Some great tips. I’ve had good success with stress blend fert for the last couple summers. Careful with the Milo, it’s got phosphorus in it, and if your lawn doesn’t need it, you’ll probably have some run off. I’m on Long Island, and there’s signs up at Home Depot saying not to use phosphorus unless you need it. My soil test says I’m already high in it… I guess it’s a watershed concern depending on your area. I’m kinda bummed because it’s nice to have things like Milo in your toolbox!
Thank you, Ben! Yes, you’re right about being careful with the phosphorus. I rarely use anything with phos and when I do, I leave a large buffer zone away from the water. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I combat that with using liquid iron it has worked well for me instead of using milo
Great tips! Especially water... Too much or at the wrong time is just as bad as doing nothing!.

What’s up SG! I’ve never used the summer guard but it looks like it’s a 20-0-8 with insect killer. Just make sure you are watering for a few days after applying.
Could I use miracle grow plant food on my lawn by chance?
Also what about using Epsom salt on the lawn?
Miracle gro actually makes a lawn food and I’d bet it works well. Epsom salt is good for your lawn too. Thanks for watching and commenting!
What kind of fertilizer do you recommend for a lawn that was newly seeded in the spring? I'm about 5 weeks out from initial seeding and have been able to get 2 mows in. You mentioned high nitrogen wouldn't be good with our Chicagoland temps rising.

Funny with the kids and the smell. I once threw down milorganite and Neptune's harvest turf formula at the same time (hydrolized fish, Seaweed, molasses, humate, Yucca). No one complained but my kid too. It did create a very interesting smell that lingered for a while, ill say that much. Go Sox

What pisses me off right now, I live in Naperville IL and we are have hot 90+ days for a week now and I water almost 3hrs half of my house and another round for the other half of my house at night every other day since I'm odd days for watering and my lawn is getting fried still. My water bill is going to be super high on top of having a not so lush green lawn. I cant stomach the thought of doing my full 6am-10am and another 6pm-10pm. I'll fucking go poor😭😭
It has been so hot! You really only need to water about 20 minutes 3 times a week, even in the heat.

Yes you can! Just be careful with the amount of phosphorus you are putting down and don’t over-do it with the milo.
