From a guy that really understands professional footage...this is the best in depth adjusts for truly excellent footage..many thanks.....
Thank you so much, Im a beginner and your setting have vastly improved my footage. Your explanation of the settings is easy to follow for newbies and you have made a follower out of me. keep up the good work!
Nicely done. Great footage and settings recommendations.
I just want you to know that you are helping people far and wide with these complex settings (complex for a country boy from Texas anyway) Thank You.
First useful tips I've found. Other videos I watched were just people trying to post the first Mavic videos, without any real knowledge of the drone.
Thanks for these tips buddy, just got my Mavic and I'm loving it so far
Very nice. Thanks for taking the time to show.
You explained a lot in a very short time. Most would take what seems like a life time to explain. I appreciate that. Like I have an hour to hear 10 minutes of info.
Thank you for this. Fantastic stuff. I agree 100% about the smoothness of pans and tilts and your tips are super helpful.
thank you. Ive been looking for this. IT covers what needed with out leaving out important steps.
Looks fantastic, I can’t wait to use these settings
Short and informative tutorial, great job.Nice video!
Great information man. Lots of useful information for people that wants the Cinematic look for sure.
Thanks for the input with the settings. As a new drone flyer, and very little photograph experience, it was very helpful.
Thanks for the video. Just got my mavic 2 days a=go and this helped immensely.
Awesome cinematic shots and color contrasting!
Before purchasing my Mavic I used to watch your videos :) Its been approx 1yrs I've been flying Mavic Pro :) But will try the settings now
very impressive video at the end, looked so professional and a really well explained video. very nice
Excellent tips. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for sharing! Easy to understand and follow. We go outand try it out! Currently on our Motorcycle RTW trip trying to get good shots!
Nice video, thanks for the settings suggestions and great footage!
Gotta love well done low angle drone videography... a dolly shot without the time, expense and effort laying track.
Great tutorial and examples!
Great setup information and beautiful shot
don't you just love the know it alls trying to slap the man down for trying to help the unskilled of us.. great info 360, keep them coming..

Thank you! Bookmarked and saved.
Really well made video, great footage at the end.
great video will help me a lot on setting mine up.
Beautiful work at the end and excellent video overall.
Awesome footage, mine is ordered and only arriving in Feb can't wait. Thanks for the tips
I'm sure you'll love it as soon as it arrives. Hope you get some great shots!
Most useful clip on the Mavic settings I've seen yet. Thank you. Subscribed.
Thanks for your kind comments! Hope to make a few more helpful vids soon.
Well done! Great settings. Thanks!
Thanks for the gimbal settings. I was struggling when panning both horizontally and vertically and keeping it smooth.
Very interesting video, many thanks for taking the trouble to post this.
That Mist footage looks superb
thanks for the tips! Excited to get mine in the mail :)
very cool - great footage
Thanks for posting this. I found it very informative. Also enjoyed your ending video. I hope to be as good as you someday.
Thank you for this fabulously helpful presentations
Useful video, nice one!
Some nice ideas on settings - think cinema mode arrived post your upload which is a great pre-set. Only one thing I'd have altered that you didnt mention and the 'Mists..' film suffered for was auto-exposure nastily stepping up and down on you which of course is far from cinematic. Off auto, judge a fixed level and fix the rest in post. Thanks for the upload, I've sub'd.
Wow, thank you so much for this great videos👌🏼😉
Nice one - great tips.
Great video mate
Very nice tips - I'll experiment with these settings over the weekend
Hope it helps and you get some great video!
Thank you for the tips
great tips, thanks!!
Lovely tones, working in quite difficult light at times.
Good tut man cheers! :)
Wow,,,hats off! I'm trying these settings right away,,,now all i need is a bit more skill. You Sir are a fantastic pilot and editor.
+ORiJiNaL GaMeSTa way too kind. I can't do anything you won't be able to do. That's for sure. Good luck. Have fun with your drone!
Thanks for this. Reminds me of 'tweaking' my video cards to get the best gaming experience.
Great video mate
Subbed
Thank you for the tips...
Really helpful! Thanks
I really like your tips and also how your produced your footage.
Have been using almost the same settings and they do achieve decent results most of the time (well, I think so anyway) :)
Thanks for sharing your experience
...
thank you. great video
Great video, thanks
Really liked the video. It has a very nice vibe to it. Thanks for the settngs and advices. I just bought my mavic alpine white less than a week ago and learned a lot with your video. Overall I am really impressed with my aircraft. By the way, for anyone thinking about gett8ng the mavic pro I really recommend the Alpine white if you like this color. The good news is that it comes with 3 batteries and an extra set of propellers. I am enjoying it like a little child 😀
excellent tips, I have only just received my Mavic and to get top notch footage it is a bit of a learning curve with being new to video and photography. Great advice also with regards to the shutter speed only being double what your frame rate is
Great video. I've had my Mavic since early Nov and having come from the P4, the sensitivity of the controller, gimbal and making the footage look smooth, it's just been difficult to try and determine what each setting does. The P4 was smooth out of the box.
Thanks- I subbed so looking forward to more great videos.

thank you, very helpful tips
Excellent, thank you
I like the tips on smoothing out the yaw, gimbal, etc. thanks. Making changes on my Mav today.
Your camera settings make sense too, but unfortunately, DJI has removed ART profile, so its relative to what profile you're using and how experienced you are in post.
Thanks for sharing
Good Tips thanks.
Thanks buddy... ill try these
Nice set up, may work on my phantom 3 advance
Great tips and tutorial.
dude, beautiful shoots, montage at the end! thanks!
I'm an absolute novice with the Mavic Pro, but this video is really helpful. Cheers.
Thans for your explanation.
Good tips. Tks.
Great tips. I'm getting a Mavic for my upcoming world cycle. I set out in just 2 months time and want to capture the whole thing on drone, GoPro 5, Sony a7rii. All in 4k if pos. Steve
Thank you! I just got mine and I was wondering what settings to even change to get that kind of result.
The video is amazing too, I hope I can come close to something looking like that!
Hey, I hope the video helped. The new dji go 4 app is slightly different to the one I did my video on but the same settings should still apply. I'm sure you'll get great video. Happy filming!
Wonderful tips here. Thank you, sir. Loved your "Mists" video. Subbed.
Hi Chris, thank you so much for your comment. Glad you liked it!
I'm an Inspire1 owner, and the Mavic will be my next purchase. I want a bit more portability for travel. These are also great settings for the Inspire...thanks for the tips!
EDIT:
I ended up with the Mavic Pro Platinum, & I love it, BUT my videos aren't the same without you doing voice-overs 👍🏻
Thanks mate, good video. Still waiting on mine.
Thanks! Hope you get it soon. Mine took months to arrive. You'll love it when you finally get it!
Very nice! Thank you!!!!
+FabuZ .RueDeVerdunProD. You're welcome. Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you!
+Ben Jacobsen you're welcome. Thanks for the comment!
Excellent tips. Well stated and presented. Keep up the good work.
You're too kind! Thanks for the comment.
Hi, thanks for the tips. Do you use the DJI Go App or another video editing program?
Are you serious?
Windows Movie Maker--FTW!
Rich Gran - Please, in the name of all things holy, don't do any video editing in DJI's app unless it's for your eyes only...or for someone you love. When using their app, you are most likely editing the footage that's streamed back to your mobile device or tablet. It's grainy & glitchy in many frames no matter how welll connected you are too your Drone. Invest in a program like Adobe Premiere & do all your video editing with the footage captured & saved on your micro SD card.
thx PaL. Cheers
Cheers for the panning smoothly info I hadn't spotted that and works way better on your settings now:) The flicker your getting I presume is from having auto running on exposure or/and white balance. If you shoot full manual all the time there is no change in exposure during your shot, need the ND filters for that though. Thanks for the info and making your clip brilliant!
Hi Kirk, thanks for the comment. I was actually cocking about with the exposure settings to see how smooth the transition would be during filming. You're absolutely right. Stick it in full manual and nail the exposure from the start! A good set of ND filters is the next on my must-buy list!
nice work....
Just a quick tip, Make sure your shutter speed is only double what your frame rate is. so @ 2.7k 24 your shutter needs to be no more than 50-60. Thats why you are seeing shutter skip in your video.
+Mike Hendrix that's a great tip! 180 degree shutter. I'll need to pick up nd filter. Any recommendations?
polarpro are the most popular ones, and DJi just released their own for the mavic as well.
Joe Materese you need an ND filter in order to reduce the amount of light coming into the lens. This allows for lower shutter speeds which add motion blur to your video, instead of a harsh stuttering frame transition. It makes everything look smoother and much more natural. ND filters also make colors a bit more vibrant. Your shutter speed should be double you frame rate in order to utilize this trick If that didn’t help, look it up on RUclips
I literally just attended a dji sponsored photo class. They say never use filters. Impeding light will impede quality? I fly i2.
Mike is right. You really do need an ND filter to achieve a close to 1/60th of shutter speed when shooting at 30fps. This ensure the proper motion blur, otherwise you will get 'rolling shutter'. I fly I2 also.
Good comprehensive explanation of your settings. I love the scene starting 07:40
A pitty what RUclips is doing with their compression :-(
awesome
Very smooth I might want to try the settings,.. Thanks for sharing,.. The video brightness seems to bit too low though
thanks
Your footage looks great and the music was perfect. I guess I need a Mavic. I fly a 3DR Solo and the GoPro is disappointing.
I have both and agree the stock GP is not great but there are fixes. To be honest, the Solo is much smoother and easier to get cinematic videos from. The camera is about the same overall, if you upgrade your GP lens it becomes a much better camera
Thanks 👍 greets from belgium everyone 👍
Thanks! Hope you get some great shots in Belgium - a beautiful country. I used to race bicycles in West Flanders.
Just starting out with my mavic, got 1 this week. Great to see a shorter video, most of the tutorials seem to come from across the pond and are very long winded, some people just love the sound of their own voice. I will over the coming weeks be trying out your tips. Where do you get your music from,.
Thanks for the video, most of the settings or at least the name have changed on the latest firmware/app version but some of the stuff was really useful and I look forward to getting out there and giving it a go.
PS. Assuming you live nearby to Warley Place we must be (almost) neighbours as I'm about half a mile away!
Hi Richard, yes, I realise a lot of the settings have been changed - though hopefully most of the setup tweaks can still be applied. You're right, I don't live far from Warley Place - such a beautiful and atmospheric little nature reserve. Have fun flying!
Its hard to use the Mavic in a big city like Long Beach, CA (other than the beach of course). Your footage setting looks awesome!
Hi there, this footages are really nice! Can you tell me if I use 4K compare to when you use 2.7k but using your setting, would that still work? Art mode - -1,-3,-3 etc. Also will you be able to do a tutorial on the colour correction/LUTS that you used at post production? Thanks
I've settled on shooting 1080P 30fps - 0-0-0 on all settings None for color & works beautifully. Can't stand the thought of shooting 4K or 2.7K then having to convert when straight out of the camera with my personal choice of settings as stated work really well. Just my thoughts & I really only got the Mavic for the absolutely 'game changing' portability factor as opposed to always having had to lugg my Phantoms around.........Happy Flying - And Happy New year!
I'm with you Paul - the only time I use 2.7K or 4K is if I want the extra reach I can get from cropping the larger frame down in post...or the occasional 4K video :)
do you have a link for your music. Doing great work!!
Hi! Should be a link to the music in the description. It's all free off the youtube library. Let me know if you have trouble finding the tracks.
Thanks for the tips! I will mirror the comments that the video looks too compressed. Also it could use a light touch of color correction as well.
Thanks for the feedback. Totally agree with you. Rushed this video without paying too much attention to the settings. Other footage is fine!
If you put sharpness/contrast/etc below 0, the noise reduction of the drone will automatically kick in if I'm not mistaken. Therefore your footage will be less flexible in the post..
Lensbreak Studios That's a good point. It's also the reason why I don't bother with 2.7K. I believe it's best to achieve proper exposures (at highest resolution) during filming. And, despite what DJI says, sometimes that requires a filter. If your footage is balanced when shooting you have more latitude for compensation and effects in post production. It will also be easier to achieve greater continuity with your other dailies if you capture your footage correctly in the camera.
wow Extra thanks.
