- Wodan Timburcoaster, often just referred to as Wodan, is a wooden roller coaster located at Europa Park, in Rust, Germany. The ride, which opened as one of Europe's tallest and fastest wooden coasters, became the parks first roller coaster to not be made out of steel. Agree.. just spent 2 days in the park, and Wodan really got the speed and track layout perfect..
It's funny how my two favourite rides at a park owned by Mack are the only ones not built by them.
Wodan has one of my favourite queue lines and storylines ever, if not my very favourite.
Awesome ride and one of the very few 'intense' attractions at Europa Park.

It is a fantastic ride, my favourite at the park. The theme is great too, it is just a shame that it's too complicated to truly appreciate by only walking down the queueline. Most riders won't understand what the ride is about.

Its good to say that europapark is another company, there both separate just like their new waterpark is another company so they are not dependent of Rache other
I remember the first time I rode it. Beginning: Oh well not looking bad for a woodie! After first drop: WTF this thing is rushing through the tracks :) The coaster that surprised me more than any other yet!

Wodan looks like a very insane wooden coaster! I love all of the interactions with Blue Fire, Atlantica Supersplash, and the station! I also love how it keeps its really fast speed throughout the entire ride! The only thing I’d say this could improve on is that it’s a little short. Making it longer would probably make it one of the best gcis out there!

I just wanted to say that I absolutely love your videos! Honestly wouldn’t say I’m a huge fan of coasters, would go as far as saying I’m terrified of them. But I stumbled upon your videos when I was looking into the rides at my home park, and I am hooked! Thank you for making such awesome and educational videos, I feel like I have learned a lot! :-)

In my opinion, even though Wicker Man is very well themed, I think you just can't beat Wodan in terms of theming. Europa Park does some heavily themed rides, but Wodan is definitely the star of the show in that category. Outside of that, I think this is one of GCI's best creations :) Probaly top 10 worthy, if more people in the US ride it of course.
I have the opposite opinion. Wicker Man, in my opinion, is a much better designed theme. Wodan's theme cannot be appreciated by 99.9% of the riders, as it's not easily understood by nagivatig the queueline. It's a well produced theme, but a horribly told story. Wicker Man on the other hand does both well. The Wicker Man story is told as part of the preshow, which brings all guests up to speed. On top of this, it's a more unique theme compared to general Norse mythology. Therefore, overall, I prefer the Wicker Man theme over Wodan's.
Maybe one of the best themed coaster in the world, but I found it a bit too fast (and I dont say that often). Troy in Toverland is the better ride, and the theming of it is better than average in the U.S. But theming of wodan is a 10/10. Ride itself an 7.5/10.

Wow I love the themeing on this ride! I wish Dollywood would do the same to Thunderhead's station and line as well.

I did really like to see more of these crazy themings, europapark dud an incredible job with Wodan. GCI also builded the very cool race coaster at the Efteling. The ride is great, I think that GCI will make much more awesome rides in the future like these.

It's definitely a great ride, and I would love to see more theming on wooden coasters. This theme is performed very well though and fits great
I agree! However, I find the theme on Wodan a little bit of a shame, as by just navigating the queue, most wont understand or appreciate its detail. The theme or storyline is not well told, it's just there.
That's true unfortunately
WODAN sure is a great addition for Europapark, sadly the further in the back you decide to do the ride coaster, the rougher it gets. Due to WODANs retracking in different sections of track it feels more comfortable to ride than in 2017. I love how WODAN never really slows down, it keeps the speed all the way through the course.
The cueline and WODAN itself (the whole area) is well themed that it’s not boring to wait, unlike Euromirs outdoor zick zack cueline.
I always look forward to ride WODAN when I go to Europapark, although I prefer Blue Fire and Silver Star.
The dispatch times are sometimes alright but pretty much always excellent (1 minuets 20 seconds or less) compared to the dispatches on USA wooden coasters.
I’d give it a final rating of
9/10
due to it’s shorter duration.

Looks Amazing ! I would love to see more well themed wooden coasters. These GCI's look so good but I have yet to ride one. I am going to ride my first RMC in October and then after that my mission is to get on a GCI. Great video!

Wodan used to be my favorite coaster until Taron opened. The ride is just nonstop with so many quirky elements. It's a bummer that it's become a bit rough (I just rode Toverland's Troy for the first time a few days back and daaaamn, how smooth is that ride?!), but the overall experience with the amazing queueline and how it towers over the area still gives Wodan the edge for me. Still remains my No. 2, definitely my favorite ride at EP.
It's interesting that many are riding it rough, I didn't experience that myself. Taron looks fantastic, a worthy beater of Wodan :)

This was the first wooden coaster for me and my kid ( 7 years old ) . It's pretty fun . Next time we gonna ride all the rides with him .

I've always found rollercoasters terrifying, When I was 7 years old I went to a park called Tusenfryd in Norway. I was terrified of taking any of the rides. But when I was around 11 years old i went to the park with my class (7th grade) And I didn't go on any of the rides. When 13 years old I went to the park again. this time I was able to push myself to go on "Spaceshot" a Flat Ride which shoots you upwards. This year I went to the park with my class again (10th grade) I was able to Push myself on a Vekoma Wooden Coaster called "Thundercoaster" it opened in 2001 it is 950 meters long and in the 2 minutes, the ride lasts, you reach a top speed of 95 km/h. in 2008 big parts of the track was replaced with a track from Great Coasters International. I remember when I was 7 years old and was going to the queue and running out crying of fear. I will always be proud of myself for taking the ride for the first time in my life. Although I have been able to go on a small, not so fast Roller Coaster I still feel like taking Thundercoaster as a big achievement.

I think that Wicker Man should’ve added a Mystic Timbers-like ending where you go in a shed and an animation plays based on the coaster’s theme.
That would have been good, but the ride packs quite a punch regardless! :)

Did you get a video at the crossover of Wodan and Atlantica with both rides passing at the same time? I saw it when I was without a phone/camera and came back the next day trying to get it, but it never happened😂

I don't know if it's because I'm 12 and smaller I went to europa park in April but I found wodan extremely rough it really hurt my head I sat in front right but idk

I thought there's a wooden coaster in China that's the biggest CGI called "Wooden Coaster" but I could be wrong.
There is, but that uses the mountainous terrain. Wodan remains the tallest GCI roller coaster from the level of the ground beneath to it's maximum highest point.

Technically wood coaster isn't very tall, as it follows the natural terrain of the ground. It may have the biggest overall drop in terms of highest to lowest point, but isn't very tall above the ground underneath.

COASTER BOT It had zero airtime, and little positive Gs. It had a few twisty sections and laterals, but I was expecting much more, due to the hype surrounding it.
Seems to me like you caught it at a bad time. How many rides did you get on it?
COASTER BOT Maybe. I rode it in the Easter break. I didn't count the number of times I rode it, but I'd guess 15-20 times over a 4-day period, in most rows. Front was best. But even so I preferred Silver Star, and possibly Blue Fire. I'd say I like it as much as Wicker Man.
