@30:30 omg - this is gold! i had no idea there were emu config apps in F1 and that you can assign controller profiles on a per game basis - this is critical for Wind Waker so you can choose a Pro controller (assigned to controller 2) when you begin!
OMG, thanks for this upload. I'm waiting for my PC to come in the mail and start my build. I will be adding this emulator to the system as well. I'm building it for a friend of mine. For those having controller issues like me follow the process at 29:33 to create a custom profile and apply that to every game you have.
I tried this but for some reason when I click on x-input like in the video my controllers don't show up. They only show up in dinput and when I map the buttons it doesn't work properly. My controllers are definately x-input as they work fine and detected under x-input in the windows installation of cemu. I am running batocera V32 and also tried V30 and 31 with no luck

@@juliangolla7572 I had the same issue but if you set it with dinput then go into the game profile for each game and set to one of the profiles you've made it works.
I know this video is for an older version of Batocera but I came here looking to see why my verision V36 isnt picking up Wii U games even though they are all .WUX files. Turns out V36 doesnt support .WUX so you can convert the .WUX to .WUA using CEMU > TOOL > Tile Manager >Right Click > Convert to Compressed Wii U file (.wua). If you place these in the wiiu folder in the roms folder then the games will now show up in the main menu after you START > GAME SETTINGS > UPDATE GAMELISTS
Thanks for your explanation. I'm still using V35, because when I updated to V37 the WiiU games disappeared. Now, do you know if this problem is solved with the V38? I can't find an answer anywhere!

Well, thanks to Batocera 37 you can't use WUX files with CEMU. There goes my whole collection. Thanks Batocera!
That happened in v36
And I believe its the Cemu emulator that no longer supports wux, not Batocera.
So by updating the Cemu emulator to the new native linux version, performance has been slightly increased, this is good, but yes, wux is no longer supported by the emulator which can defo be a pain.
Maybe you should take that up with the devs at Cemu instead.
@@fonzitheman You're wrong. Batocera and Cemu play WUX files in V36. In the v37 batocera change log, it specifically states v37 is removing the WUX file support. However, if you open the applications folder, they're still recognized in CEMU. This is a Batocera problem

Ah yes, you are correct, v37 changelog shows wux is not supported.
Side note, i seen a post on reddit or somewhere, cant remember now where someone says his wux format roms wont run in cemu, the reply was cause wux is a pirated format so wont work anymore.

Upgraded to BAT 35 recently and Wii U games do not boot anymore, nor does the app open up on the backend. Once again, they used to work. Seems like I must brace myself for these upgrades to BAT. Every time I upgrade, something somewhere does not function like it used to.
Before updating to v35 and you used v34 did you add any systems not officially supported by Batocera, like Switch for eg, or anything else?

You have to have the correct file extensions. You can see the correct file extensions in the info.txt file found in roms for the particular game console.

No. The game already has to have the correct extension to begin with. It is like changing a zip file to a txt file. It won't work.

I'm having trouble when I run the game it takes me right back to the main menu and when I go to F1 and try to open the application it won't do anything

Thanks for your great tutorials. I have a problem with controller settings in Cemu. Whenever I try to set up controllers in the Cemu application, none of my controllers are showing. There is nothing I can do in this application to change controller settings. It seems that batocera is blocking me from changing anything regarding controller settings. I am playing Mario World 3d, and i'm stuck where i should use the touch or the microphone pad to blow stuff, Any idea? I also tried every advance settings for this games like activating mouse motion and keyboard control but nothing has worked up to now....
Just having no luck with Cemu in Batocera, followed the guide, used Loadiine Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate which has great compatibility (and I have purchased a physical copy of the game on both WiiU and 3DS), got keys, but just getting a white screen, then a quick title splash image then everything goes black, I do get a Shaders loading prompt but it just stays black, I can exit out with the hot key though.
CEMU has been the most problematic emulator. You might want to check out the forums on Batocera.org or their Discord server. Someone there might know a solution.

@@BatoceraNation I managed to get it working, after some research it turned out I needed a game update for MH3U to work in CEMU, after installing that and configuring my gamepad it works, the game crashes when I go into the options screen but I can play now, which is good because it runs much better than the Wii version I was playing the last day or so (need to replay a few missions but I didn't get far).

Yes. Follow these steps:
1. Press F1 to go into File Manager
2. Select "Applications"
3. Click on CEMU
4. Select "Options"
5. Select "General Settings"
6. Select the "Graphics Tab"
7. Select "VSync"
8. Experiment with "Double-buffering", "Triple buffering" or "Match emulated display" to find out which one gives you the best results.

Do you need to save the overlay after making changes to FPS for Zelda and Similar changes in Cemu settings? Or will it just stick?
Just close the config window and the changes should "stick".

My laptop is too old/ slow to run this. Tempted to get a new PC to run Cemu. I will save this for later. 😅
You can get a Nuc computer for under $600 and it will run CEMU really well. Newegg has the ASRock i7-1165G7 for $580. Even the ASRock i5-1135G7 for $450 will run CEMU.
I have a very strange problem with my sound in cemu. Batocera and others have sound over HDMI. Its muted in cemu. The audio device is disabled in settings, and I can't seem to change it through either cemu settings, nor the settings.xml file. I don't know what to do anymore.
In terms of getting the actual games, updates and dlc I strongly recommend using WiiUSB Helper. Its an amazing program that basically does everything for you. Note to those testing games for the first time, New Super Mario Bros requires a graphic pack to start the game properly. I think Mario Kart 8 is the best test rom.
But if I'm not mistaken, WiiUSB Helper. Do not bring files in WII U ISO (Loadiine) format. Am I right? Cemu only runs with loadiine.
Does the experimental VSYNC options in the cemu settings menu work for anyone? If set to on, games do not start anymore. Would be a shame, since that was the best VSYNC option. I dont think I can access nvidia VSYNC options in Batocera, right?
No, you can't access it within Batocera. There is another VSYNC option found in System Settings within the Main Menu in the Developers section.
@@BatoceraNation Thank you. I enabled that Option and also disabled the VSYNC in cemu, so they do Not interfere. But there ist still Screen Testing. I will Experiment more
Hi, I'm having issues with cemu. For some reason when compiling shaders in botw (mid game) it freezes doesn't matter how long i leave it, it just freezes. I think i have decent specs (at least enough to play it) so I don't know why it isn't working. I've tried many different settings but get the same results. My CPU is i7 1165g7 and gpu is iris xe.
Is here a way to enable Gyro? On Windows it works fine in Cemu with a Switch Pro Controller.

Sorry. The newer videos have fixed this issue. All videos since early August have leveled audio.

Thanks to your response on another comment now I know my old Intel chip gen 4 machine can't run Cemu.
Now, even so, here is a question: I noticed that the Cemu app, at the "about" section or the menu, has the option to check for updates.
Is it safe to actually update Cemu in Batocera, using that option?
No. It won't work. CEMU and all the other emulators are automatically updated when Batocera comes out with a new upgrade. Every quarter Batocera will have a new upgrade.
Pls show where to put in shader cache in cemu batocera also… I know how to do this on windows but not sure it’s the same in batocera
I've been able to get a couple games working but most just open a solid white screen and crash. A few will run the title screens of the game and then crash. I'm on 9th gen i7 with new gpu and batocera.

This error usually happens when you don't have a gpu or an advanced integrated graphics chip. Or you are using a Nvidia graphics card but you haven't turned it on. What are the specs of your Batocera system?

@@BatoceraNation I fixed it by turning on my Nvidia card! Definitely worked for cemu. But for some reason not all my Wii u games show in the batocera list. I also noticed that turning on my Nvidia card made some, not all of my model 3 games to start to work. All were not working before.
Andre, your Intel 4600 is too weak to handle CEMU.

Thanks so much for this. I got everything and all games work perfectly except when I go to controller setup with cemu config and when I click xinput nothing shows up in the drop down menu for controllers. All my controllers show up with dinput but it just doesn't map properly. I have cemu in windows and all my controllers work with xinput fine but it is not showing up in batocera under xinput. I am running Batocera Version 32 with a PC. I have the dolphin bar with wiimote plus in mode 3, 2x logitech f710 gamepads and 2x Asus TV500BG gamepads. All of them show up only in dinput. They all work perfectly fine in all other emulators within batocera.
Yeah. Some are having problems with controller setup in Cemu. Try posting your problem in the Batocera forums.

Hi, I tried to find the Mario kart 8 rom on Ziperto, in the Wii u iso Loadiine section. Now I have a Mario Kart folder with : code folder, content folder, meta folder. I put the all Mario kart folder in the Wii U roms folder. But it doesn't work. Did i made something wrong ?
After you copied it, did you update the Games list? Does Batocera show you Wii U at all?

@@tournesol74 I have an idea. Try loading the game from the app itself. Follow the instructions on how to update and add DLC. But instead, try loading the game from there.

Mhh, what about motioncontrols? In botw you have shrines that need motioncontrols to solve them.
You might want to try the Switch version. Believe it even runs better and faster.

I'm getting a white screen whenever I attempt to run a game. Getting same issue on my Linux Mint install of Cemu. My images are dumps of my own games using 'dumpling' on my Wii U. Any thoughts?

Is there a way to set up DS4Windows into batocera? The Dualshock 4 sixaxis support is amazing and very necessary in some games.
I don't believe this is possible.
Why do I get two copies of the mario Kart 8. I keep getting to copies when I install to the roms. If I delete one of them the game won't work.
What format are your wiiu roms? Does that happen only for mart kart 8? Or all your wii u roms?
What you could do is select advanced game option, check metadata of each of those 2 files of that same wii u game.
And choose to hide one (not delete). Dont think it matters which one you hide cause as you said either one will launch your game.
That way you will only see the one file in the gameslist and it will still launch as the other is still there, just hidden.
Just completed the install but will only play with Open GL, Vulcan just crashes and hangs to the system forcing a hard reboot.
Your Batocera system doesn't have the right drivers for Vulcan. Might be an older system.

I believe your ATI card is simply too older. It's from 2008 and old cards don't normally work on Batocera.

Go into the Meta data of the folder (hold down your A or B button and you'll see it) and Hide it.
Any wiiu I try to start just goes to a blank screen and then back to batocera. I have both loadiine format and wud. They work fine on windows but not in batocera.
All your games? It is hard to figure out what is going on without me being there physically. I've tried it on 3 different systems, including the GPD Win 2 and they all work.
Happens to me with the experimental VSYNC option enabled.
I've tried Wipeout 3 but it lagged, so i tried to download graphic packs but it doesn't find anything :/ How can i lower the settings now?
At this point, if you can't lower your resolution or any other graphic setting there's not much you can do.

Please for the love of all that is sacred I need HELP!! I have been working for months trying to fix my issue with Cemu. I had it working and everything was great, but then it just stopped working. I hadn't changed anything either. The Cemu config will not even work either. The log shows that Wine seems to be having an issue loading. Says the directories are not found, or it couldn't write to the directories, which are the emulated windows directories that it creates. When I make a fresh install on a usb stick, i can get Cemu config to load, but once i tell it to use an external device as storage, even if it's a completely fresh storage device, Cemu config no longer loads. What gives here? Nothing in the world makes sense anymore.
Is Batocera also running off the external drive or just the emulators? If it is only the emulators that are running off the external then you will need to link the games to your internal roms folder. To do this follow this tutorial: ruclips.net/video/aYKD9TQjHYM/видео.html. The only update is that you can now link files and folders to the main rom internal folder.
If both Batocera and your games are running off the external drive then something else is going on if Cemu is not working. In that case you will need some expert directions. If so, pose your question in the official Batocera.org forums.
@@BatoceraNation Thanks so much for responding. I'll have to check out the forums as you suggested. It appears to just be a Wine issue, because I can't get windows games to load either, giving me the same error in the log about wine not loading or being able to write to the directories. I have Batocera running of a usb stick all by itself, and all my roms are on another external HDD. Again, all of this was working at one point with this same setup. I have cured it before by doing a fresh install of Batocera on the usb stick, the Cemu config opens fine, but once I tell it to use an external drive, Cemu config fails to open because Wine won't open. I can't even find any directories for Wine anywhere. I've never had such a tough issue to solve!

I tried Mario Kart 8 on my Batocera Retro Machine via Cemu and the game seems to run in half of speed from the original gamespeed. FPS ist ok, but gaming speed is weird. Can somebody help me?

I too have had a hard time using keys. Instead, I use decrypted games and that allows me to play them.

How did you installed all these emulators ? I got only ps2 . Psp and retroatch .. i need to add duckstation and dolphin ! But i dont know how ..?
They all come pre loaded when you flash the Batocera image.
Once you drop roms jnto the appropriate folders, systems should show up in main system view.
But if you mean when you press F1 to enter the file manager and you locate retroarch and the stand alone emulators and they not even showing in the apps then something went wrong.
Are you using an official Batocera build downloaded from the website? Not a pre configured image from elsehwere?
If so I could only suggest flash the newest version of Batocera as new and start over.
Unless someone else had a suggestion?

im getting issues with saying that bios' are missing but i definitely have them in correct folders it lets me play the game has anyone else had this? Spent all morning figuring it out.
All bios files should go in the one bios folder provided.
There is an option in Batocera thats lets you any missing bios files too.
Hit start and then select Games Settings, scroll down to Missing Bios Files Check.

But how do you actually install Cemu?
You don't install it. It is pre-installed for your already. Once you add the games in the "Cemu" folder in Roms, then you will see the emulator in your theme. If you don't see it in your theme, try a different theme.
@@BatoceraNation well soemtiing happened with cemu. Controllers stopped working always showed disabled on controllers and would not show xinput for my Xbox controller. I deleted all the cemu files and redownloaded and installed new cemu files and it worked but things are messed up. I accidentally deleted the cemu shortcut under applications and can’t get it back. Games are working after hours of moving things around into different folders until suddenly my controller is working: what’s weird though is when I am able yo launch cemu from inside batocera it still shows controllers disabled and acts like it doesn’t work… I have no clue what’s going on. It’s almost like its running the new files I installed for cemu but acting like the old version of Cemu that didn’t work.
@@BatoceraNation what I’d like to do is delete it all and start over with a fresh version of cemu and figure out how to recover the shortcut under applications.

I can get cemu to work on my computer but cant get games to start on batocera. =(
What are the specs of your computer? Do you have a Nvidia card? If so, have you done this first?

@@BatoceraNation I made that change for my batocera to use my graphics card it made a big m difference with other roms but still can't get a game to even start for wii u. I just select it and it just returns back to the list, no messages at all why it's not working.

Are you trying to run loadline version of the games? Those work best. Try also downloading the European version of the loadline games. For some reason, those games gave users less trouble.
@@BatoceraNation yes im using the loading version of the games and the games either go back to the selection screen or just never load.
@@BatoceraNationnope the European version didn't work either and I've tried reinstalling batocera 3x's now and still the same result when trying to load a Wii u game
@@desmondkelly6168 I personally downloaded both versions and got them working. I don't know what is going on except to say that something is getting corrupted with downloading or copying of the files. Without me being there personally, I don't know how else to help you.
@@BatoceraNation Atfer multiple attempts and countless reinstalling of batocera i was able to get cemu emulator to work

Anyone got issues with shader cache for botw ? It keeps on crashing while compiling.
Did you download it from somewhere else? Try deleting it. Better yet, what are the specs of your system? Does it do this on other WiiU games as well?
@@BatoceraNation I got them from ziperto, tried both us & eu version, also switched between OpenGL & vulcan, I’ve also reinstalled batocera over 10 times to try different files/settings but it would still crash before/at “open your eye…”
I’m running it on i7 9700kf + 2060s, Mario party works fine though.
@@andytsang1628 You've done everything that I would have. The only other thing I would have done is to try it on Beta 33. I also assume that you have turned on your Nvidia card, right? Just want to make sure.

If you followed the tutorial closely and it didn't work, it means that rom is not compatible even if it works in Windows. The European version of the roms work better. But I also know that a number of people have struggled with this emulator. They are making changes for Batocera 31. Batocera 31 should be coming out soon.

@@MundosParalelos I don't use keys. I had trouble with it. You need to download the games that say Loadline. Those don't need keys.

Please help me! First of all, your video is very good. But my batocera is the newest version on 06/30/2023... I've run everything and I can't find the way to edit the rom name. There are games that come with a strange name and the covers are not found. I've run the entire system, it's been on the faq and nothing!
What system in particular? Many systems? Or roms just for Cemu (wi u)?
Perhaps you got them from an unreliabe place?

Do you think that on a 7-generation I5 I would be able to make it run? thank you very much for your attention.
Your integrated chip won't run CEMU. For integrated Intel Chips, you really need Intel Iris or Iris Pro to run Cemu. They both work.
