FILM DESCRIPTION:
In this adaptation of Ian Fleming's 1955 novel, James Bond (Roger Moore) must thwart Sir Hugo Drax (Michel Lonsdale), who plans to wipe out all of humankind and replace it with a super race that he has cultivated in a massive space station. The girl in the case is American secret agent Holly Goodhead, intelligently played by Lois Chiles. "Jaws," the steel-mouthed henchman played by Richard Kiel in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), makes a return appearance in Moonraker, turning good guy (complete with a girlfriend of his own) in the process. Bernard Lee makes his last appearance as "M" in this most costly of James Bond's 1970s escapades.

TM & © MGM (1979)
Cast: Lois Chiles, Roger Moore, Blanche Ravalec, Richard Kiel
Director: Lewis Gilbert
Producers: Albert R. Broccoli, William P. Cartlidge, Michael G. Wilson

Rest in peace, both Roger Moore and Richard Kiel. I remember Richard Kiel leading the charge in Happy Gilmore.
He was also great in “Pale Rider” with Clint Eastwood.
I actually met Richard Kiel at a Toys R Us of all places. I was just a child then and I think he was helping to promote the James Bond action figures. He felt like a giant next to me & when I shook his hand, my tiny little hand totally disappeared. I remember my mom telling me not to be scared. Haha
1:42- Jaws reaction had me weak lmao
Really much like the reaction of the odd guy at the controls - well, it looks like Jaw didn't have to settle for a likeminded boyfriend in life heh
I just had a random core memory of this scene in my head and searched for it ! ahha Oh the nostalgia. Man james bond was a gem
I'm surprised Jaws wasn't waiting for Bond out in the parking lot.
superb comment
Well played. Very well played.
Wait what does that mean?
After all jaws can count
"I believe that's Mr. Gilmore's!"
I love the respect Bond and Jaws have fore each other. It's as if Bond knows Jaws isn't truly a bad guy, just making a living with his talents -- even if it is brutally murdering people.
But Jaws didn't get to murder anyone, therefore setting the stage for his redemption, because he finally met someone who made his life complete!
@@a.barnard3205 he actually murderered many people, didn't you watch Spy who loved me?
@@czowiekoowek7708 I was referring to MOONRAKER.
And in THE SPY WHO LOVED ME Jaws murdered only TWO people, not "many".
@A. Barnard "Only" two people
Both Bond and Jaws are professional killers, so they give each other professional courtesy.
Jaws’ “Oh Shit” Reaction, was priceless to say the least 😂😂😂😂
He was like:"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!
Five minutes later, he's not only climbing out of the wreckage of the building and the Skycar, he's, in a sense, climbing out of the wreckage of his past...thanks to the love of a beautiful young lady that bonds with him, right off the bat!
This is PROOF that there is such a thing as love at first sight!
Best scene "have you broken anything?" "Only my tailors heart."
I like his humor. And the humor in James Bond movies.
1:11 The most impressive thing in this was that guy's eyesight who operates the elevator.
I met the man playing Jaws, lovely chap god rest his soul, he was extremely tall, he was a giant compared to James Bond.
I met Richard Kiel as well. Back in the 70’s, I actually met him at a Toys R Us of all places. I was just a child then and I think he was helping to promote the James Bond action figures. He felt like a giant Redwood next to me & when I shook his hand, my tiny little hand totally disappeared. I remember my mom telling me not to be scared. Haha
7ft1.5 😱
Goodhead - “You know him?”
Bond - “Not socially. His name’s Edward Ainsworth but known as Jaws, he kills people”.
James Bond: "His name is Jaws, he kills people"
His name is Richard Keel.He is a movie director.
Hynes & Clearwater i
"This is Frank, he's a plumber. This is Ed, an ad exec from Philadelphia. This is Jaws, he kills people."
Haha that brought back memories...we had this film on VHS and I watched it all the time
Guns don't kill people; I kill people.
no bond movie is complete without jaws
Paul Oniel
Jaws can never die;)
@Ian Turner At least they remembered to add him in GoldenEye 007.
Or an oddjob!
@eating sugar no papa in my opinion yes :)
RIP Roger
Welcome to the yeezy jaws era
I remember her having braces too!! - I thought the other part of the gag of Jaws finding a girlfriend was the fact that she also had metal in her mouth...
Yeah, but they are absent in new editions, strange!
@@paulrawes They are also absent in old VHS tapes or whatever. Seems like they were never there. And that's the crazy thing since many remember the braces.
this was Mandela Effected! search on mandela effect
Her not having braces is probably the most disappointing "Mandela Effect" moment for me. Similarly, I know that the "Pigmalion" episode of King of the Hill *never* had the man stuck on a meat hook at the end. I did _think_ of that very same thing when I was first watching it, but it didn't happen; King of the Hill isn't that kind of show.
There are some old reviews of this movie from way back that also mention her having braces lol. How could that be the case if they never existed?
I mean can we talk about the fact that they are so adorable together he and his gf
Scene don't even make sense without Dolly having metal teeth braces like him that's what made the scene so good
Seeing a pretty girl and smiling at her after she helped get some heavy thing off you and isn't running away afraid isn't enough for you?
2:28 is actually the most paused moment for me. It's one of the most cited instance of the Mandala effect. Like some of the commenters here, I too seem to distinctively remember the braces. It's like the realisation of something in common to spark off that interest!
jaws is an awesome villian and he's huge!
That control man's reaction at 1:40 was priceless! LOL
See Jaws' reaction at 1:42
Omg it's shot like we're watching some kids fighting at a playground...
Agree, but this movie is 40 years old
@@m.shadows8123 that's no excuse, have you seen Connery's fight scenes in the earlier James Bond movies.
@@GetToDaChoppa-k5r yes i have, but long time ago. I was james bond fan when i was kid, i watched them all. in these days i don't care them, i like only casino royale
@@m.shadows8123 Never liked Daniel Craig as Bond.
@@alexalvarado144 My 3 favorites are:(Drum roll, please):
1-First and foremost, Sean Connery!
2-Roger Moore.
3-Pierce Brosnan.
I really didn't gett too much into Tristan Rogers, Roger Lazenby, or Daniel Craig. Please bear in mind, that I don't hate them, and that they are all excellent actors in their own right. It's just that they never did make as big an impression on me, in the role of James Bond, as the first 3 did.
Jaws and Dolly - A better love story than Twilight... Sorry, I couldn't resist 😉
Raven1983Witch actually out all the bond movies I’ve seen jaw and dolly have probably the best love story in any bond movie period.
Where's her braces???
That's ok. I understand. What I wouldn't give, to have a beautiful woman like little Miss Dolly. In my mind, she's the love of my life!
@@ZalMoxis exactly.. Mandela effect? They are fkng with our heads
I remember in my last parallel universe Dolly looked great with braces
Mandela Effect. No matter what the skeptics and debunkers say, she had braces. I know because I saw this movie at the theater in 1979 and her braces got a huge reaction from the audience.
I know.. the scene doesn't even make any sense without it, he liked her beacuse of the braces thats why it was such a funny scene.
That girl had braces they trying to make us think our memories are off I kno she had them bc my brother had them we watched that in the 90s my bro had a crush on her saying she got teeth like me my memory is not off and neither is yours or my bro's they changing reality and society is falling for it
It hate this Mandela bullshit....but i cant understand why i vividly remember her having braces.....so does my older brother and mother, i didnt even tell them about the "mandela effect"....yet both fully agreed that she had braces.....hell its what gives them a connection METAL TEETH.
@@magznorway8525 i know right!....its well past creepy, its like mass scale mis- remembering
Jaws got the hotter babe.
FISHAHOLIC yea he did
No doubt
She's probably the reason why he went to Minions Anonymous in Inspector Gadget.
A coincidence first he crashed through a sky tram station then he finally founded his victory
They do make a cute couple.
Haha I love his expression at 1:42
Man I miss the days when films used slow motion and miniatures in films
“Hey 007, haven’t you forgot your 9 iron? Hahahaha”
RIP Rogare more and Richard Kiel you guys were the best
R.I.P. Richard Kiel (*1939-+2014)
All i came here for was for the Happy Gilmore comments lmao
Moonraker along with The Black Hole with Robert Forster are both the most underrated sci-fi films of all time and I really love both Moonraker and The Black Hole so much. Moonraker will always be my favorite Roger Moore bond film, it is a very underrated and excellent bond film, and Moonraker as well as The Black Hole both had brilliant music scores by John Barry. The performances from Roger Moore, Lois Chiles, and Michael Lonsdale were all great, Richard Kiel coming back as Jaws was awesome, and the outer space finale at Hugo Drax's space station was impressive.
I also really love The Black Hole. The Black Hole is a very underrated and great sci-fi Disney film, Robert Forster as Dan Holland and Roddy McDowall as V.I.N.CENT were both great characters, and Dr. Hans Reinhardt along with Maximilian the Robot were both brilliant villains. Overall, I always loved both Moonraker and The Black Hole from 1979, John Barry was a great music composer for Moonraker and The Black Hole, and Moonraker as well as The Black Hole with Robert Forster are both way more better films than The Rise of Skywalker and The Last Jedi.
1:42 - how it feels to drink 7 UP
rip roger moore the best bond
Still a better love story than Twilight and Old Fashioned(2015)
Btw RIP Roger Moore.
R.I.P. Roger Moore :(
LOL! His reaction at 1:41
Rip Roger
"Hey shooter, haven't you forgotten your 9 Iron? HAHAHAHAHA!"
Dolly's entrance is so cute!
Jaws: "I'll kill you, Bond"
Jaws at 2:27: "Damn! Bond who?"
Happy Birthday, Richard Kiel! 🎁🎊✨🎇🎆🎉🎈🍦🎂
RIP Jaws man with steel teeth..
At 2:15 Dolly uses her extremely large chest muscles to help free _Jaws_ from the wreckage.
Her braces disappeared when she smiles back at him. The Mandela effect. Weird huh. Her having a mouth full of metal too was the whole point of the scene.
Man looking back at those movie scenes now, they are very silly😂😂
Awesome scene!
You 'll never be alone in Rio
She was so pretty
Simply the best films, I'm lucky that I was brought up on films like this, and the song wow
People always trashing Moonraker. This is the best fight sequence of them all
2:13 that was very nice of her helping jaws out by pushing the big wheel of him and the sweetest part of all is these two are in a relationship. 😍💖👫
"only my tailors heart" 🤣
Jaws finds love at the end of a ropeway crash :)
Man the music is so good, especially at the start.
Folks, Richard Kiel (Jaws) is buried near by and has never had a marker placed only a plastic sign with his name. A reward Ill-fitting our friend and his efforts to entertain us for so many years. Suggestions?
🙏💪
so long Roger Moore!
I just realised the cable Car is on a different track to the zipline lol
1:43 WAH WAH!
How is time past so fast?
What happen with good quality movies?
Its like watching scene in the James Corden show....
Lol Jaws and the chick
where's the braces???
And That was Love at first sight Lol !
Roger Moore Vs Richard Kiel
Get Your Lightsaber Mr Bond. X
In my Rio
R.I.P. Roger Moore
goddamn jaws got himself a baddie
Always Jaws...a big accident..but he doesn't have a scratch
What's the biggest inaccuracy in Moonraker's representation of Brazil? One might say it is Bond wearing Gaucho garb in Rio as if it's something traditional there. Another might argue it's the depiction of a Mayan pyramid (or the Iguazu Falls, for that matter) in the Amazon. The most amusing one, however, is all the 7 Up ads going around - never seen it growing up, and apparently it was only commercialised here from 95 to 97.
what is the music heard when jaws and girl-friend look each other?
That is amazing love it
What happen to the girls braces?
the mandela effect
I remember braces
@@jamiejewell nope she had very shiny braces in the original film it was the whole point of the gag, it was later edited because of SWJ's
@@magiccheeseball it wasn't edited..
It's just gone..so i did my research
Braces was there.
You can goggle jaw 007 visa credit card commercial
@@lolplo6115 on the original film before video she had on big ugly braces
Didnt the girl have braces?
Yes, in a parallel reallity. CERN, quantum computers and Mandela effect for mor info.
I miss the 80´s
They don't make movies like this anymore....
RIP Sir Roger Moore
I often think about him when I smoke a Montecristo
This is from 1979, close enough...
2:35 i could swear she had braces...
Brought to you by 7Up 😂
Excellent movie. Jaws is awesome.
Jaws is one of the best villains ever and Oddjob
Incredible jaws
Um.... where's Dolly's braces ???? Anyone ?????
Mandela stole ‘em
That jaws is a clumsy bastard😆. I always looked forward to his appearances though.
2:26 i once heard that music on spongebob what was that called?
The look on jaws face lol
Could really go for a 7up right now.
Ahh the moment where Jaws turns good 30 seconds after trying to commit a double murder! Film also has a pigeon do a double take on seeing Bond in a hovercraft gondola and a women getting hunted down and ripped apart by dogs, crazy mixed bag of a film!
@2:41 -annnnnnd Action!
1:11 Rica Days
Can anyone tell me the background music when Jaws fell in love with Dolly? I heard it somewhere before!
Romeo & Juliet - Fantasy Overture by Tchaikovsky. Around the 14:22 mark of the piece.
Steve Rogers thanks bud!
Sims.....when you make them BONE
@Ian Turner That is Steve Austin
@@rocketraccoon1976 I've been thinking about getting around to listening to more of Tchaikovsky's work. So far, I've only heard that one, The Nutcracker Suite, and 1812 Overture..
Watching this today, this scene is wild 💀💀
Holly: You know him
Bond: Not socially, his name is Jaws. He kills people
and later
Holly: Hang on James
Bond: The thought had occurred to me.
At 1:45 You'd think Jaws' car would've had some sort of emergency brake.
Hahahahahhaaaaa Bond and the woman are a cardboard cutout or something going down that line! Hahahahaaaa I didn't notice that as a kid..... That's hilarious..😆
Lurch from the Addams family was supposed to be a character somewhat like this. No talking. But then, the script changed and he turned into a comic character
That's the ultimate bad ...
Cartoons never were better.
You know, this is the only Bond vs. Jaws scene in the films that actually has music.
safest most polite fight ever
More like Bond vs. Back Projection.
ยุคนี้ หนังเจมส์บอน ดีที่สุด สนุก ตื่นเต้น วิวสวยงาม
Jaws couldn't lift the wheel but ol busty blondie did, no problem 😂😂😂
A bit cliche, but also kind of cute with Jaws finding someone he likes.
i thought Bond was fighting with a shark
Dolly had braces when she smiled back at Jaws. That was the whole point of the scene. The Mandela effect gave her perfect teeth. It doesn't make any sense now. A different time line? A parallel universe? Cern?
