Kaitlyn, I don't know you, but I admire your attitude. Most young women have no idea how to dress or carry themselves. A tip: a woman who follows Jesus Christ is saved by His grace and confident that He loves her. This Christian woman will dress to please the Lord. Inside and out, she's a head turner. As she walks in His will, everything she needs to glorify Him will be given in abundance. To know Christ and have your sins forgiven, please read John 3:16. From an 63-year-old to an upcoming beautiful woman, may God bless you.

I am so guilty of the overstuffed purse! And I'm going to say that the man who said that wasn't rude. I mean, it technically WAS rude, lol. But to me it's all about who is saying it and what their intentions are, and how they said it. If he said your stuffed purse isn't elegant in front of people in a very eye rolly way, then that is rude. I'm 63. I've been in a couple situations where some stranger's given me unasked for advice when I was in my 20s. It never even occurred to me they were being rude. I was just so happy to get great advice from someone I knew was trying to help and certainly knew more than I. I think the gentleman was kind and willing to take the chance that you'd be offended in hopes that you'd take it as the valuable gem it was. I guess it all depends on attitude and how to take constructive criticism, stranger or not.
Excellent as always. Re bags, I have always carried a small handbag which carries my purse, these days a phone, my keys, tissues and a pen. I then may carry a shopping bag, or my swims bag. When I was working a bag with my lunch etc. But if I am going out for a day, I change my handbag to a larger one to accommodate what I am likely to need during the day.
With regards to manicures/pedicures... I always wear a beautiful red on my toes, however will wear a clear on my fingernails because I'm hard on my hands and they chip easily, so it's not so noticeable. And chips are ughhh. So that's my workaround which works for me.
Same for me = red/burgundy on the toes, but clear or the *palest* of pink or neutral tone on the nails due to general wear-n-tear. I buy quality nail lacquer and do all the things to make sure it lasts long. But still, my manicure is a chipped within three days .

Great video Myka! An old toothbrush makes a great nail brush, finger nails and toe nails; just thought I add that tidbit in case anyone has a problem finding a ¨nail brush.¨ LOVE seeing a young person, such as yourself, drawing attention to elegance and etiquette. Many of the younger generation act as though they were raised by wolves which is sad to me. I am a southern woman, we take etiquette and appearance seriously, especially those of my generation and older. Younger woman need to pay attention. They need to ¨level up¨ themselves and RAISE their children rather than letting TV do it for them. Blessings!!
These tips are fabulous especially the slowing down of your speech/gestures. Myka has such poise and elegance without compromising her liveliness. She’s so cute! I love her!
These were five tips that are BRILLIANT! Not cookie-cutter “tips” - like “smile” or “stand up straight”. So thoughtful and USEFUL! The bag and manicure tips - wow!!
Please keep the videos coming more regularly! You are my favorite classy girl teacher, and I learned so much from your modern etiquette book and videos.
This is not going to be a popular opinion but another thing elegant women do is maintain an elegant figure. Stay in shape. Be slender and carry yourself tall.
I stumbled on your channel by accident and so glad I did. I am a new subscriber and I have already passed these 5 suggestions. I was raised by a very elegant mother and one of the kindest women you would ever want to meet! I can't wait to see what else you have for us! Thank you so much for sharing!
Dear Myka, i so much appreciate your generosity with sharing all those wonderful teachings!! I find that elegance has nothing to do with how much spendable finances someone has, and you and the Daily Connoisseur are the greatest cheerleaders of this concept. I love that!! I would also like to give you a compliment on your gorgeous silver hair, that is coming in a most striking shade and pattern! you look so royal and nobel ... like a Duchess! You just glow!!!
Elegance includes good grooming from head to toe, front and back. It’s as important to check your front view and back view. As my father taught me when I was a teen, use a mirror to check what you will look like as you approach and move past someone with a consistent image. A dishevelled rear view can leave a bad impression. Thank you @Myka Meier
Great tips! I go to the local beauty school/ college for a $5.00 haircut and $ 5 manicure. I bring my own nail laquer. I use Essie's Allure. I heard Kate Middleton wore that color for her wedding.
Thank you for this video! I agree on everything. As a busy woman living in Paris I often carry more than one bag, especially with my laptop etc. They are not overpacked but it’s never one bag during the day. I wonder how could I improve this thing…Thanks again for your pieces of advice, it’s always important to work on oneself ☺️🙏
A bag inside a bag, or multiple bags inside other bags. I laugh at my mom because she has an iPad bag, medicine bag, snack bag, wallet bag, hygiene bag, but they are all in one large bag. I'm trying to get her to understand that because she already has all those bags in her one big bag, she can leave the large one in the car and just bring her wallet into the store....
I carry a large tote bag for work, inside I have a leather wristlet, large leather wallet, or clutch with my phone, small card wallet, and a lipstick which I can place my car keys if needed. If you are running out for lunch or dinner all you need is the smaller handbag. For other essentials, you can use several zip cases to hold makeup, toiletries, or small office supplies to keep your larger tote bag organized. Though I have found small kits in my desk alleviates the need to carry everything. And make sure you clean out your tote bag and clutch weekly to rid yourself of receipts, trash, dirt, extra pens, lipsticks, etc.
Hi Myka! I’ve always appreciated your tips immensely and am so happy to see your videos. ❤Thank you for your kindness and for sharing your tips and expertise with the world. Hugs from Georgia! 🤗❤️
Love this Myka! When you talk style I’d love for you to touch on looking elegant in very cold weather - I find summer so much easier than winter! Also coats in particular and if you’re attending an event where you’re wearing long dresses, what outerwear do you pair with such things to maintain elegance?
Love these. Sooooo true. A stuffed bags buggy etc is a great sign of a disorganised mind :p I think he was right to HELP you by pointing it out. Up to you what you do with such a observation
I would be happy if someone - who is polished and classy - sincerely yet discreetly gave me that tip about my handbag! Otherwise, how many more months/years would I have kept walking around like that? And he started with an honest compliment - love it.
I always learn so many things from your videos that I just sit with my back straight before I even begin to listen to what you have to say. You are amazing.🌹
I get a bit nervous when I speak sometimes, and have a habit of speaking fast and using a lot of large hand and arm movements. So, to help, if I'm standing if I can consciously keep my hands more together in front of me between chest and belly button, so I'm not flailing around, it helps me. Or, if I'm sitting, I try to keep my hands mostly together in my lap with just a little bit of hand/arm movement.
Question on the first tip - what is your suggestion when going to work? I have to carry a lot of work related items due to my profession (laptop, portable monitor, charger, extension cord, etc.) and I end up with a backpack, purse, and lunchbox. My work bag would look more stuffed if I tried to only use that 1 bag. Any thoughts?
Is it possible to keep your laptop, monitor, charger, cord , notebook etc locked in your workplace? That way you don't have to carry it everyday. You can just come with your handbag and lunchbox extra, if it looks overstffed.
I think you can look elegant if at least these items all coordinate and looks professional. Don’t use a lululemon bag for lunch, very Bradley backpack and then a manly looking black briefcase. I think a neutral color to match potential outfits is appropriate.
I have seen rolling cases in office supply stores. I think they could contain everything you need to bring with you while still looking polished and professional.
Thank you for the video! I would love to see ideas for remaining elegant (as much as one can be) when you have younger kids and are out of the house. Sometimes it feels like it is impossible to pair the two.
So glad I found you. I’ve been binging your videos, keeping tabs on the things that I need to work on the most. Love the information you share and just your amazing energy in general! Also, your blouse is just absolutely gorgeous too. Definitely going to continue to learn with you, and start your online courses soon. Thank you for being you! 💗

Wonderful video. Posture, elegance is perhaps best practiced at home, even if you are alone, at least from time to time to automate it, right? Love and all the best!
Excellent points! One caution re matching your finger and toenails...men overwhelmingly say they detest red toenails because "your toes just look bloody.". Instead, men loooove bubblegum pink on toenails. So maybe red fingernails only in winter when you aren't showing off your tootsies!
I love your videos. My Producer noticed my calligraphy in a handwritten thank you note and now depends on me to do the same for her guests. I've met many wonderful people and have an extensive digital Rolodex because of it. Thank you.
Excellent. Good information to be comfortable among others. For manicures, Olive&June gives free online tutorials and have wonderful kits. Dior Nail Glow is the perfect clear "french manicure."
thank you so much for this video. it's so useful and I love it, it remember me, that I'm quite elegant even sometimes I don't feel like that because I'm not so confident, but all you hve say it's what I do, so I think I'm not so bad ....thanks again for your lessons. are always so special and makes my life much more better.
Myka, you mention teaching people of various backgrounds. For those of us who dress modestly do you have any tips on how to look polished and put together please ❤️ Thanks! x
I agree with all this except for one thing-the matching mani/pedi. I think it also looks great to have hands or feet neutral and the opposite a pop of colors. I always have a white pedicure. What do you think?
Wonderful tips🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 btw I am talking very quickly because when I talk the other person see somewhere else so I thing that I have to finish quickly When I speak I also move my hands very quickly so sometimes me boyfriend say to me : why you are like this? But when his daughter do the same he just laugh with her jokes and he didn’t seems to be bothered by that 🤷🏼♀️
Thank you for your wonderful video! That inspires me to select what I can stop carrying with myself, improve the organization. But how can I avoid carrying more than one bag at a time? Especially if I go to the gym or grocery store right from work?
Polish ruins my fingernails. They end up peeling if they have had polish on them. Toe nails are not a problem so if so have a pedicure with polish, I often go for red. When I polish my fingernails, it is usually clear or sheer pink. Once in a while a red for a special occasion, but I end up removing it the next day as it doesn’t last. Therefore my toenails and fingernails usually don’t match. I’ll have to rethink this.
Carry a nice leather backpack, or other bag large enough to hold everything you need! It’ll fit what usually goes into your purse as well as your gym clothes/groceries etc.
When it comes to grace and elegance, Jackie Kennedy Onassis always comes to mind. I think of an interview with her. I recall she kept her hands in her lap the entire time. Not like she was uncomfortable, but just at complete ease. And, of course, she had that trademark soft feminine voice.
To avoid travelling to and from work with packed bags or multiple bags (such as diaper, work, or gym bags, etc) requires planning and relatively close proximity to your destinations. This is something that is not always feasible without the assistance of others. Speaking of others, it seemed quite gentlemanly for the well-dressed man in your story to kindly request your permission before he offered advice that you didn't know you needed. Yes, in the moment, it was probably uncomfortable, but it saved you from immeasurable embarrassment later when it probably would have counted more. It seems to me that he did you a favour. Unfortunately, I think we sometimes can put protocol, political correctness, or social etiquette above the well-being of others, and in so doing, find ourselves unkind.
I agree. The whole point of a good neighbour is to assist those in help. You do not need to be drowning to be helped; sometimes just pointed. The great intention was there... #HeWasKind
Great tips! I need to practice #5. One of my pet peeves: Overly stuffed handbags, especially high-end designer bags. I cringe whenever I see a bottle of water sitting in an already-full bag that cost thousands of dollars 😩
I find what you are saying about bags (that an elegant woman should carry only one bag at the time) very interesting! Could you, one day, go further on that subject please? How do you manage to carry only one bag when you go to work? For my part, I always carry a small handbag + a briefcase + a lunchbag. 😅
As a petite woman, I usually carry a small handbag. But I need just as much gear as a tall woman. So I put a sm. handbag in a larger tote bag. When going out for lunch, I can stow the large tote under my desk, and just take the small bag. If you need a lunch bag, and it doesn't fit into your tote (or whatever you choose -- backpack, tote, whatever?) just add it to what you carry, and choose a color that matches your tote. You have to do what you have to do. Just make the best of it by coordinating so it looks cohesive. The point is not to be weighed down with so many things to carry. Keep it simple and thought out.
We were raised writing thank you notes. Had to be sent within 24 hours of the event or receiving a gift. I still do it.

Blessings!!
That is such a lovely tip, thank you
These tips are fabulous especially the slowing down of your speech/gestures.
I absolutely love this video! Please create more of these videos. Thank you Myka! ❤
You got it! ❤️
This is not going to be a popular opinion but another thing elegant women do is maintain an elegant figure. Stay in shape. Be slender and carry yourself tall.
Well said. I love a handwritten thank you note.
I stumbled on your channel by accident and so glad I did. I am a new subscriber and I have already passed these 5 suggestions. I was raised by a very elegant mother and one of the kindest women you would ever want to meet! I can't wait to see what else you have for us! Thank you so much for sharing!
I’m 61 and love this! Seems like our young ladies have lost or never learned elegance. 🙋🏻♀️
I really love these tips! The bag and the slower gestures and speaking are newer to me and I will implement them immediately! Thank you! ♥️
Our dads were raised the same 🥰 I certainly do miss him.
I just love you and all your videos. So much grace, so much wisdom. What a a woman
So sweet - wishing you a lovely day!
One large bag/tote with a small purse in it? What do you think?
@@reneecailloux2573 Thank you! I have to find one now 😉☺️
A bag inside a bag, or multiple bags inside other bags.
@@angelapellino885 Oh zut ! More shopping to do 😏
Hi Myka!
I’ve always appreciated your tips immensely and am so happy to see your videos. ❤Thank you for your kindness and for sharing your tips and expertise with the world.
Hugs from Georgia! 🤗❤️
This was such a lovely and insightful video. Thank you ❤
Love this Myka! When you talk style I’d love for you to touch on looking elegant in very cold weather - I find summer so much easier than winter! Also coats in particular and if you’re attending an event where you’re wearing long dresses, what outerwear do you pair with such things to maintain elegance?
Good question x
With this I also ask for tips on extreme hot humid weather. Trying to stay elegant in humid weather is tough too!
I found you today and subscribe. I love having personal stationary because it’s definitely my special touch. I enjoyed your video. Thanks.
Thank you so much for the video. I’m so glad you are doing more videos. I love your books!!
Great doable tips to start implementing! Thank you! ❤🙏🏼
Love these. Sooooo true. A stuffed bags buggy etc is a great sign of a disorganised mind :p
I think he was right to HELP you by pointing it out.
Very informative, I don't polish my nails but people always compliments my hands are so beautiful 😍 💕
Thank you Myka! :-) Tweezerman has a very precise, absolutely brilliant travel nail kit. :-)
Love your videos and advice...you speak to us as if talking to a friend 💖
I think good eye contact is important, it makes people know they have your full attention. Thank you for your fab informative videos.
Just found your channel and have subscribed. As an older lady I love to be seen as elegant and confident. I will be binge watching you back videos.
I can't believe that I missed your chanel, I am a new follower and I am so happy to join your beautiful community 🎊
Please make more frequent videos! Love your energy and chatting while I'm doing chores :)
This shade of red lipstick looks FANTASTIC with your skin tone ❤
Love it! Thank you for sharing ❤
Moderated facial expressions and tone of voice is important as well.
Hello Myka,
It's been a while since I've seen one of your videos. Thank you for posting and refreshing my attitude. I don't prefer the current trend of sweat shirts and appreciate affirmation to continue to look my best. Bless you!
Denise
Finally someone who matches mani/pedi colors.
The rest is perfect. ❤
Great lesson, looking forward to many more.
Wow, so helpful! Thank you 🌸
Great video! You have a new subscriber. A lady from the Bronx can always benefit from these tips . I really need to pause when speaking. You have great content
Yesterday I had lunch with a dear friend, I am sending a thank you note and am sure she will love the detail. Thank you for the reminder Myka ❤
Love your video and your advice thank you🥰
Adore your tips especially the last one it’s life changing tip
Wonderful video. Posture, elegance is perhaps best practiced at home, even if you are alone, at least from time to time to automate it, right? Love and all the best!
Absolutely! Home is the best place to practice elegant habits. That’s how it becomes “real” and not an affectation
Loved this Myka.
Love your red nails ❤
subscribed alrdy just in love with this thanxs dear alottt for this ❤
I just love your work. I hope you know how fantastic your coaching is. Thank you.
Great content. May I ask what lipstick are you wearing? I love classic reds
Just found you. So glad I did. You also got me into a positive attitude
Thank you for the reminder and teaching me good maners
Instant follow. Thank you for sharing.❤
Thank you.
New subscriber, you are so elegant, you are an inspiration, we need such in Schools, thank you.
Thank you! These were helpful tips.
I just adore these videos! I do have a few questions.
Where have you been my whole life? These are wonderful tips. Thank you!
Thank you!! 💕
I love your videos. I want to ask you where the earrings are from. I love them, they are so classy
Hi Myka,
I’m new to your channel! I’m catching up on your videos. They are wonderful. You’re a Gem!
Great video, if you must carry a lunch tote, purse, and laptop- how can you carry it all?
And I love the matching nail and lip!
love this look!
Myka, you mention teaching people of various backgrounds. For those of us who dress modestly do you have any tips on how to look polished and put together please ❤️ Thanks! x
Thank you for the lovely video. 🌷
I agree with all this except for one thing-the matching mani/pedi. I think it also looks great to have hands or feet neutral and the opposite a pop of colors. I always have a white pedicure. What do you think?
I just love your videos. You are amazing woman. I learn such a lot from your content. Thank you.
I love buffed nails! Buffing is so healthy for nails, and never chips.
Thank you so much Myka!
Wonderful tips🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 btw I am talking very quickly because when I talk the other person see somewhere else so I thing that I have to finish quickly
When I speak I also move my hands very quickly so sometimes me boyfriend say to me : why you are like this? But when his daughter do the same he just laugh with her jokes and he didn’t seems to be bothered by that 🤷🏼♀️
Manicure and pedicure is a must have for me 😊.
Thank you so much❤
Thank you for your wonderful video!
Love your comments, I’am New but Love good taste and Elegance , always Learning 😊
I like it! I just subscribed your page and I like you already. I can’t wait for next week to learn from you. 😊
No mean girls. Love that!
When it comes to grace and elegance, Jackie Kennedy Onassis always comes to mind. I think of an interview with her. I recall she kept her hands in her lap the entire time. Not like she was uncomfortable, but just at complete ease. And, of course, she had that trademark soft feminine voice.
Lovely video with great tips. 💐
Fantastic video! ❤
Thank you. I enjoyed this video
#HeWasKind
Very much agree!
Myka, what nail polish are you wearing?? I just love your look!
Great tips! I need to practice #5. One of my pet peeves: Overly stuffed handbags, especially high-end designer bags. I cringe whenever I see a bottle of water sitting in an already-full bag that cost thousands of dollars 😩
#5 is huge. I completely agree.
Obrigada 😊
