I just started this game for the first time the other day. I can honestly say it is one of the best final fantasy games I've played. I have played most of them. It's just really good.
Even though this is my least liked of the PS1/2 FF games, it’s still orders of magnitude better than anything modern. Just an emotional roller coaster. It’s so sad we will likely never see a full HD remaster of it. (Square supposedly lost the needed source and development files.)

This song brings out how truly beautiful the story is. Not many people really pay attention to the story, but when you think about it, the lost love between Laguna and Julia, and her love song she wrote that was inspired by her. Their children fell in love and saved the world. Truly the best Final Fantasy.

After playing this game, I couldn't sleep. Every time I tried to, the characters came up before my eyes. I was literally in love with the game and the characters and I couldn't just stop playing. At first, I thought this was just some game. But just after the intro sequence, It grabbed my attention. Beautiful game, excellent and moving storyline(enough to make you cry. Heck, it made me cry), touching and deep characters, and unbelievably cute romance theme.Best Game ever

And this song is just sweetly beautiful, the love story of Squall's father seems just like other love stories, but what makes it beautiful is this song. That was a beautiful morning when I woke up, listened to this song and thought of love story of Squall's father and I just felt like love is really something beautiful the most in the world. Rinoa is absolutely beautiful and a great character, it's a shame we haven't seen her make a proper appearance in anything else. I think she's going to be in Kingdom Hearts 3 though, so whooooo!

To be honest, I think that because the old (first 10) FFs were so much more well-written and the characters were so much better and more well-developed, they pretty much all could potentially have a game based on prior or post events or specific characters. Especially the intro. A week ago, he was holding me in his arms and he said to me '' You are my shooting star, my biggest treasure. '' '' I love you way beyond infinite, you can't understand, even for me it's hard to bear it. '' You know, sometimes, I really thought I was complatly crazy and I was imagining all of this, these words, these visions. After I hard period I thought that I might didn't want to face reality, a reality too harsh for me to live in, and thus living in a imaginary world, rotating on myself in the dark. Well that would have been iconic tho * biting my finger with a sexy dramatic face * But most seriously, there are signs everywhere for me, in certain games, music, manga ect. He is everywhere. the girl character in this game loses him after the witch kills him and half way of the game til the end she lives in an imaginary world with him still alive (she drifts alone in space) until.. until law of attraction makes its way through. Power of thoughts and all that. Creation. Maybe how light was created through despair, hope and faithfulness. This game is everything. The duality if each characters, bad n' good ect. It delivers a strong message but majority of people haven't understood it. Of course. I was so blind. He is everywhere, we are everywhere. People wants to find '' the one '' because they know inside that love is the ☀️ and the true strength even if this low vib world makes you think the contrary. Once it was done, many left the darkness to find their path to reach what we have reached him and I. An extremely difficult road ahead, that will result in pain and tears, craziness sometimes, but at the end it is totally worth it. Thats why you're here.

People say the graphics are rubbish, best graphics for it's time. People say it has no story, oh you pushed it too far, this game has a story way beyond your imagination, better than any story you find in games now-a-days. This was my childhood, and I will most likely die with it.

For me this was the best Final Fantasy series with the best soundtrack of them all. Though the storyline was quite straight but still u need so many hours just to complete it. Being a FF7 fan I always thought this was a let down until i finally beat it wow what a game is now easily my second favorite FF never thought a game could ever run 7 quite close :)
sure the character graphics were not the best but the background terrain and buildings were incredible and this game has the most HD cut scenes I've ever seen in a game + the story line had such a incredible deepness to it and character chemistry and development matched it very well. To this day know game in the world has impacted me in the way FF8 did. It's safe to so FF8 will never be matched modern day developers don't have the creativity needed to do it again.
