Wow!! Now thats a nasty carbon buildup throttle body! Excellent removal and cleaning procedure! Thanks for posting, I will definitely clean my 2009 Tiguan throttle body too!!
Great video, I've had the same fault code on my 2012 Tiguan 2.0. I have one question tho, is it safe to move the throttle plate by hand in order to clean it propertly? I've heard that it can mess up the calibration of the throttle position sensor.
@@mbl-randomdiy6024 thanks. It looks very similar to the 2016. Maybe even identical. Might have to do this to my daughters car while I am in town. She’s got the EPC light.
@millerfamilyfitness9815 10mm for the bracket of the dipstick attached to the throttle body, 7mm for the hose clamp screw. Alternatively, you can use flat screwdriver for the clmp
@@mbl-randomdiy6024 I figured it out after I got under the hood haha. But, the throttle body is as clean as a whistle. So I guess I’ve got a bigger issue.
You are the only one that showed me how to take it off. Thank you.
Thank you for the video , I just followed your steps and I cleaned mine. Thank your video saved my car.👍
My 2013 tiguan 2.0 tdi has 445k on it. Never done throttle body scrub. Will be doing this next week.
I honestly did not know they got that kind of mileage. What have you had to replace?

Awesome video thank you for much better details and demonstration on removing and reinstalling the EGR and throttle body
Glad it helped.
Do you need to plug the car in and calibrate when re installing?
@@Lee12238 nope, i didn't do any calibration. Make sure not to turn on ignition while unplugged.
Buen video, haré lo mismo a mi Jetta, sólo tenia la duda que después de volverlo a instalar se tiene que reprogramar nuevamente?
Hola, no hay que reprogramar nada.
GOD BLESS YOU!
Is that a new seal? Or did you re-use the old one and just cleaned it?
@@Shockspike1 cleaned and reused. Be better if you can replace with new one.
Would this be same process for 2018 Tiguan S
I had a hell of a time getting the hose off. How did you make it look so easy at 1:17?
O guess it wasnt easy as well. there is cut.. i did it yesterday
Use automotive Hose Clamp Piler
Would it be the same tools needed for a Scirocco? I assume so? Thanks
Hi After cleaning that. Do you think the EGR throttle needs recalibrated???
@@dhimokuqali7024 no need. Plug & play
Thanks for the video

When i turn on the ignition it sounds like the gears are slipping. The car is very lazy but no errors from this crazy thing.
