that had a one color cardigan but this video shows exactly what to do when to do. Greaaaatt job🥰
Omg Im so happy you found it helpful
If I used slightly thicker yearn would that change anything like I wouldn’t care if the size be bigger but would it change anything?
I still have some doubts abt the parts where u join all the parts... I wrote down the details how to crochet each part clearly... Thx to u.. its easy to understand... ❤ I'm excited to crochet my own cardigan... I'm going to do it after my semester... So I'm going to start crocheting this next month... I will keep update after i start crocheting...

What you don't state is what sized person it fits, or how to adjust for other sizes.
Its standard
Me encanto el tutorial, está clarísimo, muchas gracias ❤
About how long would this project take? Is it doable in a week
It took me a month actually but I was super lazy while doing the squares, so if you make 4 squares a day you may end it by the half od thr month
one question, how do you attach not the sleeve cuffs but the other ribbing to the front panels and the collar and the bottom ribbing strip as well? is it the same as attaching all the squares to each other? i’m a beginner and want to make sure before i start attaching it so i don’t mess up my work.
-Front ribbing --> attach each stitch's side of it to one stitch's side of the squares, ie each gap in the side of the ribbing with one gap in the squares since you're working vertically (right bottom --> collar --> left bottom)
-Bottom ribbing --> attach each stitch's side to two or three stitches of the squares as if you're decreasing
Your tutorial doesn’t show how to actually sew the cardigan together. You’ve shown how to sew two squares but not how to construct the cardigan.
I showed how to sew the squares together as well as ribbings to squares, if you pay enough attention you'll find out how to construct the cardigan as a whole ☺️
I LOVE this tutorial!! Thank you for explaining so thoroughly!!
Im so glad you found it helpful
Hey I have a question when you show the square how it show it was supposed to look like I am used yarn that is thinner but thick at the same but when I do it the rows at smaller and smaller when I do it so could you help me with that

do you know how to size this up? i'm a bit heavier and want to have an oversized cardigan, and i'm worried this would be too small for the look im going for
Just to give you an idea of how it might look on you, i'm 5'5 tall and I weight 65kg, and as you can see it looks really oversized on me, so I dont think you need to make it any bigger even if you are a little bit overweight, however you can make it the same size I did and try it on, then you can decide whether or not to make it bigger, qnd to do so you will want to simply add another column and ligne in both the front and back panel, as for the sleeves i dont think they need to be any bigger
I loved the explanation ,thank you so much ❤ بارك الله فيك

This is the best crochet cardigan I’ve found on the internet so far. I haven’t made it yet, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this is adjustable? I have a small frame, so while I want this to be oversized, I don’t want to be drowning in this. If yes, how can I adjust it? What size does it fit?
Just to give you an idea of how it might look on you, I weight 65kg and Im 5'5 feet tall, and as you can see it looks quite oversized on me, what I recommend to make it smaller is to take off the bottom ligne from both the front and back panel, as for the sleeves take off one column from both the right and left sleeve to make it narrower, I wish this was helpful

Hello, I am a beginner and I want to do your tutorial because it looks so beautiful!
However I do have a question : I am 5'7" and very much on the heavy side, so I fear that it would not fit me properly. Is it oversized? Is there any way I could manage to size it up if needed?
I apologize if I made any mistake as English is not my mother language😅
Im 5'5 tall and I weigh 132 pounds, and as you can see it looks very oversized on me so I think it will fit on you even if you're a little bit over weigh, however you can add a column of squares in the back panel

Hello! I wanted to ask how do you put buttons onto this cardigan?
You just need to skip 2 stitches where you want to put the buttons (to create a hole) on the left ribbing, and attache the botton by sewing on the right ribbing

Hey i was wondering if i can make back panel for 1 square shorter. Like you have 5 squares long but can i make it with 4 squares? And my each front panel is like 2 squares long😭😭😭. Would it work what do you think? Basically i want to short it for one square.
Yes you can just make sure you take of 1 column at the bottom of both the back and front panel
Hii, im new to crochetting but I have questions.. so I can't seem to find 8ply. Instead i find 4 ply 😅.. so Should I just use 4ply or can I use Cotton Milk(5ply)?
And if I do use 4ply, do I make them wider than the video one?
I prefer milk cotton 5ply
In the final result, the sleeves appear to have 4 squares across not 3 as in the video.
Did you add more?
So if its 250 gr for each yarn then if 1 yarn is 50 gr i need like 5 yarn for each colour right?
Yep exactly
Thats going to be my project after my giant strawberry and my obergine 🤣
Good luck Im sure you re going to nail it!!
How long is chain suppose to hr
Im not quite sure but you need to work with #8ply yarn which is known as DK or light worsted
do u have any alternative yarn to use since acrylic yarn seems to be not breathable in my country's weather :))
You can use cotton
Hii! This is a great tutorial, i was wondering if you could use size 6 yarn. I have a lot of extra blanket yarn from plushies i crochet and wanted to make this out of it. Thank you!

Can a teenager girl wear it ? Will it be bigger for a teenager? If yes, then how to fix that problem?

Yes you can! And Thank you so much for your support
@@dexterousdorothy4691 😊💖💖
Hi
Even if i doubt you'll reply but i would really like to know how to make this cardigan a bit longer
If i can just add a row of squares at the bottom but the issue is that it can end up being to long
I would really appreciate any recommendations from anyone ❤️
Also do i need to block the squares
I'm a beginner and this is my first big project and your answers will be a great help
To make the cardigan bigger you will want to add one column (vertically) and one ligne (horizontally) both in the back panel and make sure to alternate between the colors of the squares just to end up with a beautiful panel. As for the sleeves I dont think you need to add any further squares because they are really ( I mean really) oversized and I believe they will fit on you even if you are overweight. So you will crochet not only 63 squares but 70 squares since you are adding 7 squares in the bag panel (4 vertically and 3 horizontally)
Wdym by block the squares, also Im sure you're gonna nail this project just give it a try
@@dexterousdorothy4691 no i didn't mean make it bigger im actually size S i just want to make it longer
And from what you said i can add a line horizontally i guess ?
@@dexterousdorothy4691
An concerning the blocking i saw some ppl put the squares in water and stretch them or something like that
Or is it just fr granny squares thank youu soo much fr replying ❤️ I'll definitely give it a shot
Yes that's right but make sure to add fhat line horizontally in boththe back and front panel
What if I want it slightly shorter and not really oversized?
Just take off the bottom ligne from both the front and back panel
what size is this?
It's standard because it's oversized so it fits all body sizes (except XS)
Heyy i wanna make one for my friend as a birthday gift she's kinda overweight like maybe 80kg do i add like a 300 gram for each color? Or idk ❤️😆
To give you an idea Im 5,5 tall and I weight 65kg and as you can see it looks really oversized on me, so I dont thing you need to make it any bigger, however what I recommend is make the whole cardigan following the same steps I showed and then you can try it on you and see if it would fits her, if you want to make it bigger add another ligne at the bottom of both the front and back panel
@@dexterousdorothy4691 thx so much (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
Can you please tell me the ply weight and can you please suggest a link from amazon yarn which you will prefer. But if you think giving the link is not possible please just suggest some companies from amazon and tell me the ply weight and the crochet hook number😅
You will need #8ply yarn aka DK or light worsted, and its acrylic so it doesn't shrink when washed, actually I just bought it from an inconvenient store but you can look it up on amazon by tapping acrylic yarn #8ply
What's the size of the yarn 🧶
I used medium #3 yarn aka DK or light worsted
What type of yarn and what ply? Does 8ply okay?
I used medium weight yarn, but you can go with medium to bulky yarn
I love this pattern! It was a little short on me though (5'7)
Im so glad you finish it!! And yes it may look a little bit short on you, I am personally 5'5 tall, but if you're not satisfied with how kt turned out, you can add one bottom ligne of squares in both the front and back panels
Can i follow this method and make a one color cardigan ?
Yes, definitely
Di can you tell me what is the size of these crochet hooks 4mm 😢
4,5mm
I like it so much. Also your tutorial is so understandable. I am going to give it try even though i am beginner in crocheting. Could you tell me how many yarns do i need for every color?
I'm so glad you found it helpful! Also it's really worth trying even if you're a beginner you'll easily get used to making the squares, as for the yarn you'll be needing 250grams for each each color (I wored with three colors but you can add or subtract any one you want) good luck
