One can love them or hate them, but it's hard to miss the fact, that their songs are very diverse and are made up of one hundred different riffs and hooks that end up in a weird choruses etc. I mean, that is exactly what I call interesting music. Just trying to analyze what I've just listened to on a different level.
Gwar is objectively a good band. I’ve gotten nothing but enjoyment from basically everything they have ever done. They know metal can be serious but also self-aware and fuckin fun. And they do it well.

i don't think a lot of people know how hard it is to play those riffs at 1:34 and 2:14, you have to have good timing and technical skill to make that sound as solid as it does. not to mention the amount of vocal inflection you need for this song, so much going on and i love it

I used to be like you when I first discovered gwar but than I realized after hearing so much death metal they are a unique band because no other band ever did the genre of death metal that was so involving it's fans at shows. Made up chRavters to further make it fun. Gwar will always be one of those fun death metal bands. Where most are serious and lack the stand out aspect of the band for them it was the outfits the names to go with the made up outfits even adding a woman into the band also making it very very interactive probably the most interactive set you'll ever go to was a gwar concert. Funny fun entertainment all while giving the death metal genre something out of the ordinary to hold on to forever. You can't find a band more creative in a theatre sense than gwar. It's like if you're feeling down turn on a gwar album and you'll sure to feel better afterwards. Laughing through the sets having fun at the concerts it was a fun time for death metal when oderus urrungus was alive. The most animated death metal singer ever in the history of the genre.

I used to be like you when I first discovered gwar but than I realized after hearing so much death metal they are a unique band because no other band ever did the genre of death metal that was so involving it's fans at shows. Made up chRavters to further make it fun. Gwar will always be one of those fun death metal bands. Where most are serious and lack the stand out aspect of the band for them it was the outfits the names to go with the made up outfits even adding a woman into the band also making it very very interactive probably the most interactive set you'll ever go to was a gwar concert. Funny fun entertainment all while giving the death metal genre something out of the ordinary to hold on to forever. You can't find a band more creative in a theatre sense than gwar. It's like if you're feeling down turn on a gwar album and you'll sure to feel better afterwards. Laughing through the sets having fun at the concerts it was a fun time for death metal when oderus urrungus was alive. The most animated death metal singer ever in the history of the genre.
